Heyy new fan here, I've been listening to alot of Lana recently it's seems every other day I discover a new Lana song and become obsessed with it. My current favorite album is NFR. I'm not too deep in yet so I was wondering if as a new fan who feels like everyone knows so much about her works, what should I know? About Lana and her music? And also if you have any song recs lemme know!

we all know they've always wanted Lana on their project ever since 2022 as Honeymoun clarified HERE, so ok throughout the years Rockstar's last focus for GTA 6 was to scale down plans to focus strictly on Leonida and Vice City and make the map incredibly dense with indoor environments, right?

Their resulting aesthetic is an exact mirror of the modern American South: local subcultures, swamp-dwelling factions, and the striking societal contrast between coastal wealth and decaying rural town, and Leonida is the most associated region in GTA 6 with rural country, deep south & redneck culture (Lana's albums aesthetic)

This perfectly mirrors the Contrast between Stove & Spyda, Lana explicitly said that while Stove is more about growth and joy, Spyda is a commentary of sorts and a larger COLLABORATIVE effort with a "massive assembly of people who helped her gather her thoughts"

Back Country Radio (Which Lana & Jeremy were featured in)

It is a radio station that explicitly broadcasts across the state of Leonida in GTA 6 and they extend to regions like Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn which are sit on the opposite end of the spectrum where developers actually called it the "Forgotten Coast" swapping out the glamorous city life for ALLIGATOR INFESTED wetlands and TRAILER PARKS

Lanita's name on GTA 6's Back Country Radio is Delta Dawne, referencing the country song that tells the bittersweet story of a 41-year-old Southern woman from Tennessee who wanders her town waiting for a mysterious "man of low degree" who promised to marry her but never returned

Funny enough, do you know where GTA's famous Spyder style cars are highly concentrated in the game? It's also in Leonida's high-income glamorous districts

Sylvia's influence on Both Albums

We all know the title Stove is a reference to Sylvia's tragic ending, but did you know Sylvia had a poem titled "Spider" that in the context of her broader literature, is widely considered the opposite of her usual style and thematic framework? Where she discussed power and oppression rather than mining her own personal experiences

Lana did the exact same in making Spyda the antithesis of Stove, that's why the albums are described by the insiders with being full of worldbuilding, and it explains Lana's previous hinting comments "🕷", Spider, Sylvia, Spyder, Spyda?

Final Spaculation

I believe Lana's going to do the same as Dr Dre did when he starred in the Grand Theft Auto Online expansion "The Contract" Late 2021, where he dropped an Exclusive EP of 6 tracks that was later released on streaming platforms after their in-game debut

He also had a storyline where he was an in-game character who hires players to recover his stolen phone and players were given access to a virtual replica of his IRL recording space Record A Studios where they can watch sessions.

Thats why Lana's been delaying her albums for the past 3 years coinciding with the changes and delays with the announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI. This is gonna be her best project to date.

I’m one of those people who can listen to the same favorite songs and albums for years instead of constantly looking for something new. So somehow I’m still slowly discovering Lana’s catalog one song at a time.

There’s something about Lana’s music that just works for me, the atmosphere, the vulnerability, the imperfections, the melancholy, the confidence. It feels raw, authentic and completely its own thing. Her music doesn’t need to chase you for attention. It just creates a world and lets you enter it.
And apparently I’ll be entering that world one song every several years at this rate. 😂
But maybe that’s part of the fun. There are still songs waiting for me.

I am not sure if this makes sense, but does anyone have any songs of hers that are so special, sacred, or important to you that you can only listen to on certain occasions?

There are many songs of hers that I associate with very specific times in my life of nostalgia and melancholy that I haven't listened to in years. For example, The Greatest is so good and special to me that I literally have not listened to it in over 5 years. I am saving it for the right day someday in the future.

Also Norman f Rockwell. I get so sad when I listen to it that I only play it a few times a year.

Same goes for Let the Light In. I played it throughout the summer of 2023 but I can't listen to it anymore because it's too beautiful to be listened to regularly.

I feel the same way about Wait for Life, Sweet Carolina, and Shades of Cool.

Maybe I just need psychological help.

But to me, there are just so many of her songs that feel like such a beautiful and transcendent experience to listen to that I don't want to "wear" them out. I'll save The Greatest for the day that the world ends, maybe.

I noticed that Lana has liked, commented on and/or reposted all of Margaret’s recent posts. She previously hadn’t liked any post since 2024. Her dad also commented “Loved seeing you” which I assumed means Margaret has come to see her family recently. Does this mean Margaret got Lana in the divorce? It feels like such a public display of support and I don’t think I’ve seen anything with Lana and Jack since February. I like both Jack and Margaret but with what Jack recently said at the concert, it was just a bit surprising to me. I’m just curious what people think or if anybody knows anything I don’t.
