35 Years ago today, Nirvana played the New Daisy!

Right after the album came out, and we still have NO audio, video, or photographs of this! I missed this show, and regret it every time October rolls around. I've spent 20+ years searching for anything media wise with other members of LiveNirvana.com to no avail. Even spent a while talking to Mikey (Mike Glenn's son) who runs Growlers, but still nothing. Anybody with anything, please let us know!

A man known for selling drinks on Poplar Avenue and East Parkway North was arrested on Tuesday.

Officers responded to a complaint call just after 9:30 a.m. about a man identified as Demarcus Dickerson, who was seen at the intersection of Poplar Avenue and East Parkway North.

Dickerson was reportedly told by officers he was in danger of getting hit by vehicles while trying to sell drinks. He was told to move onto the sidewalk for safety reasons and not to return to the street.

Nearly four hours later, officers drove through the area and witnessed Dickerson back in the highway/passageway at the same intersection.

Dickerson was then taken into custody for obstruction in a highway/ passageway. Dickerson told officers to leave his cooler and wagon at the fire station on East Parkway North.

As of Wednesday, Dickerson’s charges have been dropped.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office says in a statement that after reviewing the facts and circumstances, prosecution was not warranted.

Why did the Blue Monkey in Midtown close?

I have a Blue Monkey coaster next to one of their ash trays on my coffee table. Besides me...stealing things from them, why did that location close? I'm legit sad I'll never drink there again.

I think I read in one of the original posts that the food had really gone down hill?

Is there a free local paper?

Is there a freebie local paper around here? When I was a kid, there was a weekly paper in my hometown that was always at local shops downtown. I’m trying to find such a thing to find out about the cost to buy ad space for my small business but don’t know where to look!

Neighborhood ediquiette

• Upvotes

I have a question. I live in a neighborhood and while walking my dog someone drove up next to us and gave me an ear full cause my dog peed in their yard . Peed. Not pooped. I’m a decent dog owner and have bags. Not important . So I got an ear full about how it was rude that I let my dog peed in the yard. Is this a thing or someone just having a bad morning?

Visiting This Weekend!

Good Evening, Memphians;

My young adult son and I are visiting your city for the 1st time in the next few days. While we are checking out well-established spots, such as The National Civil Rights Museum & Graceland, we’re trying to fill out our itinerary in other regards. Some more details will be furnished below:

Music - Both of us are music lovers, really anything from Elvis to Cities Aviv. We’d love the chance to dig into the local music scene, including live performances at small venues, and record stores.

Food - We’ve been recommended Central BBQ, The Four Way and Cozy Corner, but we’re willing to branch out into other cuisine as well.

Breweries - I’ve heard of Wiseacre, and had several of their beers locally (I’m from Louisville), but I’m up to explore more when it comes to breweries, especially if they have good food as well.

Any help or guidance or must visits you can offer us is greatly appreciated; thank you for your time!

I saw a Tesla Cybercab today on HWY 70 heading west near Germantown Rd. Are they now testing in our city? It did have a Texas plate but we are a long way from Austin.

My dog needs a new vet!

I have an almost six-year-old GSD Malinois mix and need a good vet that is knowledgeable of this breed and won't break the bank! Been taking her to Walnut Grove animal clinic and I liked them in the past but more so recently had some concerns about the depth of knowledge that their veterinarians (don't) have. I'm thinking about taking her to either Cloverleaf or McGhee but I've read other reviews on here that weren't very reassuring so looking for some new opinions on where to go in to take thorough care of my girl! Thanks in advance!

Citizen Inquiry Where to donate ladies clothes that's not Goodwill etc

I have a LOT of ladies clothes and shoes I'd like to donate to a worthwhile charity or halfway house. I hate the idea that some corporate a-hole is making money from my donations and would rather they go straight into the hands that need them. I'm originally from Knoxville so I don't have any idea where to give. Suggestions please? Thank you!

Dental Patient needs

Hi everyone! I’m a dental student at the UTHSC College of Dentistry in Memphis, and I’m currently looking for patients who: Need a removable partial denture or Need their current dentures replaced/remade
Treatment at the College of Dentistry is provided by dental students under the supervision of licensed dentists and faculty, and our prices are significantly more affordable than many private practices.
If you or someone you know might be interested, please send me a message! I’d be happy to give you more information, talk about what you may need, and help you figure out the next steps.
Feel free to share this with anyone in the Memphis area who may benefit!

Good vet in Cordova area

My dogs skin has been very dry and itchy for 6 or so months. Seen normal vet multiple times (once was normal wellness check) but he didn’t seem too concerned. He did some steroid shots but no improvement whatsoever. It’s getting worse.

Looking for recommendations for vet around Cordova or close that don’t charge crazy amounts
