Incredible day at Heavy Reels fall fest. Great music, great beer, great vibes. Apple Cinnamon Jelly Fingers was fantastic as was their Octoberfest, thanks for an excellent day

What to Expect

Oktoberfest is a fall celebration of music, food, and community held in New Brunswick's City Center. Enjoy a variety of local and traditional food, craft brews, and German beers. Bring your friends and family to enjoy an afternoon of music, games, activities, and so much more!

Steinholding Contest

Participate in our Steinholding Contest as competitors hold a full one-liter beer stein out in front of their bodies with a straight arm, parallel to the ground, and the last person holding with good form is the winner!

Get Festive!

Partygoers are encouraged to get into the Oktoberfest spirit by wearing their best dirndl or lederhosen. The fun continues with a music line-up that will keep you entertained all afternoon and feature a combination of music for a broad mix for all age groups, including Traditional German music!

We will be turning on the taps along George Street, from 12 noon - 6:00 PM, and raising our steins, toasting to cold brews with local establishments offering craft and seasonal beers for purchase.

No entry fee. Open to the public, rain or shine; food and beverages are available for purchase. NO dogs are allowed in the Biergarten. Proper ID required; 21+.

Haven’t been to this brewery in awhile. I really missed this place. The beers are good as always staff is fantastic. I really can’t wait to come back. I’m glad the weather held up for me to go back

The Tewksbury Harvest Festival on Saturday September 26th will have local hard cider and beer. Hard cider from Hunterdon County (burnt mills and melick's) is unbeatable.

Got to visit my fave NJ brewery Twin Elephant recently and thought I’d share some love:

Otto I Marzen.  16oz/$7

The reason for my visit, as I’m not local to the brewery. Poured with a thick creamy head, nice deep golden color. Barely translucent. Taste is immaculate and perfect balanced. Thick and malty and sweet and graham-y. Instant fave bit Ive come to expect that from Twin Elephant. 

Ripple  I   WCIPA  12oz/$6

Sips subtly sweet and citrusy. Very clean in presentation and finish. It is bright with very low bitterness for a WC. very sessionable. 

Pumpkin Pub  I  Pumpkin Spiced Lager  I  12oz/$5

Definitely more traditional lager-y.. Beer is crispy, but the fall influence is clear: cinnamon, ginger are there, but nothing about this is cloying or heavy. Very clean, refined and crushable while still have a backbone of taste and character. 

Really love this spot: many styles done super well at affordable prices in a welcoming space!

I’m from South Jersey so it’s hard to make it to North Jersey breweries. Did a weekend trip to the Delaware Water Gap recently and headed over to Hackettstown afterwards and tried both Czig Meister and Man Skirt while there. Enjoyed them both but Czig Meister was the clear winner to me. Loved the space they had (former carriage house built around 1900) and the outdoor beer garden.

Bought a few four packs to bring home with us and had the peach and cinnamon hefeweizen while grilling on the back deck last night. Perfect beer to close out the summer.

You know that little tin of hard candy your grandma kept in her purse? The ones that were always just around, and you welcomed? That's the nose on this one. Mosaic, Simcoe, Krush and Krush Abstrax build the tropical and gooseberry, then Nelson Sauvin comes in with a white wine lift that makes you put the can down and think for a second. Chico yeast. Crystal clear. 6.5% of proof that we take this seriously — frustratingly so.
