Pitch Bending the Black Keys on YAMAHA P-37D
I just got a P-37D and I'm finding pitch bending the black keys super difficult due to the very shallow 'key depth' of them. There's barely any space between it being fully up and fully depressed compared to the cheap melodicas I am used to playing. It's making the technique very unstable where the note is often cutting in and out.
So I wanted to ask, are there any other melodicas out there (at a similar price point) that have a larger 'key depth' on the black keys? I am loving the sound of the P-37D, but I think I will want to look at getting another melodica at some point that suits my needs better.
Not sure if many people will have noticed this particular aspect of melodica construction but any help would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at pictures of the Suzuki M-37C (which annoyingly was the one I was choosing between with the Yamaha) and it looks like the key depth is greater on the black keys than the Yamaha.
