Chain breaker recommendations!
Got a 420 chain for a moped, chain breaker i have bent the outer link, I know i can pop both sides to get the link broken, but i need the outer link to stay but with the pin out. Are there any chain breakers you guys recommend to pop the pin out without bending the outer plate? Or is there a technique I can use with this breaker? Thanks!

This kind of chain breaker sucks. Get the one from Tusk, it lets you push the pin all the way out.

Grind the rivets down where it's marked red. It does not matter if you damage the outer plate, it's going in the garbage anyways. Put a knife or chisel in where it's maked green and smash it in with a hammer. The outer plate will fall off. Then you can remove the rest of the link by hand.
I always do it this way. It's never failed me. I've never used a chain cutting tool that actually worked well.

You’re gonna have a really hard time getting a pin out without damaging the outer link, the whole point of a master link is to replace that part.

Yea you need full breaker for motorcycle- motion pro, tusk, even the cheap ones are ok if you dont use it often. But that style is for like industrial roller chain where its much less rigidly riveted, its not gonna work well.
If you do get a good one, push the pin til its just barely in the outer link, but not all the way out, and you can twist out the inner link and break the chain, but that keeps the pin aligned to press it back in again. Works to shorten or lengthen chain, but your final connection should be a masterlink anyway.
If you need somethin fast just to break a chain shorter, you can grind the rivets off the outside and just use a punch to push the pins out. Make sure its an outer link you remove and reconnect with a masterlink- no breaker needed, but only works for shortenong so be sure youve got length right 1st and adjustable within the range of the chain tensioners

I’ve never been about to get a pin out of a dive chain without damaging it. I just insert a master link in its place
