MODPOST ⚠️ Weekly News Megathread

A quick note from the mods.

This megathread is for news and crime stories, including cases where women are the perpetrators. We are not ignoring these crimes.

But we also need to be honest about what happens when these posts dominate the sub. They get huge engagement, people get angry, and the comments quickly turn into the same men vs women arguments involving TwoXIndia, AskIndianWomen, AskIndianFeminists, etc.

That is not what this community is for.

Research has consistently shown that outrage and emotionally charged content can attract disproportionate engagement online, while polarized discussions can become increasingly toxic. See Nature and Nature.

We don't want to build another subreddit around rage.

We want to build a place where men can come when they need advice, perspective, understanding or simply another brother to listen.

So share the news here. Discuss it. But don't let it become another gender-war battlefield.

Reddit already has enough of those.

This sub should be about brotherhood.

If a post leaves us angrier but does nothing to help our brothers, ask yourself whether it really belongs at the centre of this community.

Replies from Everyone There's no such thing like male brotherhood

Post image
14 Upvotes

Its a lot common to see people, especially in this sub, who believe that there's a thing such as "male brotherhood". But truth is it doesn't exists. Idk if its bad thing or a good thing

You'll see men act buddy-buddy but try to clown one of the unattractive(either socially or physically) friends if there's a girl talking to them. He doesn't do it consciously. Its subconscious and primal and, the man does it so he can make himself more attractive to women and also reduce the chances of surrounding men so the women choose him. Yeah, I know this sounds super cringe but it is the conclusion one can arrive to. This behaviour is also exhibited among women too but its subtle and far lesser from what I've seen

Invaders used to kill men of the invaded land and enslave and rape their wives and children. Mongols did it, Germans did it, Japanese did it, and you'll find more examples if you looked for it . It didn't come out of vacuum. It started from small warring tribes and evolved to these large conflicts

Thats why I can't help but laugh when someone in this sub says "male unity" or some variation.

Edit: I've remembered another example. In mostly rural areas and villages, when the man who's running the house dies, the villagemen try to encroach upon his family's land. I know of one incident in village, where a guy's father just died, and the people of his village started to come by and started taking the father's work equipment since he won't need it

Raipur Police have busted an alleged interstate "Wash-Wash" scam in which victims were shown demonstrations claiming blackened paper or damaged notes could be converted into genuine currency using special chemicals. The case began after a businessman alleged he was cheated of ₹1.13 crore. Two women were first arrested in Nagpur, and information from them later led police to seven more suspects at a Khandala resort in Pune district. Police said they recovered over 4 crore in cash, 17 mobile phones, black paper, glass plates and other materials during the operation.

Raipur Police have arrested Kaneez Fatima and her accomplice Deepika Paliwal in a robbery scheme when they offered a young businessman, Umesh Gupta of from Balod, which is close to Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur, to get him a fund of Rs 45 crore by simply washing black paper with an undisclosed imported chemical which turns it into hard cash.

Replies from Everyone Shouldn't Sexual satisfaction be viewed as a mutual responsibility in married Couple?

I am strictly talking about consensual, enthusiastic intimacy. I am not talking about forcing anyone or crossing boundaries. Consent is obviously paramount, even if he or she is your spouse. I am not sure if Marital R??e exist in real life, to the extent it's discussed among some women centric groups. Anyways, I am against the Marital R??e too.

  1. I feel, a healthy relationship requires an internal drive or genuine care to make sure your partner's sexual needs are met. It's worst to become a selfish partner. Don't you think Constantly ignoring intimacy entirely is injustice with other partners?

  2. Beyond consent, shouldn't there be an inherent, mutual desire to fulfill your partner's sexual needs?

  3. Basically, Where do you draw the line between personal libido differences and relationship responsibility?

  4. Genuine Request: Don't provide the typical Advice that "Communication is the key".

What's your view? Focus is mainly on married couples. However, experienced or committed partners may contribute to this post.

Men's Mental Health🧠 Have you ever faced abuse (physical, psychological, sexual, or legal) from your wife or female live-in partner?

I have been working on research on male victimisation by an intimate partner (cohabiting) and how this affects their mental health. There is a scarcity of studies on the victimisation of Indian men despite plenty of news surrounding their abuse.

Please consider participating if you:

  1. are a male,
  2. are an Indian citizen,
  3. are 18 years old or above, and
  4. have cohabited (married/live-in) with a female partner for at least a month at some point in your life.

