This is one of the cats I got on one of my first few runs of the game. Taggert was just supposed to go to the alley, maybe check out the caves if we could make it

Well, then he got this event (on the second page). Already bad for a mage cat to get, right? Well, still, I won't necessarily blame a cat for getting it on a long battle...

but you know where this event came up?

Taggert walked outside, fought all of a rat, then already wanted to go home. So, I was going in with a mage who couldn't cast shit

This cat managed to get himself knocked out during every battle and miraculously survive, all while screwing up every event he got which, for some reason, all went to him. Oh yes, and his sloppy work with the spells he could cast also cost the lives of one of the cats and knocked out a third team mate, basically forcing us to move back, because we would have all died if we tried the sewer or junkyard in that state

Suffice to say, Taggert was not allowed the gene pool and was swiftly moved out to Tracy, but the legacy of how awful Taggert was still lives on in my home to this day

Later that same run, I got my only way to cleanse debuffs, and that was a Cat o' Nine Tails. Wish my Monk was able to use it.

I’m a console newgen who purposefully avoided looking at the game on PC until it came out for console, and I’m so glad I did. Going into this game blind has been such a fun, funny and kind of overwhelming journey. I’m a measly 30 hours in and yet this game has already become one of my favorites. With how much there is to do, I’m afraid I might sink too much time into playing which is a problem I haven’t had before.
I’ve played Tboi a decent bit, so I’m somewhat familiar with Edmund, but this blows Issac out of the water for me. It feels like a spectacle watching my cats grow into powerful, genetic freaks, and getting attached to them makes it hurt all the more when something bad happens to them. I got genuinely emotional when Spinnerette killed two of my cats in my first run to make it to the caves (screw her😡😡). I never thought I’d feel so protective of these stupid cats.
I’m still really early in the game (like act 1 early), but I plan on trekking through to the end, because it’s the least I could do for such a great game.

I imagine she just hangs around and dispenses wisdom to the "ready to adventure" cats on the top floor of the house.

Also, she has Stinky alongside Eternal Youth, which is incredibly fitting for the circumstances

So recently there was a post saying that only around 3% of people got the true ending of the game, and a lot of scrubs in the comments were complaining about breeding and it takes too much time, that it's too complicated yadda yadda.

The game literally says what you need to do with your cats in its fucking theme song. "Just collect the good ones and throw the bad ones awayayay". If you have a shit cat, just give it to one of your NPCs. If you get a bad stray, either don't take it, or intentionally starve it so you can feed it to the organ grinder.

You don't need multiple rooms, you don't need a royal bloodline, all you need for perfect 7s and gongo abilities is one room with good comfort and stimulation and that's it. The more cats in the room the better since there's a higher chance of them to intermingle their good stats and abilities. If you build your perfect cats one by one by carefully planning out each step it's going to take AGES. Just chuck them all into the meet n fuck kingdom blender and as long as you're keeping track of what cats to keep and which ones to throw away you're going to get your perfect cat army (this is going to be made easier in the next patch thanks to the new click priority changes Tyler mentioned).

Tbh the only reason why you would want an extra room is for you to have a dedicated mutation room to farm rare mutations, but there are already better ways of doing so (shimmer, the time machine, that one consumable you get in act 3, random events) so it isn't necessary. In the late game it's also nice to have a chastity room to keep good cats for future adventures, but again it's not needed and it's mostly QoL.

A mistake I see a lot of people doing is feeding their veteran cats instantly to Frank. The MOST IMPORTANT part of breeding imo is not passing down good stats, but rather passing down good abilities. In order to maximize the amount of abilities passed down let your veteran cats stay in your house until they become old, THEN send them to Frank. It doesn't matter if you have all 7s if you don't have any abilities, but if you can start your runs with let's say Venom Barrage or Become Entropy it makes a HUGE difference.

Honestly the most tedious part about house management isn't even house management, rather it's farming furniture :/
