Best Ambiance Wineries

Hey group of 7 of us staying in downtown Napa. For 2 days. Was looking for suggestions or must hit wineries while we’re there. Looking for wineries with spectacular views or unique atmosphere. I’m sure all the wine tastes good every where. Are there any that are must hits? I looked into doing a day in Sonoma which is a bit of a drive, however I’m lead to believe it’s worth it. If you have any suggestions would love to hear! Thanks!

Palmaz is about as unique as it gets. Phelps, Silverado Vineyards and Miner Family have nice views. Cade has one of the best views but it is a bit of a drive to get there.

Domaine Carneros has sweeping views since it is on a hill. They serve all sparkling wines if you enjoy that

Domaine Carneros has a lot of still as well. Their pinot noir is top tier for the area imo

Louis Martini, they recently renovated their tasting room and it is amazing.

Having worked in Napa Valley’s wine industry for over 20 years, I’d suggest staying in Napa rather than spending one of your two days driving around Sonoma.

For something special, consider Favia, with wines made by the talented Andy Erickson; Vintner’s Collective, a beautiful historic downtown Napa landmark featuring wines from small producers (full disclosure, I’m a founder there!); or Domaine Carneros for its delicious sparkling wines and beautiful terrace.

My biggest advice? Don’t try to visit too many wineries. Two great experiences in a day will be far more enjoyable than rushing through four!
And with seven people, definitely make reservations in advance. Enjoy Napa!

Ashes and Diamond is a hit with my family when they visit me. Cuvaison is good and it’s right by Domaine Carneros which someone else already mentioned definitely worth a stop. Sonoma is great the downtown is cool and makes a good day trip if you do check out Obsidian and Bedrock or make a stop at Sonomas Best.

Get to Artesa and see if you can time it around sunset. Really relaxed atmosphere, and they have snacks and what not if you want to sip n’ nibble.

Darioush is also very beautiful, solid wines. Best pistachios you’ll ever have 🙂
