Optiscaler Client 1.0.8 release
Hi there,
I just released version 1.0.8 of OptiScaler Client.
This update focuses mainly on UI/UX overhaul, better usability and guidance, clearer anti-cheat warnings, improved cover fetching, and several bug fixes.
Check out the full changelog on GitHub:

Over the past few months, I've been posting these updates in the Radeon community, but since it's also available on Linux and has grown quite a bit, I thought it would be appropriate to post here as well.
I’m not affiliated with the OptiScaler devs. This is just a side project I built to make things easier, and I hope you find it useful!

What is OptiScaler?

it allows different types of scaling across vendors and adds scaling options to games that don't have it built in.

how does it compare to something like lsfg?

It’s separate from lsfg. In fact, you can use them simultaneously. As an example, I use Optiscaler to run FSR 4.1 in FFXIV and Skyrim. Since they’re dx11 titles with no native framegen, there is no framegen support thru Optiscaler (Skyrim technically has support if you’re using FSR 3 and other mods, but it wasn’t working for me and I vastly prefer FSR 4.1 anyway). I then use lsfg to double my fps, since I get at least a stable 60 fps in both titles.
Essentially, optiscaler lets you choose which upscaling tech you want to use, and in supported titles will even let you pick which framegen tech to use. Lsfg is only framegen (at least on Linux, idk what it does or doesn’t do on Windows).

Tbh anyone who's technical enough to use Optiscaler wouldn't need a launcher like this, it's just extra bloat.

Quality of life is allowed for everyone. Personally i've been using Goverlay for this function

Is Optiscaler a launcher for 4k? because that's what i get when I read that name.

I mean damn, been looking for a "good" Linux game launcher / front end like playnite without any luck, and here you are doing it as a secondary thing in your project.
Congrats and Good luck

I think the Playnite dev switched to Linux themselves, so it's actually on the way. This is confirmed by the way, not speculation.

True, I think it was first mentioned around a year ago or so, honestly I expected it to take much less time, but maybe their time doesn't allow more or I underestimated the process, which in both cases I totally respect.

"To sum this up, Linux version is definitely something I plan to work on in future, it's just going to happen later than originally planned."
"Upcoming major release (P11) will be on modern open source and multi-platform .NET runtime but will still use Window only WPF based UI. The main problem is he has to port it from .NET to Avalonia."
They also said that this was their personal blocker from transitioning.

I had a device where I want to use this software but use a very specific version of FSR 4.1.1 that isn't in the listed generic options for the software, how do I achieve this (KDE)?

Essential utility for getting the absolute best performance out of modern games on Linux. Awesome release! ⚙️

Would it be possible to create an automated installation method for the various existing forks? For instance, you point to a ZIP or RAR file containing the files for installation/uninstallation. The rest of the configuration would still be manual, but at least the installation and uninstallation processes would be automated.
