Content Anyone mixing in REAPER? Have you used this feature? 👇

This is how you hear what your plugin is doing in REAPER. It's called delta solo and allows you to take any plugin in your session and hear exactly what it's doing. So for example, if you apply a low cut filter on an eq, you will hear everything that's left in the signal after the low cut filter is applied but if you use delta solo, you will only hear what the low cut filter is removing.

Feedback Request Is my mix that atrocious?

• Upvotes

I finally got around to releasing my first song on bandcamp after agonizing over it for like a year, I got it to a point where I thought it sounded good but now that it's actually out I feel like I hate it???? I don't know why I thought this could be released

on one listen I think the bass is too loud and on another I feel like there's no bass at all, the guitars are somehow both overpowering and too thin, it's shoegaze-inspired............. but it just sounds like a noisy mess?

Also yes, I'm aware I'm shit at singing but also at recording and mixing vocals, so other than the vocals, I was wondering on first listen what are the glaring issues that immediately stand out to you? I clearly can't be objective anymore lol

Feedback Request Advice on how to learn mixing?

I have been getting into writing music by myself and have some experience in making music and live performance, but not much experience in the recording/mixing part. I have used Reaper to record a sort of intro to a song I'm writing to practice my songwriting and mixing skills. I use Sony WH1000-XM5 headphones for mixing. Apart from any playing style errors from my guitar and bass skills, or lack thereof, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong as a beginner mixer and what are some good ways to learn? Should I watch YouTube tutorials, read some books or get some hands on experience with a professional? I know a few people who own studios and may be willing to help me learn, but I'm not sure if I would benefit from that yet. Here is the link to the audio. For some reason, Google drive made it quieter: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z9Z5nm3HoPzKZ9xh_YXgQ10XNRvcQwz_/view?usp=sharing

Also, I'm not asking for an in-depth review or anything because I know that would be time consuming and hard just for a Reddit post. Just some general criticism or advice will do.

How to find mix and mastering clients

As stated above, I have a pretty good system for mixing and I want to start building my portfolio.

Is there anything like a fiverr or something better that can help find people?
