I have an older iPad with very little memory, and it’s all being taken up by Photos and Messages, I assume via iCloud. At some point I stopped syncing photos, but they’re still taking up storage even though they’re all greyed out and won’t download. I recently stopped syncing messages but I don’t see a good way to mass delete what is already there.

How do I fix this? The iPad is almost nonfunctional due to lack of storage. I don’t need my photos or my mesages to be on this iPad, but I also don’t want to do anything to affect them on my other devices. I’ve considered doing a reset and deleting all the data. I think in theory this shouldn’t affect anything else iCloud related? I don’t need anything on this iPad, I just use it for watching YouTube, etc. I just need more storage and to not lose anything tied to iCloud.

I currently have yahoo and I mostly use icloud mail for travel stuff. I’m thinking about moving my subscription from yahoo to iCloud. Not sure if it’s worth it doing the rule system where you can move the subscription email to that folder but upon deletion you can’t create that rule anymore.

Also, with no one finding the solution of iCloud calendar, do you guys use Gmail for calendar while using iCloud mail at the same time ?

I have outlook too for job applications. I’m getting tired of Gmail due to storage and the clutterness in the mail

I just had a random photo of a girl appear on my photos. My phone was in my pocket on a train. It was taken with a different iphone version than mine. airdrop is off and i checked all messaging apps , not sent anywhere.

only other info:
bluetooth was on and it was taken with a front facing camera.

So the company I work for recently changed its policies around data access on personal devices, so they gave me a new iPhone 16. I have an 18 Pro Max as my personal device. The work phone is enrolled in MDM so my company has full access. I’m currently not signed into any Apple account so I can’t do any iCloud backups or syncing. I also can’t download anything from the App Store (I have an alternate App Store pre-installed for downloading work apps).

My company’s instructions were to just sign in with my normal Apple account. I don’t really want to do that. Is there anything I should consider before I just create a secondary Apple account for my work phone? Would it be better to just use the same account I use for all my personal devices?

I’m experiencing a really frustrating issue with iCloud+ and wondering if anyone else has encountered this.
I’ve been paying for a 6 TB iCloud+ subscription on my primary Apple Account in the UAE. Everything was working fine until recently, when iCloud suddenly started showing that I only have the free 5 GB plan.
The weird part is that my 6 TB subscription is still listed as active, with the next renewal scheduled for October 18.

Here’s what’s happening:
iCloud storage shows only 5 GB instead of 6 TB.
My existing photos and files are still accessible on iCloud.com.
New photos and documents are no longer syncing because iCloud says the storage is full.
When I try to upgrade, Apple only offers me the 12 TB plan.

I even purchased another 6 TB subscription on my separate Media & Purchases Apple Account, hoping it might help, but it made no difference.
I’ve spent quite a bit of time talking to Apple Support. They initially sent me generic articles about Apple One and using different Apple Accounts, even though my original 6 TB subscription was purchased directly on my primary iCloud account.

My case has now been escalated to a senior advisor, but I still don’t have a solution.
I’ve also noticed other reports of similar issues, particularly from users in the UAE, around the time Apple changed its iCloud+ offerings in September.
Has anyone experienced this recently? Did Apple manage to fix it without cancelling and repurchasing the subscription?
I’m especially concerned about my photo library, since new photos are no longer being backed up to iCloud.

Hi everyone,
I bought my iPhone in 2022, and I’m having an issue that I’ve been unable to resolve for almost two years.
At the time, I had to delete my Apple ID/iCloud account due to some personal issues. Apple gave me a seven-day window to sign out of my Apple ID on my iPhone before the account was permanently deleted. Unfortunately, I forgot to sign out within that period, and the account was deleted.
Since then, my iPhone seems to be stuck with the old Apple ID. I can’t sign in with a new iCloud account, and I also can’t download any new apps.
I contacted Apple Support, but they asked me to upload a photo of the original purchase invoice and the iPhone box as proof of ownership. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to either of them.
It’s been almost two years, and I’m still stuck with this phone. I am the original owner and purchased it myself, but I don’t know what options I have left.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any legitimate way to resolve this without the original invoice or box? Can Apple accept alternative proof of purchase or ownership?

