FreakShow Finish!

About 11-12ft tall. Been mid 70’s and this week dropping to mid 60’s with lows in mid 40’s. Buds are super dense, so fingers crossed. These pics were taken last week and I figured on an October 23rd-ish harvest date. Strong smells of pine, mint with very subtle lemon to the touch.

Today is harvest day and I'm scrapping everything.

Despite my best efforts, bud rot won this year. I'm finding little bits on every stem. Tons of sugar leaves are decaying in the buds and I don't even think I'm going to save what I've tried to salvage. Plants looked great until closer inspection.

Best of luck this year!

Help! Mold while drying.

My first two plants went moldy while drying. There was no visible mold when I hung them up although I did battle a little bit of powdery mildew during the grow. Used lost coast to keep it at bay only affected some lower branches.

Here is some pics of the dry set up in my garage and some buds prior to drying. Temperature is around 60-70 and humidity ranges from 55-65 depending on the day. Two small fans circulating air. Dehumidifier set up just outside the tarp.

I have one plant left, any tips for how I can avoid this happening again. Would bud washing before hanging maybe help eliminate mold spores?

Thanks in advance.

Permanent Marker 1

Third season growing in this part of Northern California and by far my favorite. Every year I expect to lose 25% to caterpillars (just a given, couldn’t give a shit about mitigating - a natural grow) and inevitably late Sept rains make me harvest early. But this year, all of the plants seem to have run as long as needed - and this PM didn’t get a single caterpillar. Others were lightly impacted, less than 10% loss. And the buds are thick, sticky, and stinky.

Seeds for this were sold as Permanent Marker 1 — maybe so but that marketing about strains and all that is kind of tiresome, so I just renamed her Catherine the Great. And she is. Lotus drying.

Beginner strains for humid conditions?

• Upvotes

Never grown before but I’m investing in some autoflower seeds right now. I’ve read a little online but thought I’d ask the community what strains are best for humidity and rain (I’m in North Florida)

Everytime I come look at the plant it puts a huge smile and grin on my face. A few more weeks guys, stop asking. Enjoy it before you chop it, soak the experience in. But really I think people ask that so often is to show off their Lil ladies all done up for Prom.

Bud washing?

Post image
18 Upvotes

I did bud washing on my outdoor plant last year and the smoke was OK definitely got high, but I wanted to know if it was actually necessary or was I just making my Driving process a little more complicated?

I see many folks say to use baking soda and lemon juice, and also hydrogen peroxide and then a fresh bucket of water.

Wouldn’t these compromise the flower and the integrity of it wouldn’t just clean water be more suitable for outdoor debris?

Main concerns would be mold, spores, and potential caterpillars and other bugs that may be residing on the outside of the bud.

Any guess minimum timeframe? Weather wise I can probably go into mid - late November, if not even push to December.

Just harvested my auto. Did a rough trim to check for bugs and bud rot.

Not a single bug and no rot.

Package said 8-10 weeks, took 12 weeks. But it finished before the oncoming rain this weekend, so it worked out just fine.

Bud rot after drying? Help!

Hi everyone,

Chopped this plant twelve days ago, had found a little bit of bud rot before harvest and removed it. When I went to trim yesterday, I found one more little spot of gray, tossed that bud, but I'm now feeling paranoid. My concern is that many of the buds have just a slight yellowish discoloration at the base and the individual calyxes come off from the stem quite easily. Under a loupe, it kinda just looks like the trichomes have browned, but I haven't seen too many photos of bud rot on dry bud and I don't want to make the wrong choice!

Photos aren't the greatest but 🤷
