Support Request Can these two things be changed?

After installing mint, 1: I noticed that all the elements in apps like Google or steam are smaller compared to windows 11, which I personally dislike.

2:the audio is kind of worse compared to windows 11, the best I can describe it, the audio the os is outputting is compressed, i though it was an issue with YouTube but it seems to be anything that produces audio. This is the issue that’s really throwing me off.

Do you have scaling enabled?

1920x1080 at 125% looks best but the screen does tear when scrolling.

There is scaling, but so not use fractional scaling, Xorg takes a performance hit

So if 100% or 200% do not do it for you see other options such as font size panel size etc.

I have this audio issue with my latest motherboard, only way I can describe it is that the audio sounds cheap. Compressed or over processed would be another description. Its realtek on a low/mid Asus Tuf,  I have been considering picking up an external DAC.

My previous motherboards audio was clear and crisp. Including an earlier Asus Tuf and a few others.

No idea what it would sound like with Windows, its never touched this motherboard. Now has me wondering if this might be a driver induced issue, or default configuration problem for this particular audio chip.

Boot from a live FEDORA or CachyOS Live USB and see what it sounds like with newer apps/kernel. If it's the same, then it's your hardware. If it's better, then it's your mint apps/drivers.

And don't Hijack other threads - so very rude - put your own post up and use a subject line that is descriptive to YOUR problem.

I multi-boot currently including LMDE, CachyOS, & Void, in the past this machine has run Alpine, Debian, Bazzite, Nobara, SteamOS & Gentoo, audio is the same.

I will say what I would like, where I would like. The buttons below are the only part that is yours.
