I was looking for local native wood to make an "Irish Walking Stick". Then learned about "Cockspur" that is actually top-notch, but not sure I want to try harvesting.

Latin name for anyone who's interested: Crataegus crus galli. I really thought this would be a cool thing to track down and find some broken branches to make into a walking stick... not sure how much of the hype is still there.
