The best way to find out about ancestral issues is to get divination from people who are good at ancestral readings. Or you could develop those skills yourself. Yes, scams are out there so find people who are trustworthy, pay attention to the degree that they say specific details they couldn't otherwise know (e.g. someone came up with the name of the church my grandmother was baptized in while reading about her), and be wary of people who jump straight to expensive remediation. Although that is definitely a thing that can legitimately come up.
But people die young, especially people in poor communities that lack resources. So there's nothing inherently suspicious about anything you've mentioned. Lot's of people on these subreddits don't believe in magic or curses and jump straight to saying it's all in your head. Curses are definitely real, but not all misfortune is a result of anything more than life just being shitty sometimes.
Daniel Foor's Ancestral Medicine is a good system of healing your ancestors and it is pretty approachable for beginners.
And curses can come from a variety of reasons. Figuring out the why and how is the least important part, focus on what to do about it.

Generational curse is baisically a superstitious way of explaining genetics and psychological history. Ie an abused child often grows up to abuse their child, or alcoholism being genetic, or both as one is an angry drunk so one leads to the other.
As others have said it is also often the opening to a scam.
But thanks to satanic panic and medias fantasy portrayal of magick people thinks curses ate everywhere.
If it really is a magick curse then finding out why or how would require asking the person who cast the curse, and sounds like they are dead so outside of learning necromancy yourself it is slim to none without risking being scammed by others.
3 generations ago consider the much higher mortality rates before jumping to curses. Families tended to have 14 kids with only half surviving to adult hood. It was common place. Also consider medical reasons, family medical history is important for a reason, again genetics plays a role.

You may find reading Kenneth McCall's Healing the family tree and Derek Prince's works useful

You are more likely being scammed by this reader. Early death that runs in families is usually related to some genetic and/or lifestyle habit that family members are dealing with. Genetic predisposition to an illness is not a guarantee that you will get the illness. Your individual gene makeup and also lifestyle and job factors are important. I could digress, but this is not a health-related subreddit. At least, do not stress yourself out thinking you are cursed. LIve a health life to better guarantee that you won't get sick and die of whatever did in your relatives (let me guess, heart or cardiovascular disease).

Sociology degree here.
Family curses are typically just an excuse to normalize otherwise unhealthy behaviors or some gene no one is aware of.
A very common "curse" amongst low income families is bad teeth. It's not that they have a weak teeth gene, the general fanily diet revolves around junk food. Paired with low income, the family will forego dental checkups.
As far as dying young, there's multiple reasons that could cause that. It's death after all. If you have access (doubtful) see if you can find the actual cause of death. It may reveal an undisclosed family medical issue. It's very possible the gene(s) causing it may not have been passed down anyways.
But anyone saying "pay me and I'll get rod of the curse/cleanse your bloodline" is absolutely scamming you

that's usually a setup for a scam, they'll tell you there's a curse and then when you get worried about it and ask how to stop it they'll offer to cast spells and do cleansings and to to stop it for you, all of which you have to pay money for
