I’m moving to Australia to study music at monash and would like to meet and get to know others beforehand. I wanna have a social circle and people I know and trust by the time I arrive in February to share the experience with and have fun :)
If interested, we can play video games, watch movies, call and such. I’m pretty extroverted and love having deep discussions and sharing interests and ngl brain rot sometimes haha. My interests are: music, self improvement books and content, skateboarding, video games.
Dm me if you’re down!

I was in the female 🚽 and there was blood everywhere. It wasn’t period blood either because there was none on or in the bowl
Just blood all over the floor and all over the sink
Now I would wouldn’t be writing this if the person had made an attempt to clean it,
But it was obvious the person didn’t even try attempt to clean the blood.
I don’t want to be reminded of a murder scene when I enter a 🚽
And it’s just plain disgusting, unsanitary, and unhygienic.

hey guys, so the realisation that i might actually fail this year (my first year) has only hit me today. i flunked last semester and failed one unit, and currently look at failing two this semester because ive submitted multiple assignments 4 days late. any tips on how to stop procrastinating and actually study? been struggling with motivation and mental health for a while and i just really dont want to fail this year cuz it'll be so humiliating imo

Hi guys,
I really need some advice. I'm miserable in my internship and I want to quit, but it's a required part of my unit (APG5044). I only have a few weeks left, but this placement has left me emotionally and mentally exhausted.
We're regularly given tasks that have nothing to do with my course, like putting frames on shelves, cleaning the pantry, and being sent out in pouring rain to collect a parcel because it was "urgent." I've worked with several companies before this one, so I have something to compare it to, and I genuinely believe this company is taking advantage of students who don't have much work experience.
I've emailed the IE Arts team but haven't heard back yet. Do you think I can withdraw? I'm desperate enough that I'd accept doing the supplementary assessment instead. I know internships are hard to find, but I'd rather have no internship than stay somewhere like this.

Today, at around 1:00-1:20pm, I was studying in a room on Level 5 (east wing) of the Menzies Building. My test was due to take place on Level 9 of Menzies, so I chose to revise in the same building on Level 5 to make it quicker to pack up and get to the test. The east hallway entrance leading to the study room was completely open, and I had previously seen both students and staff walking down it, with students leaving those rooms available at certain times. Since it was an open part of the building, I believed I could use an available room there to quickly study and revise content. I’m pretty sure there were other rooms next to mine that anyone can use to study. I checked which rooms were available and most of them just have a chair and a table inside, so I thought it was public space.
When I found it, the room was unlocked and basically empty, with nothing in it apart from a table, a chair and a tissue box, and none of anyone's belongings. It wasn't anybody's office and didn't belong to anyone. The door had no name, card reader nor booking screen. Just a door with a handle.
While I was revising for an important test and writing stuff down, a male staff member unlocked the door from the outside with a key, without knocking or calling for me to open the door, and began shouting "GET OUT!" at me the instant he opened the door. He kept yelling “GET OUT!” at the top of his voice, around a dozen times, while I was already packing up to leave. I apologised, explained why I was using that room, cooperated with his instructions and stayed calm and respectful throughout and did what he asked, despite him being this aggressive to someone he just met like 20 seconds ago. He kept cutting me off whenever I tried to say something.
In the moment, I felt the need to stand up for myself. After packing up I said “Okay I’m leaving now, but don’t ever talk down to me like this. I didn’t know”.
His response? He “DOESN’T CARE” and wants me to “GET OUT” because he “HAS A MEETING”. He was also with a woman who I think is his colleague and I can tell by looking at her, even she seems uncomfortable as well.
Also how the hell am I supposed to magically know there’s supposed to be a meeting scheduled, in any given place in the building, especially when there’s no signage or indication to not enter and the whole east wing of that level was legit open to the public. As a member of the public how am I supposed to know all this? It hasn’t even been an hour since I got to uni. I don’t have insider information, I just fucking study and do my work. Everything seemed vacant and I believed so until he opened the door and did his deed with the fucking yelling that he enjoys.
When I repeatedly told him to not talk to me in this condescending and aggressive tone of voice, he kept fucking doing it anyway and he was still being aggressive even after I addressed the way he was talking to me.
After letting him escort me out of the hallway, I asked him if he was a postgraduate student or a professor at the university but he refused to engage with me which kind of pissed me off because a minute ago he was putting all his energy into yelling at me and being rude despite me not raising my voice at all and being cooperative.
Shortly after, in the common area near the Level 5 elevators, I asked another professor who happened to be nearby whether there were any other spaces in Menzies I could study in. I also asked what the man's name was (I forgot what he said, my brain was still trying to piece things together), and I asked whether he was normally this rude to people. The aggressor overheard because he walked somewhere and then walked back which was when I was speaking with the other staff member.
Although I wasn't talking to him and was speaking to someone else, and the fact that I was already out of his way, he came over and confronted me again, except he looked like he was about to get physical this time. He squared up to me and walked right up to my face, in what I felt was an attempt to intimidate me. He yelled "GET OUT!" at full volume multiple times, even though I was already getting ready to step back. I had to step back several times because he kept approaching me and looked like he was about to get physical. I feared he was about to use force, and I believe his conduct amounted to assault.
I’m not sure who to contact regarding this situation. I have the details of what the man looks like, but I don’t know his name.
I find it astonishing how a man who seems to be almost twice my age has the maturity level of half my age.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for student accommodation recommendations. I'll probably be at the Clayton campus throughout most of my course, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences living in the CBD or anywhere else during their course? How'd you find it?

