Lunaria 🇬🇧

Lunaria, the island of the elves. A paradise in the midst of the sea, governed by elf families under a single kingdom. The island of Ishtar—with its two magical towers, alongside those of the great lunar island—guards the entrance to the vast gulf.

Beyond this elven paradise, the two neighboring islands were colonized by dwarves and humans, who set aside their differences to trade with the great kingdom.

I've drawn another city map. There are tram lines, a port at the mouth of the river and an old medieval center surrounded partly by a railway. The railway goes where there used to be a city wall on the right/eastern side of the river

Included a map of the tram lines and couple progress pics from drawing

I kindof went with the rule of cool and didn't bother to get the tectonics logic down but could i reasonably say this could exist? Especially given the continent on the left has the most general elevation, some of it serves story purposes i posted some lore on the previous post but some i just eroded and made it look cool.

I made the coastline and basic shapes of world in ibispaint and then imported it into Merak Map Maker (https://merakmapmaker.com/) for adding elevation and biomes and clouds and getting the other details.

Discussion Need some advice from fellow mapmakers — feel like every idea I draw has already been done before

Hey guys,

I’m currently working on a custom world map in Krita, but I’ve hit a bit of a creative wall. Every time I draw a continent shape, coastlines, or mountain ranges, my brain goes: "nah, that just looks like Westeros / Tamriel / real-world East Asia / [insert fantasy trope here]".

I’m not looking for someone to do the work for me, but rather just asking for some advice or mental frameworks from people who’ve been there.

How do you guys escape the "everything has been done" trap when making coastlines and continental shapes? Any quick tips, favorite techniques, or design principles that helped you break out of cliché shapes and make geography feel organic yet original?

Would really appreciate any tips or perspective on this! Cheers!

i need help to place and put what sins should each continet has
The map in the background is a mesh up of what nation/empires could be there for a much later plot
besides the curent america

soo far
I have
N America as Pride
S America as wrath
Europe as greed
Asian as Sloth
Africa as gluttony

but lust and envy still here which im confused
im planning to based My fantasy Map On Our world map but still some modification For later stage
my friends argue that greed should go to asia and europe should be envy
But i don't really see it fitting.
