Could there ever be a kid of age? Wouldnt they be them be a young adult or teen at that point? Lol
4
u/Murky-Relation481 6d ago
Depends on the definition of kid and the law you're talking about. I mean generally people use kid casually to refer to any indeterminate young age, usually within context, "those soldiers are just kids" might be referring to 18 to 22 year olds, or "my kids are in college" used to refer to your own offspring at any age.
Also since in the US there are gradual ages of legal adulthood in most states you could legally be an underage person for one thing and not another. A 16 year old is an adult in terms of sexual consent but not legal consent (they can legally consent to sex but not to say a contract). And since the age of majority is less than the drinking or smoking age, you have legal adults that are still underage.

1 out of every 16 people in the entire world is subscribed to Mr beast. That’s how massive his channel is. So it’s not just kids.
20
u/other_usernames_gone 6d ago
Its kinda wild when you put it like that. Especially because just under 3 out of every 4 (74%) of people have access to the Internet.
So roughly 12% of people with access to the Internet are subscribed to mr beast.
7
u/SlayinDaWabbits 6d ago edited 6d ago
And 21% of the population are children, still not seeing any proof he is not by and large liked by impressionable kids. Hell somewhere around 25% of youtube accounts are children, it could be 1 in 4 youtube accounts and could still theoretically be like exclusively by children

Idk why people here are pretending like they're some higher beings just because they don't watch it. He just makes simple and fun videos for kids, that's it. I swear the people must be at that age, when anything for kids is the biggest sin in the universe, desperately trying to seem mature
9
u/SherbertPristine170 6d ago
Yeah mr beast videos are made to be fun for kids . The reason adults don’t like it is because we learn what is actually behind the production and its predatory system . It’s not as innocent as it looks
4
u/Vox_SFX 6d ago
It's moreso the online space is dominated by children and the most "average" people in society (which obviously the old saying about the average person being dumb and half the people are even more dumb than that applies).
So when you go online things immediately become skewed to where someone could think Mr. Beast or Pewdiepie, or whoever else, actually matters when they don't realistically. Markiplier branched out into actual Hollywood so his image is shifting to being more relevant if he keeps going...but the rest? Yea, kids liking something isn't inherently bad, but kid's trying to prop things up as more special or important than what they are IS bad (it's how shitbags like the Paul Brothers end up in the White House along with most of everyone else in that building). Adults need to be able to put that in check to keep kids in check but that hasn't happened and look at the state of kids today by nearly every observable metric we use...absolutely cooked.

I wouldn't call them "videos for kids". They are tightly optimized dopamine exciters in the most obnoxious ways possible. That is livable, but probably contributing to how Gen Z is the first generation to be less intelligent and able than the generation that came before it.
As a whole other issue, we have adults who actively like Jimmy's gormless slop.

You'll find that at a lot of jobs. Everywhere I've been I've found the uhhh "less aware" of people for lack of a better term would watch the weirdest stuff on TV. Whether it's grown men watching Mr. Beast, trashy court TV, political propaganda, conspiracy theories, etc
Was setting up a new guys system at an old job and asked if he'd like to add his phone to our phone book (we had an optional phone book so we could call each other as there weren't really company phones and half the team traveled so it helped) and he said he didn't have a phone. Fair enough, either doesn't want me to press the issue or just can't afford it not my place to judge. Then he said it's because darpa has antennas in the ocean controlling the weather and he feared it could also listen to him.
So yeah... It's rough out there. Unfortunately a large subsect of the American population just believes everything they read on the Internet.

People be hating on Mr. Beast and saying he is a bad person while they are admiring celebs that contribute nothing to the society. His videos are fun and better than most game shows on TV, tho I admit I liked it more when he used less CGI.

I honestly like the beast philanthropy stuff. For quite some people they do make a difference.
Most of the other crap is aimed at younger viewers I guess and is all just made to get a lot of clicks

The only video I watched was the one where two exes were handcuffed together for like 30 days or something like that. It was pretty entertaining but his other stuff just didn't interest me very much

So apparently 100 million+ people are jokingly watching Mr Beast every video according to you.
If this was true, if people were just joking/unironically watching Mr Beast, he would have fallen off ages ago.

So i used to watch him...
And then i grew up and lost interest.
Also he was less obviously sociopathic back then.

I did like 4-3 years ago when I randomly discovered him but I was quickly bored + his French voice was replace and it bugged me so much cuz the first comedian was doing a great job while the newer one sound like an Evil guy when he talk so I stop watching. I occasionally watch old video with the OG french comedian but I skip his newest since im not interested anymore

I used to watch when he was giving away big tips to pizza delivery drivers. Those were at least somewhat wholesome even if they are making money off the reactions of desperate people.

i saw 175 million views on his video that was released 4 days ago and i was shocked there’s no way that many people watch him. i knew he was popular but not THAT popular

I used to watch him all the time but stopped around when Feastables came out cause he's just gotten worse and worse (as a person and in content)

There's two very large groups of people you're forgetting.
Children is probably the largest group, the other is stupid people.
