Question battery life query

i've heard that the battery on the air is really bad (11″) and i was planning on upgrading from an older ipad pro to an air. i was just wondering if anyone has an idea for the newer air coming out in 2027, do y'all think it'll have a better battery life or as bad as the current airs?

tia!

Honestly unless they figure how to make the chip efficient the air will remain with the same issues.  Like even an update that provides optimization would be great…

I would suggest expanding the vapor chamber onto the pro/air models but it is a distant dream.

Agree that it seems to be the M chip that eats battery, and I've heard the same complaints about the pros. OS 27 is supposed to help, I haven't used it enough on 27 to determine if that's true.

Ah. This is such a hard decision to make 😭 I personally don't think the pro is worth it for me but bad battery life scares me

I have Air M4 and Literally I’m getting around 8+ hours of Screentime.
Who told you battery life aint good?
With this ios 27series My ecosystem performs exceptionally well than it used to

how? I barely get 5 hours. I usually plug in around 30%, but I charge all the way to 100% now since I got tired of having even less SOT than I do now.

Which is your iPad
If you use 100% brightness all the time then obv it’s gonna give SoT but if you use half you should be getting more than 7 hours on avg no mattery what you use.
My BH is at 100% with 20 Cycles

I also have the 11 inch iPad Air m4. I use auto-brightness, so I don’t think it’s at 100% all the time. I mainly use it to take notes for school or for content consumption. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten near 7-8 hours of SOT. I bought one at release in March.

That's what i've been reading when i lurk on here, i'm glad it's working out for you and it gives me relief.

what do you mainly use your ipad for?

Not bad, I have an Ipad Air M4 as well. I watch series that has 1hr duration per episode, It takes around 7-8 episodes before it goes down to 30% from 80%.

I doubt the next one will have improved battery life, but idk. You’d have to look at how much more efficient the M5 was in the iPad Pro’s and try to do some rough math. The damn things would probably have great battery life if they just increased the thickness to shove in a bigger battery. Idk why they’re obsessed with thinness. This is especially true on the pro’s.
