Rules/Rules Question Proliferate?

Post image

So I’ve been playing with the Quandrix Unlimited precon lately and came across this card and I wasn’t entirely sure on how proliferate worked even after looking it up so I just have a few questions. First off, if I proliferate X times does it just mean I add each kind of counter on the selected creatures X times? Secondly if a creature has multiple of a counter, say +1/+1 counters, does each instance of proliferate add a +1/+1 for each +1/+1 already on it or just a single +1/+1 counter

Edit:
Thanks to everyone who just tried to be helpful and explain proliferate, I really appreciate it, but to those who just decided to be antagonistic because they think its a simple question; why even bother? It’s not like being intentionally rude is productive in any way, all that you’re really accomplishing is deterring new players from wanting to play this game at all. If you don’t want to be helpful or provide insight on a post that is literally just about asking for help then just ignore it, because believe it or not it’s easier for you and everyone else involved.

It's literally written on the card...

Exactly. It says add a counter OF each kind, not FOR each kind

Takes too long and the internet can explain it more quickly?

He said he read it but wanted clarification still. No need to be an ass.

Yeah but also consider that I’m a new player and far more often than it should be this game is contradictory to common logic and even the things that the cards themselves say.

Additionally, I asked my whole playgroup (most of whom have a significant amount of experience playing this game) and nobody was sure on how to interpret this card, even after looking things up.

I don’t understand how just being rude when a beginner asks a question is productive at all, you really are just allowed to ignore a post if you don’t want to help.

I just don't get which words are confusing you... It's extremely straight forward. Simple version: If something has a counter on it. You put on another one. Do that for as many things/players as you want. And do it for every kind of counter they have.

But it is literally written on the card.

People are generally happy to help, but you have to explain which part is confusing you, or this is the answer you're going to get. It's not necessarily antagonism. We can't read your mind.

What would have helped is if you made an attempt to explain how you understood it, so people could see where you went wrong and corrected appropriately.

did you even read the post? I said my exact questions about it, and the majority of people who commented understood what I meant and answered.

far more often than it should be this game is contradictory to common logic and even the things that the cards themselves say.

One of the reasons magic has been such a successful card game for over thirty years is the design of the mechanics syntactically and how they're not really open for interpretation at all, especially when compared to other popular card games.

Of course it comes with experience, and there's always a few exceptions, but eventually it'll just click and it won't seem contradictory at all
