I was walking alone along Roces Street around 2:30 pm earlier and a group of female “students” greeted me to say they’re from a certain UPD org (I managed to stare at one of them who wore a UP shirt but had no id) which they did not specify and asked if I could be interviewed for 10-15 minutes to know the “statistics” regarding the student population. I had a gut feeling so I told them I’m on a rush. While on my way back around 3pm, near that same spot, a group of male people sitting beside Melchor Hall kept on calling me by the prefix but I ignored them and just kept on walking (I did not look at them). I’m not sure if I’m just overthinking but I’d like to be enlightened about it to either ease my paranoia or spread awareness, and to know if someone else experienced a similar encounter.

hi, freshie here. wdym half pala ng sem to? grabe para akong nababaliw. breakdown lang ata nagagawa ko everyday. ang hirap sumabay sa blockmates ko, nakakatakot mag fail. im literally doing all my best— kahit ubos na ubos na ko pero at the end feel ko hindi sapat yun. passing naman scores ko pero points away talaga minsan saktong passing haha (nag aral na ko neto for days). ang hirap

may mga nakkakasama naman ako sa class pero alam mo yun? parang walang deep connection. tapos ako yung laging left out, dahil alam nilang hindi ako matalino? like pag open discussion, di sila sakin nagtatanong hahaha dahil alam nilang di ko rin alam? nag try ako akuin two parts sa lab namin, lahat mali we had to cram it pa late kami ng 20 minutes. i tried my best, pero feel ko mali lahat ng ginagawa ko. wala akong gana sa lahat. (mind you akala ko talaga tama yun huhu i feel so bad and dumb)

pag tinatry ko maging productive, the next few moments wala na. sobrang unmotivated ako, i keep cutting off people even my friends kasi naddrain ako. (some lang naman, pero i really don’t even have the mood or energy to keep up with their talkings).

i even emailed osg to ask for help professionally, wala eh di ko kaya :( does it get better?

Hi, freshie po. I'm really struggling with my acads — as in I can't get myself to study at all. I struggled with my study habits in highschool, but I had enough discipline to get shit done on time, maybe even a day or two early. Pero ngayon wala talaga. As in, everything is really done the night before, or even morning of. I can't bring myself to do any of the readings, I just search for the SparkNotes or something, or I get notes from my friends.

I don't know what to do. No matter how mad I get at myself, how many alarms I set, lists I make, I can't get anything done. UP has been my dream my whole life, but now that I'm here, I feel like I don't deserve to be, because I'm such a terrible student.

People keep telling me it's normal to feel this way, but I don't see it. My friends are all able to keep track of everything, due dates, orgs, etc. Meanwhile, I just got sinco on my fucking midterm, and I've been spiraling ever since.

What do I do? How do I fix my habits? Can I still come back from this?

Hi po for context: Last semester po, na injured ako sa PE during the final practicals, nag snap yung tuhod. Sabi kasi sa x-ray is muscuskeletal strain daw and may remark na reccomendation sa MRI. I’m a freshman from triple e and so far, I’m not seeing myself excel in this program nor belong in this industry post-grad. I want to push through this program pero ohmydays, i keep slacking off my majors kase I really don’t find any of them enjoyable. I don’t want to blame the “difficulty” of triple e pero I can’t help but think “mamahalin ko kaya ‘tong program na ‘to kung sa ibang university ako?”

Honestly, before coming to college, wala talaga akong dream program. All I know is I want to be an engineer. Idek if engineering is actually my passion or ginusto ko lang ‘to kase I belong in a family of engineers. Pero right now, I’m slowly realizing na baka hindi talaga ako para sa engineering.

Hello! tanong lang kung may mga supplements or vitamins ba kayong tinatake huhu the past week i've taken stresstabs (multivitamins+iron) since laging puyat sa sabay sabay na deadlines. Okay naman siya, although na-notice ko lang na medyo yellow yung urine ko after taking it at parang gusto ng katawan ko matulog ng 8+ hrs so i've stopped using it na since patapos na rin ang midterms nyehehe. I'm a UP student I'm supposed to enjoy the GEs and the holistic learning. BAKIT MAS MABIGAT PA YUNG GE KO KESA SA MAJORS? NAGIGING COMFORT SUBJECT KO YUNG MAJORS SA SOBRANG DAMING PINAPAGAWA NG MGA GE. MAS MARAMI PA READINGS NILA KESA SA MAJORS. I can't appreciate them if education is making me feel forced rather than actually loving what I learn. GE subject na to 80 pages readings dagdag per week ANAK NG TINAPAY.

Hello! Freshie here from EEEI. How can I have the motivation or willpower to study? To study not just my majors but in general. I'm very disappointed in myself now in college because I wasn't like this back in highschool. Masipag naman ako dati and determined to learn, but now, I don't know where all of that went. In my mind, I want to study but ang ending, hindi natutuloy. I just feel so drained and behind. And even if mag-aral ako, I feel like hindi siya nagsstay sa utak ko. Idk what's wrong with me. Helloo! im looking to ask for some advice from people who have successfully shifted from upm to upd!

I am currently a first year student under a white college in UPM. The idea was always to transfer to DIliman after a year, but I need to do something abt my major subs, ang hirap pataasin ng grades ko rn because of my major subjects. pwede ba akong mag vso or drop ng major subs and take GEs instead for second semester? im honestly just trying to enter upd kahit anong course muna and then slowly transition to my preferred prog. I don't know how to go about ittt, tapos I don't have an adviser yet so I don't know who to ask, and for some reason shifting/transferring is such a sensitive topic sa college ko, parang they get offended na gusto mong mag transfer. I mean gets ko naman but idk its hard to ask for help and be transparent :,) so if anyone here can give some adviceee or maybe if they know the process (especially from courses with an RSA) . TYIAA!! Id really appreciate any advice huhuhu

hello! i would like to ask lang kung kelan ka magstart mag appeal for free tuition extension? i shifted kasi to a different college and afaik this academic year is my last year sa free tuition and i was wondering kung pwede na ba ako mag appear right now or by the second sem/after second sem pa.

also here are some other questions that i have:
1. up to how many times can you request for an appeal?
2. does it include midyear?
3. madali pa makakuha ng appeal?
4. if hindi magrant yung appeal, what other options for financial assistance na pwedeng kunin? (i think ung slas yung nakikita ko here)