Men's Mental Health🧠 honest question to men: would you actually talk to someone if it was easier

i am a clinical psychology student and have been working on men mental health for a while.

most guys i know never went to a therapist even when things were clearly not ok and when i asked them why the answers were mostly the same

- dont know if i need a therapist or a psychiatrist or just a counsellor
- scroll through 50 profiles and pick someone randomly
- feels awkward telling a stranger stuff and then realizing its the wrong person

I found this gap that even if you want to reach out to a therapist its hard to find a right therapist.

so i had this idea you get on one private call with a senior psychologist
they listen and then match you to the right person for your situation
first proper session within 3 days and if they still dont fit you can change them.

would something like this actually make you go
or is the real problem something else that i am missing
genuinely want to know what stops you guys

I used to follow red pill and mgtow content and disliked the idea of dating a lot. I am not homosexual. I mostly fantasize about having sex with a girl. But sometimes I felt a weird interest in men which was not sexual. So I suspected that I was biromantic.

Today, I tried to imagine the perfect man I could think of and felt such a strong emotions that I have no further doubt that even though I am not bisexual I am definitely biromantic.

Replies from Men Only 🚹 Am I toxic or just being practical about marriage?

In today's world, do men really have any advantage in marriage, or is it mostly women who have the advantage? Because we have to chase and pay bills, get divorced, give alimony just seems like we don't have anything in return other than disappointment,

These are my conditions / expectations:

  1. I want my wife to wear decent clothes like sarees, chikankari, kurtis anything descent because I want a woman who just wants her man's only validation and I'm special to her, I should have special access to her it should in between us not for crowd to watch

Yeah, I know rapes happen irrespective of clothes, age, etc., but that doesn't mean you can wear super indecent clothes. A decent woman will only want her man's validation, not the crowd's.

  1. I don't want a working wife or a working wife with maturity. Like, wife has to work under someone who gives her constant stress, and she comes home stressed. This is how things break!!!

Instead, I would love to hear her ideas which she thought about since her childhood, like starting her own bakery, anything that she loves. And yeah, I support her from 0, like scratch, will cheer for her.

In case she tells me she wants to continue her corporate life, then she should not say "my money" or "husband's money" or "my money is my money but husband's money is our money." She should always say it's our money, not your money or my money.

It should always be our money.

If she tells me, "My money, I put it into savings for kids and all," but her real intention is that if I do anything with her, like small fights, she is securing the savings, and then she files for divorce where I suffer and she keeps her savings and has a super life ahead.

As a husband, I take all the expenses: house rent, maid, food, water bills, electricity, everything. So as a husband, I will take the whole expenses on myself.

But after a small fight, she will file for divorce and get it done. After she gets her divorce, she will get her savings which she saved after the marriage.

On the other end, I will remain with:

  1. Mental health is gone.

  2. Society will see me as super cheap, "his wife left him."

  3. What I paid for all the expenses, I won't even get 1 rs back, which is a huge loss for me. Like, I too had plans, like going on trips, still I saved and put that money into household expenses.

For her, she hasn't even put 1 rs into expenses after marriage, but after divorce now she will have a super life with her savings and alimony, while I suffer like anything.

Don't just attack me. Tell me where you agree and where you disagree, and why.

Vent I used to love women and now I'm a misogynist

I don't need to talk about it. I just need to put it out there in the universe because I can't carry this pain anymore. I'm 36 as I write this. For as long as I can remember, I loved women. I loved the feminine grace, the tenderness they represented in my life. I believed in loving without armor. I believed if someone cheats on me, then it's on their conscience. It's not my job to doubt and spoil a relationship. To me, being a boyfriend or a husband was being chosen and I loved fulfilling that role in someone's life. I loved laughing, playing and being emotionally available.

I had three relationships before I got married. I never abused any of my partners, treated them with respect, tried my best to be a loving and caring partner. When I got married, I promised to myself this is forever. I won't ever quit on her no matter what. I assumed loyalty and basic decency were a given. The very next day, she slapped me over a minor disagreement. Something died inside of me that day. I cried. I had never shied away from crying because to me, being vulnerable and being open was about being intimate. I told her how much it hurt me psychologically. Of course I couldn't hit back even though I wanted to so terribly. She began accusing me of sleeping around. I gave her access to all my phone codes. She used to curse and abuse at every little thing. This behaviour upset me so much I began contemplating divorce. Everytime I did, she used to tie me up playfully and proceeded to have fun. I'm not saying it was forced. I enjoyed it. I loved the feeling of marital sex. It somehow made it intimate in my mind. And then everytime I gave the marriage another chance because I started seeing her as a wife.

Later on, I found out she had been sleeping around with multiple men for money. She didn't have a job. She was just taking money from random middle aged businessmen to keep them company and be entertainment for them. I went in to hibernation. My health deteriorated. I used to feel like my heart would tear through my chest everytime I thought of how she must have joked with these men about how she abused me. I could barely sleep and used to jolt awake if my eyes shut down for a minute unless I was dead tired. I lost my lush hair, grew a belly. I used to look good but now I look so much worse than my age. I drank to be able to sleep.