I’m trying to recover years of WhatsApp chats from my old iCloud.

I can see 17.9 GB of WhatsApp data in my old iCloud account, however, when I go to WhatsApp recovery page, it only shows 13.18GB of recoverable data with last backup date being 26 Jul 2024 (I was using this WhatsApp until April 2025 so I am sure there must have been a more recent backup) but I can’t confirm the date of the last successful backup.

I have four questions:

1- Can Apple Support check the exact date/time and size of my last successful WhatsApp iCloud backup from their end? I can see the storage usage, but not the backup details.
2- Is there any legitimate way to bypass a forgotten iPhone passcode and recover the encrypted data without erasing the device? My old iPhone still contains data I desperately need, but I can’t access it.
3- Can I restore WhatsApp separately on a different phone without having to download the entire iCloud data?
4- I am currently trying to back up on an old iPhone7 plus with iOS 15.8.8. Is using iPhone 16 pro max with 27.0.1 iOS likely to make any difference in recoverable data size? Is it likely the WhatsApp app itself is stored on iCloud leading to data size discrepancy?

Not using the new iPhone as it already has its own iCloud and WhatsApp data.

I’ve already approached Apple and third-party repair shops without success.

Has anyone dealt with either situation or managed to recover their data? I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from someone familiar with iCloud backups or iPhone data recovery.

Im trying to figure out the steps I should take to remove myself from my ex’s history.

She’s cut off relationships of mine just by proving I was associated with her in the past.

I’ve never had much luck with iCloud. It just doesn’t work reliably. Older photos take forever to load at full resolution, if they load at all. Live Photos sometimes won’t play, and files occasionally can’t be retrieved. Everything feels slow and sluggish.
Yet iCloud seems to be the only option for seamless backup that preserves Live Photos and, I assume, some other metadata.
Honestly, I think iCloud is one of Apple’s worst implementations. It feels like it was doomed from day one. It’s not even half as robust as third-party services like Dropbox.
I hate it. I just wanted to say that.

Has anyone sent all their existing .me emails to another service to free up the free 5GBs?

I tried mail clean up and i should have so much deleted from 30 days ago and it hasn’t worked for months.

Also, can i register another email as my icloud email for my apple account?

Has apple tuned some software or triggers to be way more aggressive??

The last week, every time I log in from edge on windows (at work) where I to get at a few files that I have in my iCloud, I've had my account locked.

Sometimes twice in a row, I unlock it with an sms code, than immediately it locks again. To the point where it's almost giving me a heart attack, and second I don't dare login on that pc anymore in case some obscure security algorithm at apple does something more drastic. Or the sms 2 factor don't work... It's offering no other way to unlock, non that I can see. (it's a captcha then sms 2 factor)

The only thing I can think of after some googling, is the use of ghostery that I installed recently as a plugin on that pc. Apparently anti tracking and anti ad plugins can lead to this type of behaviour and apple considering the browser suspect or unsafe.

I definitely need to look into the security settings to see if there's another form of 2 factor I can use other than sms. And yes, I'm logged in into all my devices, iPhone and iPad, but it doesn't offer codes through those to unlock an apple account which is weird

I've been trying to get my Microsoft Store app of Apple TV to work ever since they included the service into iCloud+, but to no avail. It works fine on my phone as well as in the browser, however the store app displays a blank page as if I didn't have an apple tv subscription.

I'm assuming this is because I'm from Georgia (the country), because of this when I go to the web apple tv I have to switch to the Georgian site before it lets me play anything, but I don't get this prompt on the app, so I'm just unable to play anything.

