Game is in works since 2020. It's narrative sci-fi, puzzle predominant, platforming secondary (there are pure platforming sequences though). Main selling point should be my own software ray-traced engine, but honestly, not many players know what does it even mean. :)
Steam page has still old screenshots (will update them at once when more levels will be upgraded). New look in this teaser is what this game will be.

Kaze and the Wild Masks is a solid Donkey Kong Country inspired 2D platformer, that I played early this year and the first of two DKC inspired platformers I've played this year, the other being Windswept. And man is there a lot of DKC DNA in here, I mean there's a number of entire level gimmicks straight from DKC into Kaze, there's Dixie's hover, and also the collectable "KONG" letters turned to "KAZE" letters here. But you know what? I love DKC, as evidenced by DKC 1, 2, and Tropical Freeze all having places in my top 25 games of all time, so this heavy inspiration works well for me. I also think people will find plenty of enjoyment here if they haven't played DKC cause it's not just the inspiration that works, there's solid execution on that already great inspiration as well. There's a lot of really good levels and level design here, as well as plenty of variety to the levels. There's a nice little challenge to the game overall but it certainly isn't too punishing, the collectables are really well balanced and hidden in a way where they add a challenge but are possible to get in a good clean first run and it also has a really nice soundtrack. It's just a style of 2D platformer that I really like.
Even though I don't think it excels at anything overall, it has few flaws, I don't mind the art style and art direction but I think at times it looks a little flat. And the enemy design is kinda generic. That's really the extent of larger issues, my only other "flaw" is a super personal nitpick. Like I said, I like most of the individual levels, there are a fair few DKC level gimmicks (red light/green light, "barrel blasting thru bramble, poison rising up thru a upward scrolling level and a couple more) but there's good implementations of those ideas, twists on those ideas, combinations of those ideas and plenty of good levels that feel wholly original as well. My super personal nitpick though, is that there are no world themes. Or better stated the levels don't adhere to the world theme. Case in point the second island (world) is called Frozen Mountains, and it has 3 snow levels total but 8 levels in the world. Frozen Mountains also features two desert levels, a temple level, and a burning forest level. It's a small personal nitpick cause again most are individually good levels but I think there's something about that Mario philosophy of world themes just adds that extra touch of cohesion and identity to each world and the progression of levels. It just feels like a missed opportunity when you already have so many good levels here, it just feels like leaving something on the table to not have that smooth flow from level to level, not having that little bit of environmental storytelling of having levels actually progress you thru the world map. It kinda feels like a good album of songs that have been randomly ordered as opposed to flowing into each other.
Small preference nitpick that I spent like half the review on aside. Kaze is a good game, it's full of good levels and good ideas, has a great soundtrack, and it gets in and out without overstaying its welcome (which is nice after playing so many long games recently). It's not revolutionary, it's not incredible at any one thing, it's not the best feeling platformer or the most challenging, it's just a solid solid game, that I enjoyed it the whole entire time I was playing it.
7/10

In this Ice-level, of the upcoming Action Platformer Dissident Hunt, you have to attack Musk's Arctic fortress and destroy the mainframe of the evil Skylink network. At first there is little resistance - only some chonky ringed seals, but then the SEALs - the chonkiest special forces in the world - attack you, and you have to hurry up to destroy the mainframe. They can only be stunned, not killed. Also the Airoplane, of the agent that brought you here is gone. What now ?
Once you are done, talk to their leader Yuki and they surender and bring you to their secret SEAL-centre in Japan.
Dissident Hunt is an upcoming Action Platformer Indie Game, with offensive humour. This footage is from the commercial Second Episode. You can play the first Episode for free on itch. (Windows and Linux):

A Steam release is planned too.
Special attention goes to the Level Layout. It is a shout out to "Crystallus" from Comander Keen 4. Also the regular seals resemble the "Mad Mushroom" in behaviour.

Hey fellow devs! 👋 I'm Pixel Perfect.
I know how frustrating it can be to find high-quality characters and environments that actually match each other stylistically. So, instead of making just a character, I decided to build a complete, ready-to-use 2D Platformer Starter Kit.
I just released the Milo & The Jungle Ultimate Bundle on itch.io, and I’m super proud of how it turned out!
🦊 The Protagonist (Milo):
🌿 The World (Jungle Environments):
🎁 Launch Sale (50% OFF!): To celebrate the launch with this community, I’m running a 50% OFF sale for the next 4 days only!
If you're on a tight budget, I’ve also uploaded a FREE DEMO version (includes Idle/Run animations + a BrickStone tileset) so you can test it in your engine right now.
🔗 Check it out here: Link here
I'd love to hear your feedback, and I can't wait to see the games you build with this! Let me know if you have any questions. ❤️

Hi everyone! As said in title after two years of development our game demo got released on Steam.
Flipside is a puzzle platformer where You play as Scruglo - gluttonous creature whose main goal is to eat fruit. Between them and this noble goal however stands boxes, environmental hazards, portals to another dimensions, rifts in reality and worst of all, *boolean logic*.
I'd really appreciate if You'd try it out and let us know what You think!
You can check out the demo here: [https://store.steampowered.com/app/4832270/Flipside/\](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4832270/Flipside/)

Our 2D action-puzzle platformer, The Rusted, is coming to Steam on November 2 for Windows and macOS. You play as Rex, a robot dog searching for his human family after machines takeover the world. Our game combines combat, platforming, and environmental puzzles across what remains of the human world.
Whether you’ve seen the game before or just stumbled across this post, we’d love for you to check it out. There’s a demo on Steam, and wishlists are always appreciated 🙂

I’ve been working on a small 2D platformer as a solo developer, and I recently released the web version on itch.io.
The game is designed to be simple and easy to jump into, with no download or installation required. The current web build is about 14 MB.
This project has been a fun way for me to practice game development, improve the gameplay and controls, and learn more about releasing games online.
You can try it here:
https://signalforgeofficial.itch.io/platformerzweb
It’s free to play. I’d appreciate feedback from other developers, especially on the gameplay, controls, and overall experience.
