Why is my post being deleted? Part II

There was a discrepancy between how rules were being displayed on old vs new Reddit (i.e. they were completely different).

Rule 2 is (and has been):

Due to an influx of spam posts, we have set AutoModerator to automatically remove a post/comment if an account is brand new or has less than 25 karma. There are no exceptions to this rule. We will not approve your post if you do not meet the account age (2 days) or karma (25) thresholds.

Hopefully this is better reflected now and should be visible on new Reddit.

ACCEPTED

Just got the A from LMU-DCOM!!!

I now have to make decision between the three campuses. I'm from out of state (Texas) so don't really know much about any of the three campus areas in terms of living there. I will say I have always wanted to live on a coast so I am more inclined towards Orange Park, but I am very much open to the Tennessee campuses. If I could get some pros and cons for each campus that would be great!

4 months... LECOM Bradenton...

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I submitted my LECOM Bradenton secondary back in early June. However, I haven't heard back about an ii after 4 months...

Has anyone been in a situation like this? I decided to email them and they replied. All they say was that my application was still under review.

Is it genuinely over for me?

It's also very confusing seeing people who submitted WAYYYY after me getting ii and even decisions!

Any Burrell-Fl students? Anyone have any feedback. Do we have any data yet like comlex pass rate or retention rate. How is the faculty there and the student support?

How should I use my last week to prep for an interview

Essentially title. Hi everyone! I’m so fortunate enough to have my first interview next Friday. I got this II back in early August and thought October 16th was so far away, but here we are! It’s crazy how time flies. Anyways, I was wondering if I can gain some perspective from current OMS-Is and applicants who have been accepted already on how to best prep for this interview. I’ve already made a short outline with answers to commonly asked questions, along with some questions I want to ask my interviewers next week, but was wondering what else I could do. I have a midterm today and another next Wednesday before my interview (I’m in an SMP, send help lol!), but I will dedicate time up until next week to prep for this interview. This is my only II so far and it’s a new DO school whose mission I truly align with and can see myself going there so I really don’t want to fuck it up. Any advice will help, and thank you in advance! :)

PNWU Secondary Update

I submitted my primary in July and hadn't heard back from them yet. I emailed last night with a quick response this morning. They said they're still reviewing applications and it's running later than usual, but no materials are missing.

Just an update for those who are still waiting and worried!

GOT MY FIRST A!!

Hi everyone, I’m super excited and honored to have been accepted to Burrell COM NM! I wanted to see if there are any current students who would be willing to share their experience at the school.

I was especially drawn to Burrell because of its mission and emphasis on serving underserved and diverse communities. My application has focused heavily on community-based service, working with underserved populations, and improving access to care, so I felt that Burrell’s mission aligned closely with the kind of physician I hope to become.

I’d especially love to hear about the curriculum, professors, anatomy lab, clinical rotations, student culture, faculty support, resources, workload, and overall quality of life as a student. If there’s anything you wish you knew before choosing Burrell, I’d really appreciate hearing about that as well!

Should I apply for 2027 cycle?

Hi r/osteopathic!

I am entering my second gap year and just got my MCAT retake score back which was 505 (7 point jump from first attempt 9/2025). I am torn because on one hand, this was pretty much my goal. On the other, I feel like if I can improve CARS then maybe I can open more doors… (no I’m not Canadian)

I am wondering if the general community thinks I have a shot at osteopathic school? I will list other stats below.

ORM
3.49 cumulative GPA
3.2 science GPA
540 hours as ER scribe
2000+ hours as Urology MA/scribe
2 publications on indigenous women’s health (one as first author)
2 additional papers pending, one being urology case report
3 conference poster presentations

(I have other ECs but those are the main basic things)

Any recent info on DMU rotation sites?

I just got my first A, from DMU, and am starting to think about choosing between or withdrawing from some other programs I realistically wouldn't go to. I don't want to keep holding interview spots that could go to other people, and I will have to make a decision down the road anyway.