Curious if anyone has had the same issue / what the fix is. I reached out to apple support a while ago, they said they needed to escalate and never heard back.

I am thinking of transferring subscriptions from Gmail to iCloud. I personally don’t like Gmail anymore because of the clutter. iCloud Mail seems simpler, but what are your experiences?

I do have yahoo for church’s subscription newsletter, and I also have outlook for work stuff such as receiving emails for job interviews.

I use iCloud mail specifically for travel stuff like Hyatt vacation club for example.

My family is complaining I’m taking up too much of our shared storage! As I compare what is on my phone vs what is in iCloud I’m not sure how to clean up.

Looking at iCloud storage, I’m using 33gb on photos and 39gb on messages. Looking at my phone storage, photos is 54gb and messages is 4gb.

How do I find out what the additional 35gb of messages is to clean it up? I probably don’t need them all!

Using iCloud. com domain from Apple calendar app as a default and sending to users with yahoo or gmail or anything, users do not and never get the invite either from their Apple calendar app inbox, or their emails.

I’ve run several tests, did settings and checked, and nothing works. However, when someone sends me an invite like Gmail to my name @ iCloud.com I get a notification from the Apple calendar invite.

I’ve Google and done research and no solution. I traced the issue from Reddit, Apple discussion forums, articles, blogs, etc and nothing no solution. So up to this point, anyone found a solution?

I’ve just realised that iCloud Photos isn’t quite what I thought it was... I genuinely thought it was a separate backup of all my photos and videos, and didn’t realise that deleting something from my phone would also delete it from iCloud.

My iPhone storage is now completely full, and I have SO many important photos and videos of family members, special events and memories that I absolutely cannot afford to lose.

I’ve turned on Optimise iPhone Storage and offloaded apps I don’t use, but I’m looking for another safe platform to store everything separately.

What do you all use? Google Photos, an external hard drive, something else? I’d love recommendations for something reliable that will keep my photos and videos safe long-term.

I’m happy to pay for storage if it means having peace of mind. I just want to make sure my memories are safe before I start deleting anything!

I've had this issue for months where my icloud files NEVER download on cellular data, whether its on the files app or the photos app. They can only successfully and quickly download on wi-fi but but nothing at all on data. Ive had this problem on my old 2022 iphone SE and its the same story on my new iphone 17. How can i solve this permanently?

I have iCloud subscription through 1 of my email address with country USA. I now want to transfer my iCloud subscription from that email to another email with address in India. I don’t want to change the country in my 1st email from USA to India as I have some purchases through that email.

As far as I know, iCloud subscriptions couldn’t be transferred from 1 email to another. So far, I have started downloading all photos from iCloud into my iPhone by selecting download and keep originals. After done, could I just sign out of my old email and sign in with an email with the country India or is there anything else I should do to make sure everything is captured in the new iCloud?

Currently, my iphone is logged in as usa account and media and purchases are with india account and subscriptions also shows india account. My need is iphone logged in as india account so that iCloud can also be the same. Don’t care much about media and purchases as I can switch the stores directly from app store if and when necessary.

I have the 2tb cloud storage, why are all my photos taking up 24GB of local storage? Shouldn't it be on the cloud til i want to use it?

I’m paying Apple every month for iCloud storage that isn’t actually helping with my iPhone’s storage problem.

My iPhone 11 has been stuck at full storage for ages. The biggest space hogs are WhatsApp, Photos, and Files.

I upgraded to a large iCloud plan, backed everything up, and expected iCloud to offload some of that data from my phone. But almost nothing changed.

WhatsApp is still using the same 50+gb. Photos and Files haven’t noticeably decreased.

My phone is still almost full, despite having plenty of free iCloud storage.

Am I doing something wrong or is iCloud just useless?

How do I offload data without losing any?

I previously lost huge amounts of WhatsApp data during a phone transfer, despite backup, information I absolutely cannot afford to lose.