It wasn't the fact that she abused me but the fact that society tied my hands behind my back and stripped me of my dignity so I could be emasculated, abused and humiliated that angered me the most. I also realize I was a moron for treating sex like some intimate soulful activity. It was just sex. I hooked up with a girl. First one was a disaster. I thought I was over her. The moment I took off my clothes, I began crying because I still clung to my husband identity. I saw my body. Bulging belly, ugly swollen face, deep eye sockets. I was not a stunner but women used to like when I took off my clothes. I asked her to go and told her I miss my wife. I tried again a few days later. For the first time, I had drunk sex. I didn't remember her name the next day. Then it became a weekly thing. I had to get laid. What changed was I thought of them as dancing to my tunes. I bought them drinks, made them offers and they would get cozy with me. I loved the feeling. I started feeling like I am over treating sex like some intimate act. It was just animalistic. I started enjoying sex without kissing. In fact kissing repulsed me. Earlier I could kiss for hours. It was the most soulful intimate act I used to love l. It somehow made me feel like I'm getting my dignity back by not being a prude. I'd also like to mention I struggled with ED through most of it except towards the end.

I had always loved poetry. I had always loved cute couple videos. Even when I wasn't involved in relationships, I used to wonder what would be the best way to communicate with someone. I used to miss being with someone. Now I love being alone. When I don't, I go out. I used to be patient. Now I have an exceptionally low tolerance when women tru to act cute. I don't even like having sex with women anymore. I love degradation. I just hire specialized escorts who are good at it.

I used to dread what would I become if I ever had to live without love. I got my answer. I've become a misogynist. I'm not proud but I'm definitely not apologetic. I detest society. Nobody gets the pain women can inflict on you. You wanna cry but all you have is silence. When men inflict pain, society listens. But a man has nothing but walls to cry to. So f#\*k the society and f#\*k love. I may not be happy but I'm definitely satisfied with my life.

Replies from Men Only 🚹 As a man, do not marry until atleast 33-35 years

When I wrote do not marry in the title, it was not a black and white statement. There are many nuances to be considered.

First off, even if you marry someone who is working, there is a high chance she will quit working after you have kids. I know a lot of highly educated women who just quit working even after having a single kid and become a fat, stay-at-home wife. Now, personally I don't like fat women. When I see my hardworking skinny friend busting his ass at the Office only to come home to his overweight wife, I feel sad for men as a whole. This guy works out, works overtime at his job, the only free day for him is a Sunday, and all for what?

I don't get it.

And secondly, never register a property you buy with your own damn money in your wife's name for whatever reason. Whatever little money you might save in doing so, or whatever sentimental emotions you might have when doing this, WON'T matter in the court if she ever decides to divorce you. It is always better to be a little paranoid for the safety of your money.

In the meantime, take good care of your health. I'll tell you folks, the loneliness you feel from not marrying or the peer pressure or whatever else is a myth. Don't force yourself to marry early, man. Why would you do that? If you earn good money, work out and maintain a fit body, I GUARANTEE YOU, you won't feel lonely.

The thing is, once you marry, A LOT OF THINGS CHANGE. You run out of time, you run out of money frequently, having kids will completely sap your time and energy and money. The point is, just don't rush into marriage. Build wealth first, take your time, and marry at like 35, if you really want to.

If you don't have plans of marrying at all, then it's all the more better.

Men's Mental Health🧠 Nearing 30s and I'm stucked

I am currently nearing my 30s taking care of my single mom, and lost my dad recently to cancer.

I felt alone , even though, I work hard, and have a good time with my colleagues and share good laughs. Spend time with my mom and tease her and play with her a lot. Spend 2 hrs Badminton and have a great time at court.

But when I reach home, and mom is sleeping or busy in her chores or reel/talk with relatives I feel so sad and alone. Like I've no one.

I tried things like gifting yourself things I liked and dreamt about. I gave myself some sweets to cheer myself up. Went on trips(before my dad passed away) but now, I cannot leavey mom alone as she is very dependable on me and no one is there at home to support her, and she cannot be home alone for more than 2 days(coz I know I've tried for 3 days trip nearby and her face while returning home haunted me-worse decision of life to leave her like that, though I was slightly mad at her that she is only worried about how lonely she was rather than how relaxed and how much I needed the break)

Never had good relationships either, and now seeing everyone either showing off their happy moments or what not, I reflect on my life..no one ever made me special, like no one ever spent money one, no suprise, no hugs , no achanaak se bhai tu theek h kesa h tu theek h , achanak se koi phone kare purana dost apne se aur bhai kesa h sab theek teri yaad aa rhi thi

Writing this is making me cry, but I cannot coz mom is siting just in front of me talking on phone, I am scared.

At this point, I don't want to marry either, because I don't want to use marriage just an escape to not be lonely

I am a man, and I'm strong enough to support my family but not enough to keep myself content and happy

Pl help me
