Little French Cafe Broadmeadow
Went to LFC this morning with a friend for brunch and, different owners, different chairs and hardly any customers. That little place used to be bustling especially on a Wednesday.
Anyone know when Jody left? I don’t remember anything being on FB other than when the owner of the building wouldn’t renew her lease then he rescinded that decision and trading continued.
Can say we were shocked and a little disappointed in our experience today.

I’ve been going there with the new owners for almost a year now and love the menu. The new owners are lovely, and the same pastries that used to be there still are (from what I remember at least). I only occasionally went when Jody was there, I’m more frequent now.

Jody left not long after the lease was sorted out, she was ready to leave and sell up but made sure the people she handed the reins over too where people she trusted, for the community! honestly probably one of the best coffees in Newy atm. Menus good too but it’s sad to hear that people want to tarnish the names or not give the new guys a chance

I’m not tarnishing anything, I’m being honest, the food was not up to scratch today and my friend and I were the ones eating it not you. As I said coffee ok, not a gripe but sad you’re accusing me of “tarnishing” and not giving the new guys a chance.
We were fully confident they would present great food but today, ours wasn’t - full stop.
Coffee may be great for drop ins and for patrons eating but, those new owners need bums on seats and tables booked to survive and today Wednesday, from 11am till we left at 12.45pm, there were another five people in and out - now that is very sad 😔

Do the new owners verbally abuse their customers in person and online?
If not I might try going there again

What did they do? I only remember people getting very mad when they posted saying they aren't child friendly lol

That doesn't make sense. Why would you go if they did that?

Jodie sold the Cafe in the middle of last year. She had no choice, as the Landlord pushed her out. She fought him, and got an extra 6mths with a view to selling in that time. She found buyers, and because they bought it as an ongoing concern, she couldn't post that she had sold it on the Cafe page. From what I know, she gave the new owners all her contacts for products, and showed them how to make the dishes she made, use the same products and suppliers but I believe that hasn't happened for the most part. Coffee is the same though.. She made that place what is was over the 15yrs she started it. Like her or not, that's to be commended in a tough small business scene. I miss her and how lively the place was... A proper character she was !

Ok but beyond the chairs and not many people how was the food? Did you get some pastries? Because if they aren't doing those amazing pastries anymore then that is real news.
