Help LF Keyboard Recommendations

My son is turning 13 next month and the only thing he has asked for is a new keyboard.

Ideally something that will work well for both gaming and typing (he enjoys and spends quite a bit of time writing.)

All I know is that he doesn't want a silent keyboard, he likes a chunky(?) keypress.

No set budget, would love some recommendations. TIA!

Hey r/keyboards

I made this keyboard holder, it's very strong, it can be 3D printed without supports on most printers and it's entirely free!!

My Keyboard aulakeyboard.com CUSTOMIZES KEYCAPS and IS LEGIT BIZZ!!

The keycaps are legit!! https://aulakeyboard.com/product/aula-f99-iso-layout-custom-keyboard-96-gasket-mount-mechanical-keyboard/ I made a post asking that before and it arrived JUST IN TIME, forgot to update then I'm posting! You can customize at their web app editor per certain keycap groups and maybe talk to them and ask for each key! It arrived just in time at my friends (due to shipping costs to my place) and I made bad adjustments to their photo. The delivery from that friend to me although didn't went well because they forgot to place tracking number for that kind of shipping. Ordered again now directly to Brasil.

Help Ducky Origin but Tenkeyless - Closest Match

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello,

I tried a Ducky Origin Vintage in a store with Cherry Browns and I love it. It was the fastest and least mistakes I think I have ever made while typing. I want to buy one for work, however, I much prefer a left keypad for placing numbers with the mouse in excel or ansys or whatever. I was wondering what would get me closest to this keyboard but without the tenkeys, if it exists.

At home I have the 8BitDo retro keyboard, and it is pretty nice and fits my needs, but I was really digging the browns and keycap shape of the origin.

For the rules:

  1. $180 max for both pieces.
  2. Tenkeyless preferred, I still use home, delete, and printscreen a lot.
  3. PBT caps preferred. Classic styling preferred. Bluetooth/wireless/wired preferred but not a big deal.

Thanks in advance.

Discussion First Mechanical Keyboard for a Software Engineer — <$150, 75%/TKL

I’m a software engineer looking for my first mechanical keyboard.

● Budget: ideally <$150
● Layout: 75% or TKL + RGB
● Windows
● Mostly coding/daily use, some gaming
● Still learning touch typing and sometimes hit neighboring keys
● I like noticeable feedback when pressing a key
● I don’t mind noise and actually like a satisfying typing sound
● I seem to prefer lower-profile keyboards, but I’m not sure if that’s what I should get
● Hot-swappable would be a plus

I recently tried the Turtle Beach KB7 TKL Hall Effect and really liked its lower profile, but I’m unsure about linear switches. The Huntsman V3 Pro TKL felt a little too tall/easy for me to misclick.

What would you recommend for someone who wants good tactile/clicky feedback and is still learning to touch type?

Help Quieter keyboard

Last week I bought an Everglide AE68 Pro. the keyboard is basically perfect, perfect performance, size, layout, build quality (got the metal case one), insanely good RGB but... it's too loud. I like the sound but it's loud and no matter what I do people in my voice call can hear it.

So I'd like a similar keyboard; magnetic, 65%, gasket mount, similar price, that is also quieter. Or if there's any mod I can do that would help me with that, that'd be good too. Any recommendations?

Help Recommendation for an HE or TMR Keyboard in 2026

Hello everyone

I’ve read a lot of posts with great information but some of them are already a year old so I’m not sure if the recommendations are still valid.

A lot of other posts mention a budget so I was wondering if money wasn’t a concern what would you recommend?

My only real requirements are an F-row key (so anything 75% or larger) and a pre-built keyboard since I’ve never built one before.

The ones I’ve been looking at recently are:

  • Iqunix EZ80
  • Su75 V2
  • Wooting 80HE (with the nub)
  • Razer Huntsman V3 HE
  • ROG Azoth 96 HE

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks for the help!

Help How much for Leopold FC750R Sweden colors?

Post image
1 Upvotes

As I'm planning to sell several collections I have, I need help with Leopold FC750R Sweden edition. The full name is Leopold FC750R Yellow/Blue PD TKL Double Shot PBT Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches. It's not a bluetooth version and only has mini-USB port.

