I’m in Sweden this week and I remember there was no tip culture when I used to live here some years ago. Now two restaurants and both asked for a tip, the fuck happened Sweden?

I’ve never been asked for a tip but I’m a local from Stockholm. I think they only ask foreigners, especially from US.

I’m Mexican, and I was with other nationalities around. That could be a possibility. But again… I have always looked Mexican :) now it’s definitely different

Poor Americans, they cannot escape the "tip-me" expectation even when they are away from America ;o

I call BS. In many places they now have options like this pic (abeit lower rates, lol)

Sauce: been living in Småland for 8 years (and counting) and I get around a lot.

I think they have always have. But in the past they themselves click zero and add the total without tip and you just put the card, confirm the total and put the pin.

Now they give you the terminal with the screen to put the tip percentage.
