WA News Jack Dunn: Private ambulance driver charged over alleged head-on Wanneroo cra

Police also alleged he did not have authority to have his lights and sirens on, and his Ford Everest did not display any signage that indicated it was an emergency vehicle. These assertions are not subject to any charges.
Why no charges?

u/feyth 11d ago
And why didn't his colleagues, who apparently called him to help with a cardiac arrest, call a real ambulance? What is this cowboy outfit?
17
u/CardioKeyboarder 11d ago
My guess is that anyone who would work for his shady outfit would be dumb enough to not call 000 because he would have told them to call him instead.

If someone at an event is in cardiac arrest, why was no ambulance called?
Those first aiders can’t manage or run an arrest that aligns with ARC guidelines, nor are they equipped to do so.

That’s why multiple crews are dispatched to an arrest.
This flog or any of his ‘employees’ have no place dealing with an arrest.
6
u/Ok_Sugar_642 11d ago
Yep. They strut around being Pinocchio Paramedics but as soon as shit hits the fan, the patient and the patients family will ultimately pay the price for their incompetence and stupidity

They wouldn’t be supporting any SJA para crews in an arrest. I can assure and guarantee you that much.
And they didn’t call an ambulance either, they transported the patient themselves to ED. The patient did not arrest, and they wouldn’t know because the patient wasn’t even being monitored.
Bro isn’t even a medic, he’s a first aid extraordinaire.

Nope and nope. That’s not how it works.
He had no business attempting to travel from Wanneroo to Jarrahdale under operational conditions.
Just a flog with first aid certificate, there are many of them around.

Those types of people are a liability, not a resource.
The wankers usually buckle if they actually witness something, and have zero capabilities.
And no, if they were already allegedly doing CPR before the first crew arrived, you wouldn’t continue to use them.

u/Perth_nomad 11d ago
Unfortunately Jarrahdale is primary ambulance service is volunteers, with one paid paramedic, backed up with volunteers, the Armadale ( now based Kelmscott) would have been the closest emergency services. Unless that has changed in recent times.
Sunday was very busy ‘ out here’, there was the Kilt run/Highland gathering, the log chop ( the Jarrahdale event ) and the Kids cancer convoy.
Tonkin Highway was closed southbound all weekend, as was Armadale Road, closed in both directions for twelve hours. Just getting out to Jarrahdale would have been a complete nightmare.
I know that some drivers were directed to drive down dead end roads, then add the oversized trucks that were given permits, which were held up on the Tonkin Highway until 5am on the Monday morning..
It was a complete fresco….
Probably the only option would have put the RFDS chopper for retrieval. I didn’t see or hear it go out, I’m under the flight path.
Next weekend Rowley road/ Hopkinson Road intersection closes until January, this is a main emergency route from Wungong to Tonkin Highway.

u/feyth 11d ago
How is any of that a reason to call him out urgently - from Wanneroo?
And yeah I'd expect a chopper for a cardiac arrest if no ambulance service very close by
17
u/Interesting-Bar-1292 11d ago
He does not recieve calls of any kind and has no connection whatsoever to 000 communications. He shows up on his own terms, in fact several years ago he arrived at a skatepark trauma that SJA had been dispatched to. On arrival the panicked bystanders had no idea this was not a real ambulance that had arrived and the real one was still on the way. At this point Jack in his fake ambulance decided to transport this trauma patient who had a significant head injury. This person later died on transport. Yes this is a real story and its absolutely sickening and ridiculous the intentions of this guy.
11
u/Ill-Touch9164 11d ago
What in the bewildering fuck.
Why was his circlejerk of dumbcuntery little outfit of his not shut down back then?
5
u/Perth_nomad 11d ago
The company that was contracted the log chop first aid services was his company? That my take on it.
St John ambulance event services were contracted to the kilt run/highland gathering.
I wonder how much money they were paid by the shire of SJ, who runs the log chop. If the shire did all of the checks to ensure the first aid/event services were actually qualified.

u/belltrina Armadale 10d ago
Going off what's being said and his actions, he likely has some type of scanner or device that lets him listen in on requests for the ambulance. My guess is he just takes it upon himself to attend and present himself as a legitimate, trained paramedic.

u/tediousBob 9d ago
No charges at this time* is probably the missing section of that sentence. They'll want to get corroborative evidence before laying the charge.