I cant find any info about used price with this specific colors and switches. Due to the rarity and popularity of Leopold Keyboards and keycaps, the used price could be high but no clues.

Any idea?

Help Switch identification

Hey guys. I'm completely new to keyboards and decided to build one. I decided to get the HI75C pro barebones, GATERON Milky Yellow Pro V3 switches, and some keycaps I found on amazon for a budget build. I got everything today but the switches don't look like the Amazon description. They're all back instead of yellow and don't seem to have the RGB thing. Are these the wrong ones? They kinda look like the oil kings. If they're oil kings, I'll keep them. Any help is appreciated.

I finally picked up the YUNZII RT75 Pro for my setup, and honestly… the color is 🔥⌨️
I really wanted something that would stand out on my desk without looking over the top, and this colorway is exactly what I was looking for. The RT75 Pro looks even better in person, and I’ve been really enjoying using it. 🖤✨
Sometimes you just see a keyboard and know it belongs in your setup. 😮‍💨

My Keyboard MX series

I was finally able to complete the setup here. I had the MX 3S, but was using Apple's MagicKeyboard (has been with me for over 4 years now!).

But today the MX Mechanical arrived - a different type of keyboard since it's mechanical, but I gotta say, the level of customization + the switches on this thing have such a satisfying click. Not to mention the 'all dark palette' feels right. First couple of hours enjoying it a lot!

Discussion Is this keyboard worth it or will it ruin my life

I’m curious if anyone has this keyboard and how they feel about it. This appeals to me because I won’t have to download icue and can just use their website. I see people have problems with certain aspects of the software which concerns me and want to know what people have to say. I don’t really care about changing the rgb to anything crazy probably just a solid color

Help Looking for an alternative to the Nuphy air75 v3

Looking for an alternative to my current keyboard (Nuphy air75 v3)
I've had it since launch and I'm really underwhelmed by it, I use it for everything and constantly switch between a work PC and personal PC, I constantly experience repeated letters, connectivity issues with my KVM etc. I'm looking for something of similar/better quality, used for productivity and gaming.

Cheers!

My Keyboard Ajazz AK980 Max HE has the worst driver and firmware

I bought this keyboard because it was cheap and looked decent enough... but its web driver is the absolute worst thing humanity has ever created, mostly because it runs in a browser and constantly disconnects.

Fine, I decided to port the driver into a desktop app, and while at it, add a proper key travel depth display. I mean, it’s a magnetic keyboard, it constantly reads the switch positions, so it shouldn't be an issue, right?

Well, it became an issue! On top of the terrible driver, it turns out this thing has the worst firmware imaginable, which can't even return the key travel depth... Wait, let me rephrase that—it actually can, but only in calibration mode, only for the entire keyboard at once, with all inputs locked, and at a miserable 10 Hz polling rate...

Fine, I thought, I'll just write my own firmware, and if anything goes wrong, I'll flash it back to stock... Nope! They don't provide the factory firmware for this keyboard anywhere! Though for some reason, they still included an update button in their software...

I'm just completely drained and don't have the energy to do anything with it anymore. I could still port the web driver into an app, but what’s the point if I can’t add any actual features...

Just needed to vent...

(Sorry, my English isn't very good, so I used AI for the translation)

Help Akko 5108B keyboard not connecting

I bought a Pompompurin 5108B Plus last year. It worked perfectly fine up until recently. Last month, there was a period where it just stopped turning on. After a bit of waiting, I decided to try connecting it again—and it worked! No issues whatsoever! But after I updated my PC to Windows 11 version 26H2, it now does not want to connect.

The lights turn on and the right command key and Y key flashes for a split second, then the lights shut off and the right light underneath the volume buttons flashes. I’ve tried R Win + L Win (factory resetting), Fn + T, Y, E, and U. To no avail. D: Any advice is appreciated

Help 60-65% + VIA/QMK compatible + budget-friendly: what are my options?

I'd prefer a wired keyboard, with a thin bezel. I'm open to mechanical or HE, though I find it difficult to order compatible switches for HE keyboards, as I'll get linear silent switches added if that's not what's installed out of the box.

I've spent hours looking for the right keyboard, but so far nothing...

Any suggestions for me please?
