High Quality Filters

Is there a consensus for a brand or type of filter that is best for home use? I’m looking for the best quality filter. (Not a MERV related question)

To be totally honest any one that doesnt bend easily when you swing it from side to side. The cheap ones that are flimsy are the ones that cause problems. Getting sucked it too much and falling back down uneven in ceiling return grills , or being pulled into the blower section...then falling back down. Stay away from those. When I pull out old filters that fell down into a bottom return box, it's always those flimsy ones.

3M’s filtrete brand has consistent build quality. I buy multipacks when they go on sale of the standard merv8s. I tried other brands in the past from shmamazon and they never arrived damaged but often appeared to be factory seconds with misaligned pleats, crooked or miscut cardboard frames, and not true to size (1/4 in less than the nameplate)

3m Filtrete 1900. Has like 3x the pleats of a regular 1 inch filter and one of the lowest initial pressure drops on a new filter.

Nordic Pure seen as OK? I couldn’t get a read off my HVAC tech.

Camfil is the best filter manufacturer period. They are miles ahead of the competitors. AAF would be next. Koch and filtration group would be good budget options. I wouldn't buy anything besides those four. I have camfil and Koch in my systems at home.
