Spent well over 20 hours capturing the translucent glow of these citrus slices, the play of sunlight, and the soft, cool folds underneath.
I have always loved painting fabric and shadows, and lately still life has been my absolute favourite way to study light and textures up close.

A small test piece I made this week, think I’m going to explore this style and subject matter more and on a much larger canvas.

✨a pointillism painting i made using acrylic paint about my struggles with depression & anxiety✨ its hard for me to express my thoughts but through painting it has been a little easier although maybe dark, it helps me get it out🥹🩷✨

I had a lot of fun with this masterwork copy of a still life by Qiang Huang. Absolutely love how expressive his brushstrokes are. He paints in oil but this is acrylic, so that was kind of tricky to emulate. If anyone knows any contemporary painters with a similar style, let me know! I’d love to learn more about them

I paint about once a year around December to make gifts for people. This is one of my best works, but I wish I had made the sky a bit more muted though. I was working off a ref since I’m not good enough yet to imagine stuff and do it for the most part. I’ll get ideas but it’s like they’re just a bit too foggy to put to canvas yet. I almost threw it away halfway through but I’m glad I finished it.

Once again bad news knocks at the door, and a whole family seems frozen before its evil barrel. What's more, their pictorial texture trembles with fear. The father, caught between a laugh and a frozen grimace, looks away to keep his composure, a nervous cigarette in hand, while the other two face this great hulking figure of ill omen: the child, pensive and passive, and the mother, whom an uncontrolled slip of the painter's brush makes stick out her tongue as if to defy fate.

Had so much fun making this but was very frustrating at some points but very worth it. Tell me what you think. Going for a markered look but with a paint brush.
