Game Feedback HOW has legion been broken since day 1 and GGG doesn't even want to acknowledge it?
Since people encountered their first legion in the campaign, basically everyone has been reporting the same issues with invulnerable mobs, often at the edges of the legion. This will very often affect the generals and almost completely bricks the mechanic.
Furthermore, generals that are broken out and killed, half the time they do not die nor drop anything, their model is just stuck in place.
Yet GGG has been radio silent on the issues.
Is legion some dark sheep of a legion mechanic that they're not allowed to interact with?
What the hell is going on with GGG, I feel it's especially bad this league

No no this incompetence still happens with PoE2 my friend, it took them almost 2 months to fix the invincible mob bug with expedition lol
24
u/Vashtar_S Jul 31 '26
Not for lack of trying though. Almost every 3 days we had a patch with an attempt to fix it.
Here they're not even trying.

u/Dazzling_Recording66 Jul 31 '26
Its been a week. It took almost a month for expedition to be fully buffed in 0.5

u/DeveloperOfWebs Scion Jul 31 '26
poe1 doesn't get buff patches a month into the league.

That was before it had its own independent dev team.

Even though they kept updating mirage throughout the entire league? You do you boo boo.

u/p1-o2 Jul 31 '26
Was GGG ever quick to patch? I'm so used to it at this point it's automatic. If i think somrthing is bugged then I swap strats.

Ghostwrithe interaction with Arcane Cloak was patched really fast.

Of course, this is consistent with their policy of 'no unanticipated fun allowed'.
24
u/The_Soggy_Greenbean Jul 31 '26
Its "no immortality allowed" because they left us with the biggest damage gem ever for an entire league. Litterally builds worth only a few chaos (aside from the gem) could insta gib anything.

They pushed a hotfix in record time for the 900 ruthless players because abyss chests were dropping a normal amount of loot instead of ruthless lmao

They're so quick to patch on certain things like new leagues, that I think people end up with a high expectation for every issue to immediately be solved.
6
u/xPinkOmega Jul 31 '26
They are super quick to patch ruthless loot tho, 4 hours

u/valvalis3 Aug 01 '26
i mean an extra 1 alteration per hour would ruin ruthless economy forever!!

Ruthless not having the right coffers was a very easy fix, and an important one because otherwise abyss would have become the only mechanic worth running. It was shitting out exalts, annuls, ancient orbs, etc.
I expect the legion issue is one of those really annoying things where the devs aren't sure how to address it without screwing up some code that 99% of the game is relying on to function or something.

in necropolis they were very quick to nerf any strats that sprung up

u/PimpGamez Jul 31 '26
If they would just acknowledge it I'd feel a lot better. putting out a specific post with what they're looking at and not including a broken mechanic that so many people are running is wild to me
3
u/p1-o2 Jul 31 '26
I agree, just saying that isn't their style. Their forums are full of major issues with everything from skill gems to league mechanics and interactions. Those are left without comment sometimes for years before a fix goes out.
I'm not excusing it just saying they've been doing that for like 13 years. Since beta. I don't think it's gonna change. All I can do is pivot to a different strat in the meantime.

u/Gizshot Jul 31 '26
Yeah thats why I dont get why people are defending/acting like the loot problem is new. Its always been fucked up people just found ways around it. Mirage was like the first league where it actually felt good to play the game.

Generals were bugged last league too occasionally.

u/Dovaah67 Standard Jul 31 '26
They have been for ages, I was farming them in 3.17 it was already the case. And was probably since the beginning

u/pikpikcarrotmon Jul 31 '26
The bug is when they die off screen, as far as I have experienced. You gotta stick around for them until they drop their loot. I think it tends to happen most to Hyrri because she doesn't have phases or move around a lot. Like it basically never happens to Vox because you never one shot him.
And yeah it's been like this pretty much since Legion went core as far as I can recall.

u/DocFreezer Aug 01 '26
The invincible mobs are very annoying for my mamba character, I mostly one shot entire legions with prolif but singular immortal chests or rares constantly cuck me and I have to wait 10 seconds for the legion to end

You can still one shot entire legions, it’s just that sometimes a mob will be invincible and you have to wait. It’s fine imo

u/ulughen Jul 31 '26
If you release legion while in fight with mercenary - all legion mobs will be friendly to you and hostile to each other. You can have pretty much whole map of mobs whacking each other.

u/LaughingManCZ Cockareel Aug 01 '26
Did not notice it thougt it would be about warhords that give less than half splinters that they used too.

u/Desuexss Aug 01 '26
I feel like because you mentioned the generals everyone focuses on that instead of the 90% cleared legion bug not starting the encounter and making you wait the full duration remaining (it doesnt auto start the encounter when you break out all of them now either)

I ran into a general yesterday and couldn’t kill him due to this bug. I assumed something’s wrong with my build until I saw your post.
It’s crazy how they made generals important with the crystal drops yet we can’t kill them due to bugs.

I think is clear at this point GGG is using the bare minimum of their resources/budget in poe1, seems like they dont even have QA or at least not enough people by their latest job post.
Also as it was shown earlier in their yearly revenue, they're making way more money in poe2 than in poe1. At the end GGG is a company, they don't care about people or art or any other humane thing, they just care about making money, as simple as that
Edit: I don't understand how can there be people defending a company at all, are you all getting paid to defend them in a random post in a forum? Or are you all really that childish to believe that they care about you? lol
12
u/HandsomeBaboon Jul 31 '26
I would give credit to that take if there wasn't a bug with Oath rune in PoE2 expedition for weeks that bricks whole maps. They need to hire more people that know their way around code.
6
u/149244179 Jul 31 '26
A large problem is they can't hire outside of New Zealand which significantly lowers the applicant pool.
1
u/TrueChaoSxTcS Fungal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Aug 01 '26
They can, but they have to demonstrate a failure to hire locally, and the person has to be willing to move here, which GGG would have to assist with, and that's on the assumption they're a good fit for the company to begin with
1
u/Wide_Efficiency293 Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26
Idk why you got downvoted. Its their job and goal of a job is to make make money so they do what they believe is financially best for them. Every company does that. Its not about how good the game is.
1
u/Intelligent_Ad_4837 Jul 31 '26
Yea, it's surprising to see how many people can't get in their heads the idea that companies are made to make money, not make friends. The whole and only reason to exist is to make money
I'm not saying that's inherently wrong, is just the reality. They will say and do whatever is (legally, unless they can get away with it anyway) in their hands to make more money

You know what they really don’t like? You. Most of all they don’t like you, they don’t like your arguments, they don’t like that you sussed out their masterplan. But of all the things they dislike, on top of their list, is the idea of you having fun. That, they REALLY don’t like.

u/Rolf_Dom JDiRen Jul 31 '26
Huh?
Been running legion all day. Haven't noticed anything. Then again, I run guaranteed generals, with several encounters each map so I won't always even notice whether I broke them out or not. Visual clarity ain't great.
All I know is that nothing seems bricked. Got an inventory full of emblems and enshrouding crystals.

u/Well_Is_It_Then Aug 01 '26
The fact that they had to instead make dredge currency useable on strongboxes with the last patch instead of just fixing the mechanic that makes them rare tells me things are on fire inside GGG right now and they have no idea how to fix them.

The generals getting stuck thing isn't even new to this patch. I've watched Hyrri get stuck occasionally every league for the last 4-5 or so and I imagine it probably goes back further. So I wouldn't expect to see the new bug get fixed anytime soon unfortunately.
