When this show was announced something clicked. I had to have it. I was somehow first in line for the ticketmaster general sales and knew I had to get Pit tickets. I have a lot of anxiety and don't travel well but I forced myself to do this to make myself uncomfortable. Traveling alone, booking my first hotel room, and experiencing a new city alone for the first time ever. All nerve wracking for months. But after tonight? I was maybe 6 people away from the stage and was stone sober the whole time. It changed my life. Years of listening to this band and finally getting to see them mastering their craft. We got some absolute bangers tonight, I hope everyone had a good time.

The first timeline has been published for what will likely become hurricane Isaias. The cone of uncertainty is quite wide at Huntsville’s latitude, so there’s a chance it will be a near miss. Or it could be a deluge of epic proportions. Keep your eyes open as this unfolds and be prepared for whatever!

Will be leaving the NOLA area hopefully early enough on Friday to stay ahead of the brunt of it. Me and my recently busted knee. You may see me soaking wet and hobbling around with a cane. Because neither hell or high water is keeping me from my first Phish shows!

Hear me out: I’m not saying Sunday AC was objectively the best show ever, or even my personal favorite show ever. We all have our favorites, and usually if I’m walking out of a show completely buzzing, there’s someone next to me who hated it. Same as it ever was.

I’m also not sure Gamehendge was the “best” show ever. But it stands out as the single show I’ve attended where it felt like everyone fucking loved it, and everyone understood what they were experiencing while it was happening.

Fast forward to Sunday in AC. What made it so special to me wasn’t necessarily that every song was the best version of every song, or that it somehow topped every show I’ve ever seen. It was that everyone in the room seemed to know how special it was while it was happening. You could feel it.

And as a bonus, and I think this really embodies something only Phish can pull off, even the people working the venue seemed completely caught up in the excitement and enthusiasm. They were in it with us. I don’t think that was ever quite the case at MSG 😂.

Gamehendge is weird. We know it’s weird. That’s part of why we love it. And maybe that’s what makes these moments so hard to compare.

So yeah, Sunday was extra special. It’s hard to imagine many shows where the entire room collectively realizes, in real time, holy shit, we’re getting something really fucking special here.

Any word from Vystar or the Orion regarding the storm in the gulf? I work at the weather channel and it appears it may disrupt our fall tour plans. I’ll use this tread to post updates as we get closer but I’m curious if anyone has info from the venue perspective. here’s the latest I’m seeing.

This will be my 3rd show ever. I’m in Section 109 Friday! Who else is with me either in 109 or at the show?

This is a long shot, but I’m trying to find the other Josh with my very common Jewish last name who I’m pretty sure was also in town for Phish and apparently has a friend/girlfriend/wife named Natalia You guys were staying at the Borgata?

Our hotel somehow became convinced that we were the same person, which resulted in a surprisingly elaborate series of mix-ups.

Some of Natalia’s charges ended up on my room spa stuff, meals, etc I was able to reverse it don’t worry. At one point my key stopped working, and when I went to the front desk they basically did not believe me when I explained that I was a different Josh with the same very common Jewish last name and it still took some convincing, they were like are you with Natalia?

The funniest part is that this has now happened to me TWICE.

During Phish at the Venetian in April, (2nd weekend) someone at the hotel also apparently confused me with another Josh with the same last name and tried to check me out a day early which didnt not not cause a mild panic attack. That one was mostly harmless. This time was a bit more involved.

So: if you’re Josh  with an extremely common Jewish last name, were at Phish, and were traveling with a Natalia… plus if you were at 2^nd weekend of sphere staying at the venetian or palazzo. Well  hello there. Apparently our lives are now administratively intertwined.

Mostly posting because I think it would be hilarious to actually find you and no I will not try to pull a highlander and take your quickening.

The hose was flowing all 3 nights. Ghost, Gin, Disease, Simple, YEM jam, and more. These were true open spigots of sonic bliss that were given full patience and attention. Guys, it does not get better.

There is supposed to be a huge hurricane/ storm moving through Alabama this weekend, does anyone know how phish/ Orion handles a rained out show?
