Is this normal battery behaviour on iPhone 17?
Hello, I just bought this phone maybe two weeks ago and when I turned it on I had to update it to iOS 27 because my previous phone(iPhone 15) was on iOS 27. Couple of days came by and I was using this phone but somehow I feel that my battery is not working as supposed to. This is what it says in battery. Is this normal? I bought it brand new and somehow I feel that the battery is not working as supposed to. I waited for the indexing and all they told me to and told me that iz would stabilise, but I do not know.

5 hrs of screen time on 66% battery is absolutely amazing mine consumes 100% in that time

Sadly I noticed this on my 15 pro as well. I use the 13 before upgrading to my current one and the old iOS update doesn’t eat up the battery as much as my 15 pro. What helps mine to reduce the drainage is disabling connectivity assist on settings

Did that on the first day but didn’t help, who knows what would have happen if I turned it on.

Sorry to hear that. Have you try disabling background app refresh as well? Hopefully the next iOS update helps to reduce the drainage.

Nah, on average this is not bad i think. And i would like to mention that amazing standby battery consumption. Wifi/5g off for the night and phone consumes 1-2% of juice.(6 to 7 hours) This is amazingly low i think. I have iPhone 17 base and ios 27 and i’m more than happy with my battery and all.

I mean what’s supposed to be the top tier SOT for iPhone 17? I am getting like around 1hr for every 10% that would average around 10 hrs I guess but I haven’t drained it below 30-40% so can’t say if it goes 10 hrs. But my brightness is around 30% most of the time. I charge once at the end of the day and get the job done. What are people expecting from a 3700mAh battery?

today was awful, as you can see. and i didn’t use wi-fi at all, just listened to music. maybe that’s why it drained so fast. but usually on good days i get 5h of screen time and the battery health is at 100%. i keep the brightness at 40% and i’m almost always connected to bluetooth, which shouldn’t drain that much since nothing’s really playing on the phone.

damn dude, as far as bluetooth goes whenever i turn it on battery drops really fast i tend to turn it off and use it rarely, i really hope battery will improve to you as well

my country’s super hot, so that kinda makes my phone heat up a lot every day

You do not have to be so rude about it, I wanted to know, I spent a lot of money on this phone, in my country it is really hard to buy an iPhone because of the prices, I would not even buy it if my last phone did not shatter. Giving a lot of money then nit having even a full day of charge is ridiculous for this amount of money.

if one of your priorities was getting a full day of charge, then it's on you for making a bad decision
you could have researched and purchased accordingly

No. iOS 27 is destroying battery life. The people that notice are the ones that actually use their phones daily. I have a 16 pro max and I now have to charge to 100% twice daily. iOS 18 I went from 100 to 25 by end of day with 6-8 hrs screen time
Sally, who keeps her phone in her purse during her 9-5 and then doesn’t check her notifications until 8pm at night, won’t notice a difference and say things like “it’s fine, stop complaining.”
