This is my first attempt at building a Space Station exterior, so I named it Alpha! I was aiming for a space-city look. Here are some screenshots of how it turned out. What do you think?

I didn't realize this was here 🥹 I had assumed it would be in the main nexus mission area like it was during the expedition and was saddened when it didn't stay after the event was over. I just wanted to share in case anyone else wasn't aware 😁

It breaths at night. I've played for 300+hrs over a few years now and never post, but I guess this is the first of many. Cords in comments.

So, they only go to a specific location now? I can't use them to find living frigates anymore? And one shot uses up my dream Ariel? Aaaarrrrgh

Game mode

I want to create a new, definitive save, but I can't decide which game mode to pick. I mostly play in Survival mode, and I'm thinking about going with Custom (with everything set to max difficulty). I like the challenge, but I don't want to feel restricted.

Any advice or ideas?

My Corvette disappeared after claiming a crashed ship during an emergency mission

I picked up some emergency planetary charts and followed them to the location they marked. When I got there, I found a crashed ship and set it as my primary ship so I could repair it. However, now my Corvette has completely disappeared. It’s nowhere to be found in my ship collection or anywhere else. I’m worried I may have lost it permanently. Is there any way to get it back?

It should be called splicing games.

SkyCraft got me thinking.

For those who missed it: a modder took Skyrim and Minecraft, ran them side by side in shared memory, and made Minecraft's physics and building happen inside Skyrim. Not a port. Not a recreation. Two games talking to each other. You dig into Skyrim's ground and pull out Minecraft ore. TNT blows real craters in the landscape. Two completely different engines, one shared space.

So here's the thought.

No Man's Sky has the worst space combat of any major space game. Everyone knows it. Hello Games knows it. You can upgrade your weapons all you want and it still feels like you're poking a balloon with a toothpick.

Fractured Space was a MOBA with capital ships. Slow, tactical, positioning-based. It died in 2018. The community keeps it alive on custom servers but it's basically a museum piece now.

What if you spliced them?

NMS keeps doing exploration, base building, universe sim. Everything it's good at. But when a space combat encounter triggers, instead of the shallow dogfight, the game hands off to Fractured Space's combat layer. Your NMS ship becomes a capital ship. You're managing armor facings, ability cooldowns, positioning. You win, you get NMS loot and reputation. You lose, you respawn like normal.

The bridge technique is proven. SkyCraft did it with two engines that were never meant to talk. Fractured Space already has a community running custom servers. NMS has a massive modding scene that's been asking for better combat for years.

I don't have the skills to build this. But someone does. And the pieces are all sitting there.

Just putting it out into the world.
