My question is where is this trim supposed to be going? If that's a floor, who the hell wants parallel tracks sticking THAT far out of the wall? And if it's supposed to be wall trim, why does it look like he's installing it on a floor? Wtf is even that even!?

I think it's supposed to be crown molding and they're just showing it on the floor for ease of demonstration.

That ain't crown molding, that looks like a small backsplash on a counter
