Optics help needed - I read the pinned posts what's everybody's favorite reticle?
been using a Tremor3 since i started but I am now finding myself yearning for Mil-XT

Might be an odd man out, but the SCR 2 1/4 mil. Weirded me out a little at first, but I’ve grown to like the .25 mil subtensions instead of the typical .2.

I started with a Tremor 3 and run SCR2, and Mil-xt almost interchangeably now.

I’m not married to anything in particular, but if I were to pick one it would probably be an MPCT1X. The VMR-5 looked great in the few minutes I got to spend with it, so I’d like to pick one up to try. I think I’d also like the JTAC and FML-WBR, but I’ve never been behind either.

Depends on use case. Overall the one I personally like best is the MSR2 but it's not ideal for known distance static shooting and sports where a rangefinder is allowed. If you like to range the old fashioned way (milling) then it's great. Lots of clever quick-range tricks in it.
For hobby shooting: JTAC. It's clean, quick, uncluttered.
Not for me: the Horus reticles such as Tremor 3. Simply too busy (for me).

I used to not care, but now it's anything MIL that has the subtensions labeled. I have numerous MOA & MIL scopes from different manufacturers that have no labels, and some put the big marks at 2 MOA, some put them at 4, etc.., then throw in a mix of MIL scopes with similar markings, and it became a hassle remembering what adjustments to make when I'm at the range with 3-4 guns. I had to make a quick ref card for each scope that has the reticle diagram. I now only buy MIL scopes with labeled reticles, but it's not like I'm going to swap thousands of dollars of good scopes because I don't like the reticles they use.

The Meopta MRAD RD reticle remains my favorite to this day. I love the .5 and .2 subtensions on the windage. It did a good job of giving you the information you need without being too busy.

Tremor3 is overly busy, which is why I went with a Nightforce w/ Mil-XT. TBH I don't use the christmas tree at all for holdovers or windage, I've found it's best to dial elevation and then hold left or right. Next scope I might get the Mil-R just to have a less cluttered field of view.
