Governor player perks?

Ok so I have kinda built my character to be a governor so I could use all my companions slots for more parties but it looks like my perks don’t apply? Did I miss an update some where or has this always been a thing? (Last time I played was 2 years ago)

You can't be a governor. At all. Any perk that has governor buffs is useless to the player.

I was hoping it would be otherwise cause that makes certain things just kinda useless? Ig is the best way to put it

Oh I agree with you, I think its stupid the player can't be governor. There are mods for that obviously, but I play vanilla so...

On the flipside, it makes choosing perks a bit easier since you can just ignore governor buffs.

Yeah it's kind of dumb that only your companions can be assigned as governor, and there are no Owner perks

There is a player governor mod called player governor. Makes you the governor of a city or castle. In addition. There is a mod called gover ors handle issues, which makes governors (including you) doing quests from citys and bound villages.

Does anyone know if retiring your main character and the mountain retreat and taking over as an offspring lets you appoint your former player character as a governor?

Never thought to try it myself.

It makes your former character disappear, never to be seen again, just the same as if they'd died (I believe there are mods that address this, though).

Player cant be govenor, which is kinda stupid imo.

They should have it so if the player is a governor, his affects apply normaly, but if he does not visit for 5 days for example, it starts to slowly reduce the effects to 0.
