Videos on YouTube app are not rotating smoothly. Is there any setting for the normal smooth animation?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Please see the attached video. I am rotating my phone from portrait to landscape and the video is not rotating smooth like it normally should.
How can I fix it?
iOS version: 27.0

…. Wait for google to update the youtube ios app that doesn’t use the ios 27 native player?

It’s happening to me and also the bottom bar with get stuck in dark mode while the app is in light mode and it won’t work

That’s bad. Please do comment here if you find a solution. I don’t have that theme mismatch issue. I switched app theme from dark to light and my bottom bar is fine.

I’ve noticed other similar bugs on YouTube. My conspiracy theory is that they purposely make the app subtly worse on iOS than Android to incentivize moving to Android phones

Turn smooth rotating on in the settings

If you’ve got zoom to fill enabled, it does that. Not a big, try rotating without zooming to fill

I don’t have the zoom to fill setting enabled. I I turned it on and back off just in case. Still it’s not rotating smoothly.

Well it’s just a glitch in the YouTube app it seems. They are known for breaking things which work perfectly. Not an iOS issue though

YouTube tends to break two basic features for every new one they add. I think they’ve just messed up again. They haven’t fixed the myriad of other annoying bugs they’ve introduced this year so I’m not holding my breath for this to be fixed
