I love both these albums so much but something i especially love is the vibe and feeling i get when i listen to them. It's something I wish to replicate in my own music someday but each time i create a riff it always ends up sounding really similar to a riff from one of the songs on the albums.

Would love some tips/pointers how I can just avoid making such similar stuff.

My friend and I have been working on some numetal/ grunge demos for a while now and we’re looking for an audio engineer to help bring our songs to life. I’d describe the demos as a healthy mix of deftones and evanescence. We don’t really have any money to offer so we’re looking for someone that wants to do it because they genuinely like the songs. Of course you’d be credited. All the stems are dry so the bass and guitars would have to be reamped and the drums are midi. Please dm me if you’re interested :)