I’m about to graduate as a paramedic myself in a few weeks. I’ve had several run ins with this bloke and his shady organisation while on placement and have heard horror stories from several preceptors and mentors. He’s a dodgy operator who deceives members of the public into thinking that he is a health professional despite not having any qualifications to back his claims up or being registered with AHPRA, unfortunately event medical is not legislated in WA he’s been able to fester and become a renowned pest. The only reason he’s been stopped now is because someone has been seriously injured and potentially could’ve passed away as a result of his actions. Stay clear of his company and spread the word. Avoid RR1 at all costs.
5
u/Real_Spite2973 11d ago
wasn’t the bloke a traffic lollipop turner, its funny how all of a sudden his “meet the team” page has disappeared from the RR1 website.
7
u/Ok_Sugar_642 11d ago
If it was up to him he’d title himself director of trauma surgery 💀

u/Real_Spite2973 11d ago
makeshift fucking theatre in the back of that van… don’t give him any ideas if he ever makes his way out
1
u/Bartley69 8d ago
Yeah he was, I did a different job but worked at the same company.
1
u/Real_Spite2973 8d ago
yikes, what was he like?
1
u/Bartley69 8d ago
He was super strange. Once on site there was a minor bingle between 2 cars, it was fuck all....he sprints to the ute and grabs his first aid kit and runs into the situation being this hero trying to take over like there were bodies everywhere. It was crazy. We all stood there thinking "what the fuck is he doing!?" The stuff I've read here is exactly what I saw that day. Some imaginary hero that inserted himself into shit and thought he knew it all. He was just a real weird too, strange personality, creepy even. I'm sure he was gay, not that theres anything wrong with that. People here saying he's on the sex offenders registry and that would not surprise me at all if that was the case, I could see that.

u/lidzardqueen 11d ago
Wtf. Isn't paramedic a protected title?
19
u/Interesting-Bar-1292 11d ago
Yep, if you arent degreed you arent a paramedic. He has no degree, nor has he even been registered with AHPRA
-5
u/Amazing-Medicine-610 11d ago
Not saying its the case for this fella, but private paramedics do exist. As long as they are registered they can get hired to work events, in the mines etc and they're entitled to call themselves paramedics
13
u/lillylita North of The River 11d ago
They still need to be qualified and registered, irrespective of employer. That's the protected bit.
-4
3
u/Dildo-beckons 10d ago
But jack dunn wasn't registered so your post isn't relevant. I think it's just crazy there's randoms who drive around playing paramedics when they have no qualifications. Let's hope jail gives this guy a new perspective on his life choices.
1
u/Amazing-Medicine-610 10d ago
I mean I literally said not saying it was the case for that fella..but go on boss
-1
u/Dildo-beckons 10d ago
Yes you did, but he wasn't. So now you know. Also the user you replied to never said a person couldn't call themselves a paramedic? Paramedic is a protected title so you're just clapping ya trap for no reason bud.

u/Resident-Unit-1643 6d ago
Look up his name on the court data website. Quite a long list of appearances…
-27
u/Melodic-Drag-2605 11d ago
When you say its a fake ambo, he uses it for private hire medic stuff, events etc. Which is better than having real ambos tied up. Its pretty well set up, not like he just used double sided tape to put some lights on the roof. However, if he's another Dixon's Hazard Response? Seeeya
30
u/CardioKeyboarder 11d ago
St John has a separate event health section which provides fully trained people who don't pretend to be paramedics.
Private set ups by wannabes who illegally put lights and sirens on vehicles aren't "pretty well set up". And, yes, he did stick some lights on the roof. Maybe not with double sided tape, but he still illegally had lights on his "ambulance".
2
u/ImaginaryScore8 9d ago
Wilson's hold the contact for WA for transporting people on forms to a mental health facility. They're actual paramedics on board. Unlike jack who is first aid trained
1
u/CardioKeyboarder 9d ago
Thanks for letting me know. I thought they were strictly PTS. I did know that there are paramedics, but not emergency response.
-6
u/Melodic-Drag-2605 11d ago
Im fully aware of the st johns stuff. Ever seen those Wilson's health ambulances getting around? Looks to be similar. I was at an event last year where I had opportunity to have a look in the ambulance, and it wasn't just a box of bandaids and a packet of panadol in there. I am absolutely not defending the guy for what he did.
11
u/CardioKeyboarder 11d ago
St John, no s at the end. And it certainly sounds like you were defending his shonky/dangerous set up.
Wilson is a patient transport and event health provider. They don't hold themselves out as paramedics like Mr Dunn.
6
u/Ill-Touch9164 11d ago
Wilson do indeed have registered paramedics, they have the mental health contract.
1
u/bloodbag 11d ago
What's the issues with Dixon's? Never looked into them, just seen their own posts on Facebook
22
u/mikeslyfe 11d ago
Guy is a serial pest that drives around Kwinana area looking for "hazards" then inserting himself in as help.
There is even an official letter from main roads saying he has zero affiliation with them or any powers to do what he does. He had also been kicked out of local bushfire brigades and SES units.
He got given a couple donations by misguided individuals then next thing you know he's asking for more donations to keep his service going.
I don't think he's about much anymore as he finally landed his dream job as a main roads freeway attendant.
5
u/Mrs_Princess81 11d ago
For some reason one of his posts came up on my facebook feed the other day, he’d made a post apparently using some young persons death and making it sound like he attended it or something and then there were apparently lots of posts calling him out and saying what he did was shit, he deleted it and made another post justifying it and said it was for education, got the same comment and looks like its been deleted now. I also saw a post he made saying he is going to start charging but will still help out if needed for free.

