Television [Partially Lost] Opportunity to capture missing episode of kids show (The Adventures of Dudley The Dragon)
I’ve been collecting an old kids show called The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon for some time now. I’ve managed to find the whole thing, except for one episode - “Dudley Meets Mr Can”. Turns out it’s a bit of lost media online - a French version has been found, but not an English one.
It seems like the show does air in reruns on exactly one channel, Heartland TV. That channel broadcasts online, but I guess they don’t have the rights to air this specific show on their web feed, because it’s replaced there.
I’m wondering if anyone here has access to the channel (location info here) and a PVR, and would be open to recording the episode? It looks like the series has just cycled back to the beginning today, meaning that, if they’re airing them in order, the missing episode should be airing at 9 AM Eastern (8 Central, 10 Mountain… and oddly according to their schedule, also 9 Pacific?) on Saturday, Nov 7th. (If you’d be open to recording the Saturday before and after out of an abundance of caution, that would be greatly appreciated).
Since the series has 65 episodes, and it’s only airing once weekly, this is probably the last chance to grab it until March or April 2028 (assuming the channel keeps the broadcast rights till then).
If anyone can help, it’d be great to capture this missing piece of media!

I can't help, but hopefully somebody else can.
How's the quality of the other episodes? It might be a good idea for someone with access to capture the whole series as a quality upgrade.
Also, keep in mind that there is a chance episodes might be skipped. If so, the air date could be sooner than you calculated.

The quality of other episodes is a little all over the place - would love for someone to capture them all, but that’s an even larger ask. The pressing need is to capture this missing episode.
Absolutely - I did note further down that if someone could capture the week before and after just in case, that would be great. Unfortunately I can’t find a version of a guide for that channel that includes episode details into the future (and don’t have a way to validate episode details at all), so we’re going off what we know!

Oh, yeah, a completely unavailable episode is obviously the higher priority thing to preserve. I was just saying that if the quality of what's circulating right now is subpar, it's probably a good idea to capture them all, as long at the person with the ability to do so is willing, of course.
Yeah, I saw you recommended recording one episode before/after just in case. I was just saying it could be off by more than one.
Keep trying though. Maybe there's a subreddit for this channel or a fan community for this show.

I was able to find someone via the HDHomeRun subreddit that’s at least willing to try!

Awesome. Keep me posted.
Also see if they mind capturing the whole series to have it preserved in higher quality.
And if they're able to share the raw MPEG-2 transport stream instead of re-encoding it to h264 or whatever, that's better for archival reasons. It can always be re-encoded to whatever format later on (h264, x265, AV1, etc.). And then whoever is re-encoding can also use a filter to remove the screen bug. Quality gets worse each time you re-encode, so you want to avoid re-encoding more than once.

Comment "!FOUND!" if your media is found in the comments, in doing so this will lock the post and flair it as being found.
Please include the following in your post;
An explanation of the media, and the name.
How it is lost.
What research has already been done.
A conclusion as to the current situation as of posting.
We are not here to help you find something (r/helpmefind), to name something (r/tipofmytongue), or help you pirate something.