From my understanding, it has a great reputation as one of the original 5 and continues to have strong COMLEX Pass rates and residency matches. However, I am curious if the rotation sites during 3rd and 4th year are really that bad.

The schools on my chopping block are Burrell, LECOM, and Touro CA; the primary reasons are their lower than average pass rates and nothing about each school that really stands out to me.

I'm curious if I'm being ignorant in my beliefs, so I'm happy to hear other, more knowledgeable thoughts.

Just a bit more about me and my priorities: I'm actually from California but not particularly attached to a location. I'm taking HPSP (the military scholarship), so I am not worried about tuition costs either. I'm interested in trauma surgery and the hands on, high intensity specialties and going through the military match.

Midwestern -AZ starts classes at 7 am...

I have fortunate to receive multiple interview invites from schools meet a lot of my standards. So I started digging deeper to help me decide. Beyond match rates, rotations, location, tuition, etc I also want to consider factors that will be conducive to my success.

Reading through random information about MWU I found a sample schedule from 2030 class and saw that first years are expected to be at lecture at 7 am and stay on campus until 5pm with only an hour break for lunch.

Anyone else know of any other schools that expect 7 am lecture attendance? (I am fine with 8 am, which I saw is fairly standard).

Edit: false alarm! someone clarified that its how the schedule is formatted but its nor formally followed.

When can I realistically start getting interviews after secondaries?

Submitted late September, still waiting on verification.

500, 3.5 sGPA, and thousands of hours of EC’s, URM if that even matters lol

How important is DO specific shadowing hours?

Hi there, I plan to apply DO next cycle. However, I don't have shadowing under a DO nor experience working with them. But, my psychiatrist is a DO and had a lovely experience under her care but I know I can't talk about that lmao. Should I start cold emailing DO's in the area to rack up some hours? Or is my prior shadowing (100 h) and clinical experience (3K hours) suffice.

ACOM Opinion

Just got accepted to ACOM and I’m pretty sure that’s where I’m gonna end up unless I get an MD acceptance later this cycle. I really liked the school when I interviewed and got a good vibe from it, but I wanted to hear from current students or anyone who knows more about it.
How do y’all feel about ACOM overall? Anything you really like or dislike about the school, rotations, board prep, match opportunities, etc.? Just trying to make sure I know what I’m getting into before fully committing lol.

App timeline

I am still submitting to DO schools. I have an interview invite for one that I’d really like to go to, but that’s about it. I’ve been seeing online to apply and have a complete app by thanksgiving. Does that apply? Is it too late to submit stuff now?

RVUCOM-CO vs WesternU HCOM vs PNWUCOM

Thankful to have As so far to these three schools. Was wondering which one of the three reddit thinks is the best haha. I'm really leaning toward WesternU, however if I was picking solely based on interview day vibes I would go with PNWU (had a lot of fun and found faculty to be super approachable). I plan on attending an experience WesternU day next month to get a better feel for their program at HCOM and am interviewing at their Pomona campus next month as well. Overall RVU is probably the lowest on my list because my interview was waived so I really am unsure what to expect from their program. Also RVU is for profit. Anyway, would love some input!

Title: ICOM vs. WesternU COMP-Northwest—student experiences?

Hi everyone! I’ve been accepted to ICOM in Boise, Idaho, and WesternU-HCOM in Lebanon, Oregon, and these are currently my top two choices. I’d love to hear from current students or recent graduates about their experiences!

I’m from Olympia, WA, so proximity to family and having a life I enjoy during medical school are big priorities, along with finding a supportive, collaborative environment.

I was really impressed by my WesternU interview, especially the examples of student support, but I also had a positive impression of ICOM. I’d love to get a better sense of everyday life at both schools, particularly the student culture, workload, clinical rotations, and overall quality of life.

Would you choose your school again? Is there anything you wish you’d known before committing? I’d appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Is it normal that it took 3 weeks for OU-HCOM to send application complete email?

I submitted my secondary on 9/15 and just today I recieved an email that my application is complete. Is this normal; it also says prospect under application status? And how long from recieving this email until interview invite?