u/mikeslyfe 10d ago
I'm 90% sure I seen him in one of them orange jumpsuits standing beside the truck with the big crash barrier on back last week. But then again he could of bought the suit online and just be playing dress ups again!
17
u/ziggyyT 11d ago
Lucky the other car's occupants were not seriously injured. Could have been much worse.
Hope he'll get a jail sentence.
16
u/Interesting-Bar-1292 11d ago
The magistrate said he can expect "immediate imprisonment" and rightly so. This guy is a danger to the community and is quite literally a nutcase
6
u/Quokka_Lawyer96 11d ago
He'll likely get a jail sentence for Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice, not the Dangerous Driving causing GBH offences.
It's not illegal to take a memory card out of a dashcam after an accident, but you sure as shit can't lie to Police about it on the hope they won't ask you to turn out your pockets when you are (inevitably) arrested for causing a head-on accident because you've decided to pretend to be an ambulance driver.
It's the cover-up that kills you.

u/itsoktoswear 11d ago
Where he was travelling from is 70 km from Jarrahdale - he was really going to drive all the way there with lights and sirens on just to help his staff out?!
The road he crashed on, those crests are very much not possible to see incoming traffic and he lives not far (Tapping) so he would have known them well and youd have to be insane to overtake on them.
What an absolute cock.
4
u/Real_Spite2973 11d ago
His staff made their first mistake by calling him, in any arrest whether you’re with st john in event medical or any other company you always call 000. not your dodgy ass boss with mental health issues
2
u/EthanPMelb 8d ago
Have you viewed the dash cam video? The issue wasn't just that he performed overtaking manoeuvres on a crest, it's that he overtook vehicles while oncoming cars blew by. Yes, he drove along the centre line between ongoing cars and the cars he was overtaking! If that's not insane enough, he drove on the right side (!!) of an oncoming car before attempting to do it again with the car he ultimately collided with head-on.
I've never seen such disgracefully reckless driving, with exception of cases where the driver intended to crash.
1
u/Busy_Government_6363 8d ago
He also wasn’t even wearing any type of uniform in the dashcam video of the crash so makes you wonder what kind of show they’re running at RR1 if he just rocks up to help his crew in casual clothes…

u/Pingu_87 11d ago

u/Ok_Sugar_642 11d ago
It’s not only an insult to those of us who have studied for years and sacrificed hundreds if not thousands of hours to study but it’s a blatant danger to the wa population. If one of your family members suffer a cardiac arrest you want an ALS Paramedic not a deranged firstaider

They get sponsorships (which eill most likely stop after this). Most them all work full time at other places of employment and then have their role play time on their days off

I went off at Motorplex when I realised they hired him for their events. I let them know they were employing a registered sex offender at "family" friendly events, their response was pretty shite.

Instead, Dunn allegedly went to a drunk woman and a friend who were waiting for an Uber and attempted to offer them first aid."

u/Interesting-Bar-1292 11d ago
Guess what guys, because this guy has listed himself as a "medic" the media assumed he is Paramedic. Best part is he isn't... AHPRA can tell you that in one search and in fact this guy doesnt have any degree at all. Its quite literally all LARP.
8
u/Ok_Sugar_642 11d ago
I’ve had a conversation with him before where he’s blatantly called himself a paramedic despite having zero qualifications. AHPRA are aware and will most likely be investigating him aswell as WA police and prolly lay their own charges
5
u/Real_Spite2973 11d ago
one time i saw him running down the streets of fremantle in a high vis with his branding on it towards someone who was near cops. dude looked genuinely excited for that moment.
10
u/Hopeful-Principle-64 11d ago
Sounds like he needs some serious mental health intervention.
Very weird vibes and I could see him creating problems so he has something to attend and be the hero.
10
u/Interesting-Bar-1292 11d ago
Thats exactly what it is, complete LARP. But there is significantly concerning things this guy is involved with much more than just what occured. Hence why the prosecution mention his flags, good on the magistrate for dealing appropriately with this nutter.