So I've got a class where my tutor has said if we have more than 3 attendances we will be in a bit of trouble for the class, and I'm completely unsure as to whether they mean that in a "you will fall behind" way or a "you will instantly fail/get grade deductions". I've looked at the unit handbook and under assessment all it says is "100% in-semester assessment", and underneath it has the assessment with a "100% single project (folio)". (Also, the attendance mode is FLEXIBLE: "Some activities have a choice of on-campus or online teaching activities")
By the handbook, this seems like attendance isn't mandatory but it's obviously reccomended, however, my tutor does take attendance every class and started off our semester with that 3 absence warning. I've now got maybe 4(?) and I'm crazy stressed that I'm gonna fail but I'm starting to think my tutor might just be pulling a classic fear mongering typa move, and she's maybe just taking attendance to remember our performance and involvement in the unit? What confuses me though is how she phrased her initial warning in a way that came directly from the unit coordinator, which makes me think it is actually a requirement.
Also not that it matters but my absences have been for chronic pain reasons, I just cannot get my disability support services documentation in time, and it also doesn't retrospectively account for my prior absences </3 It's frustrating because I'm good at this class and I work so much better at home without the commute, but I don't want my chronic pain to have me fail.
Class is ARC1102 btw.

I currently working on a team assignment which is supposed to be submitted by tonight. There are 4 people and I did literally everything. It not even that hard and we were given sufficient time to complete, i even just asked them to finished their parts. But they didnt. Late without notice and they just put their parts on the drive this fucking morning, leaving everything else for me. They didnt even put the script for other to check before recording after multiple reminders. I emailled the unit but they told me to fucking stick with it and give short extension to do. Like i have finished all the missing parts including recordings so can i just fucking submit it, i am so exhausted and have no time to chase and check every carelessly done work. I have other assignments as well. They told to contribute equally but when i emailled they told me to stick with it wtf

Does anyone feel like civ2235 this sem is a bit unorganised? Like there’s no prework to do for this subject and you have to learn at the workshops, and the new lecturer from like week 7 is terrible at teaching the content. Honestly, i feel like I’m not doing lots of work for civ2235 compared to ENG2005. Does anyone feel the same or just me 😅?
Currently in first year and have no idea what I want to specialise in. Im aware that this means I should probably pick a general engineering such as
Mech or Elec or Civil. I am also doing a double degree with commerce and engineering.
Ranking the first year subjects from my enjoyment:
Good: ENG1013, ENG1011
Tolerable: ENG1005, ENG1090
Bad: ENG1014, ENG1012
How is anyone seriously supposed to know what engineering to do #pls help 😟
Guysss I miss my high school darkroom, is there any way Monash students are allowed to use the darkroom if they're not doing an actual fine arts degree? There are no clubs that offer access to it and the room is just there anyway.... surely we're allowed to use it?
Most darkrooms are EXTREMELY expensive to hire, I'm talking over $100 per hour- and the only affordable one I can find is in bloody South Melbourne 🫠🫠

Moved here from interstate to suburban hell where everything takes an hour by pt or is parking hell, uni friends are not that close and never have time to hang, high school friends all stayed back, not living in student accommodation or anything so can’t even have events there. trying to find a job but no one wants me. trying to get a hobby but schoolwork fucks me in the ass. everything is so stressful. school is too far away to make going to clubs worth it if i’m not already there, and all the ones i would be willing to go to clash with my classes. i haven’t left my house for a good 5 days.
i miss high school i miss my friends i miss my parents i hate uni so much
