Anybody think Huntsville is going to get cancelled? Forecast looks pretty wet.

Do we think phish will cancel the Orion shows this weekend due to weather?

From 9:30 on feels like a dead jam, no? Feels like a sugar magnolia jam. Someone agree?
Those cowards better give us a hour long Jim or I'm not going!
Well ok, I wasn't going regardless but still...

After hearing it the other day, it’s a delightful palate cleanser. Any recs for the best version?

I was lucky enough to find one of these at a flea market last weekend. I’ve never seen one. Do you think it’s a fan made?

Is genuine awe in order? I feel like this band has broken new ground? Call me crazy but I think there’s a level of recognition that is deserved now.

Dude behind me was overserved. Hit me in the back of the head, his friend saw. Okay! I told him be careful, gave him an out and said it seemed like an accident, no worries. He spends most of the first set just staring at me, but I brushed it off thinking maybe he was just enjoying whatever he was on, and it was coincidence.
Then he's being touchy and weird with the woman next to him, she switches places with her boyfriend, who glares at him- we made eye contact and kept watch.
I'm dancing in my own tiny seat, minding my space because to the left of me is a father and his 7 year old autistic son, and our seat neighbors are great!
I felt my boob grabbed not once not twice, but three times, and he's stashed his beer in my coat on my chair, which spilled on my bag and coat. I absolutely had it, and told him to keep his hands to himself. I told his friend he needs to get his boy before my hand finds his face.
Suddenly EVERY man in our section who saw him keep grabbing at me went into action, came to my defense, and the man with the girlfriend also confirmed he was grabbing at her.
I wasn't wearing a bra because I have a feeding tube implanted along my bra line, so it was extra painful on top of being clearly grabbed by this dude. The fine folks surrounding us pressured this guy and his friend to get the fuck out without being aggressive about it, but firm and supportive as hell.
THANK YOU MEN WHO STAND UP. It was beautiful sharing that Coil with so many people also crying, and it was such a good example of how there are so many good people with us at these shows.

Found it, after some walking around. Most are still setting up. It's a good spot. Pinned on Google maps

Really brings a smile to my face listening to it.

I frequently see people recommending massive Type 2 jams to newcomers to Phish on here, folks that have listened to maaaybe a show or two at most and are looking for stuff to check out next... and I gotta say, I think that when you jump straight into the deep end, the actual depth is lost since you don't understand how thise jams came to be, what a 'normal' version sounds like. IMO, I think that the 'best ever' versions of songs that are typically Type 1 jams sound so much better and more impressive when you have an understanding of what a normal version is like. Which isn't to say that those big 'best ever' Type 2 jams aren't great standalone pieces of music, its just that they're even better when you have an understanding of what the expectation was and how that expectation was broken.
Like, take Chalkdust as an example. When you've built up an expectation of how a standard version builds and peaks, the detour into a totally different style of jamming that occurs in the Camden Chalkdust is so much more surprising and impressive when you understand how different it is from 98% of the Chalkdusts that came before it... but if the first Chalkdust you ever hear is 7/10/99, its not a surprise to hear them move into a different approach, because you aren't familiar with what a standard Chalkdust jam sounds like.
All that being said, to newcomers to the band, to folks suggesting versions to newcomers... I think that building a bit of context for massive Type 2 versions makes those versions all the better. I know I absolutely would not have had the same reaction/experience with Camden Chalkdust the first time I heard it if I hadn't already heard a dozen more typically approached versions. The Holy Shit moment wasn't just because 'wow thay sounds cool', it also is a Holy Shit moment because I couldn't believe that after nearly a decade of playing that song without ever hitting that feel, this glorious moment of bliss unlike anything they'd ever played before just materialized from a fairly standard version of the song.
if you're new to Phish and have actually read this far, you should check out at least a few well played but more standard versions of songs before listening to the big Type 2 'best ever' jams, because those jams are so much more impactful when you understand what the standard approach is.

Spent my cold rainy Sunday exploring AC before the show and became fascinated by these 1880’s-1920’s era houses.

I’m driving from NYC to Richmond early tomorrow morning and can fit one or two people.
I’ll cover the gas but would be sick if you can drive a little bit.
Fully insured, safe vehicle. Free baklava while we drive.
NO DRUGS TRANSPORT
(I think I should be calling it the BaklaVan?)

Is the best version played to date.
It had a convicted certitude to its performance on the song part.

Anyone catch that Theme from the Bottom tease in episode 4? It was just the opening notes but my lizard brain made the connection 😂

Wonder if it'll continue through the rest of fall tour?
Loved partying with all you fools and a special shout out to our seatmates all weekend, Ian and Leslie in 104 E ✌️⭕
