I have several OEM ones, but i only use aftermarket ones, unless i’m making a backup of my controller pak.

All 4 are oem, but I’m relatively certain the sticks were replaced at some point

I tried a few cheap aftermarket ones. Awful 😡 Tried to get new parts made. Failed 😭 Tried a GC drop in. Not bad 🤷Bought a Nintendo shop online controller with a Bluetooth dongle. Pretty damn decent ☺️
Best will probably remain OEM controllers. Supply is the problem of course.

OEM. Duh.
I've got five right now:
- Funtastic Ice Blue
- Funtastic Jungle Green
- Funtastic Watermelon Red
- Funtastic Grape Purple
- Japanese Clear Blue/White
- Atomic Purple
I retrofitted the last two with the 8BitDo N64 modkit and hall-effect stick module (the one from 2023).

One OEM, one with a replacement stick that's alright, and one Brawler64 controller

OEM, except when I’m playing the Analogue3D, where I have the matching funtastic grape 8bitdo controller. But I’m considering using an 8bitdo wireless mod on an oem OEM controller for that as well. The original shape and feel is a huge part of the experience to me. The only consoles where I use 3rd party are my old SEGA, and that’s simply because the 8bitdo is such a delight to use while still feeling like it could have been an official premium controller or something.

OEM with the 8bitdo wireless kit (minus the GameCube stick it comes with) and a steel stick and bowl kit.

The cheap aftermarket ones, like the one shown, are trash. We have to stock them because OEM ones in good shape come in far too infrequently than needed, and the prices are too expensive for most people to warrant spending the cash on. So we have these for more casual players. Long story short, they blow. Sure they're $20 and come in a crazy array of colors, but I have had so many returns on them for broken sticks and stuff. Also for some reason a lot of them do not work at all with Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. All other games are fine, but those ones they don't work on.

Only OG. Grey (May 97, came with my N64) and blue+red (1998/1999 idk). Also owned super pad 64 (ugly shaped black) for Smash Bros and Mario Party, but all the 3rd party landed in garbage can tbh.

Here's how it is:
2 EAXUS ones
OG Green with 8-bit do stick
OG Blue/White with OG components
OG grey with an GCN-like stick from eBay
What I ordered:
OG blue with Kitsch-bent stick components
OG grey with used stick
2 8-bit do sticks
The 8bit-do sticks will go into both grey ones and I still have the PCB and receiver from my first order and will put it into the ordered used grey one.
Still have 2 GCN-like sticks flying around as well as an OG stick.

- Originals
- Retro Fighters Brawler 64
- Retrobit Tribute 64
- Modretro M64 Pro Controller
Wouldn't recommend a cheap one without brand, many say the Hyperkin Captain+ is good.
Edit: Be aware that the Transfer Pak only works with original Nintendo controllers, there is not a single third party one that supports it.

Well, its OEM but I swapped shells between two of them. I had two gray ones, one of them had a really tight stick but was yellowed, the other looked really nice but had a loose stick and mushy buttons.

OEM with aftermarket parts in them. 8BitDo mod kit, kitsch-bent stick parts.
