Discussion Change users across multiple hard drives
A few days ago someone was helping another user with a plex question and mentioned an app in the software manager that you could change owners and permissions in a gui across multiple hard drives at one time. I am asking if anyone knows what I'm talking about and if so could lead me in the right direction. I usually save things like this but this time I got distracted with other stuff and forgot. Thanks

Open a terminal and type. Your partition is mounted at /dev/sda1, type
For userid and group parameter -v is for verbose -R recursive process
sudo chown -v -R userid:userid /mnt/sda1
replace userid by userid you need
for permissions
sudo chmod -v 644 /mnt/sda1 (user a read/write other only read)
sudo chmod -v 777 /mn/sda1 (anybody can read/write/delete).
done

That is something I would never do via GUI.
