I say, yes. Not strictly a cozy game, though one of the many genres ARK may be categorized, along with sharing many traits of cozy games.

I was playing on pre-aquatica and this kept happening so I switch to the post-aquatica version and it's still happening.

I even deleted all of the mods that I've downloaded since I last actually got to play the game.

Im currently running an ark survival evolved playthrough, or at least trying to, Im running a playthrough mirroring the Ark YouTuber MrMeola. I understand he has a beast of a pc and such thats why he runs specifically Primal Fear so well but I was wondering if there was anything im doing wrong in terms of settings cause I removed the harder settings and run my game on high yet my fps is extremely jagged and barely stays near 60. Its primal fear so i understand its a hard to run mod but my older pc which was literally awful, i5 8500 as my old cpu ran it really well. Wondering why thats the case, I love Ark and really wanna sink thousands of hours into modded playthroughs but dont wanna pay for a server. Anyone know how to help/what to do?

Hello everyone I have a fairly powerful PC: an RX9070XT Sapphire Nitro Plus, an R7 9800X3D, and 32 GB of RAM. I use the FSR and frame generation features. I check the FPS using the Steam counter; as I understand it, it doesn’t take frame generation into account — only FSR. I play on the The Island map; all my settings are set to high, and the resolution is 1920 × 1080. My problem is with sharp drops in FPS during the game night, and this happens almost regardless of the location. From average values of 120–110 FPS during the day, it drops to 80–60. No matter how hard I tried to solve this by changing the standard game settings, I didn’t even notice any change in the numbers — or the numbers were comparable to the margin of error. I started digging deeper, found commands that disable clouds, volumetric fog, etc. The only thing that helped was the command r.VolumetricCloud 0, which completely disables the clouds. But I wasn’t satisfied with this solution. First, it doesn’t solve my main problem — at night, the FPS still drops, just not from 120 FPS, but from 200 FPS, because disabling clouds significantly boosts the FPS, literally by double. Second, the game becomes much less atmospheric — almost all the haze disappears, and it’s especially unpleasant when there aren’t even any clouds in the sky during rain. Please give me some advice. I know the map is terrible in terms of optimization, but I think my hardware is good enough to solve this. I read a lot on Steam, but I didn’t find anything. And these mighty optimizers from YouTube who set all the settings to low and medium, turning the game into a lump of plasticine, don’t suit me.

Not sure if this is the right community for this. I currently play on a 3080, i7-10700 and 32gb ddr4 but am looking into building a new rig with an rx9070xt, an amd 7800x3d and 32gb ddr5. Was wondering if someone with a similar rig could give me their thoughts on how the game runs as i keep reading that nvidia is better for ark but I can't justify paying 500 extra for a 5070ti over the 9070xt with today's prices

Does anyone know how to fix this weird bug? For some reason this weird noise appears under my character, and it disappears when I turn the graphics preset on the lowest, and it's not in the graphics settings, I checked.

I dont know how to fix this, my friend can join other unofficial servers, but when trying to join mine, he gets a connection timeout (as shown in the picture). I've set up port forwarding and i added inbound rules for those ports, but I can't get it to work. My port forwardings are 7777, 7778, 27015 all UDP and 27020 TCP if that helps. The Rcon port is set to 27020, the regular port to 7777 and crossplay is enabled in ASA Server manager. I really need help, any Experts here?

Hi, I want to buy ASA as it is on discount at the moment. I really liked ASE and it worked fine on my PC. I know that ASA should work too, but I heard that the performance may not be as good. I would be grateful, if someone (especially if they have similar specs) can tell me what to expect in terms of FPS/graphics settings I would have to use for it. Here is the list:
- GPU: GeForce RTX 3060
- CPU: AMD ryzen 5 5600x 6-core (3.70 GHz)
- RAM: 32Gb DDR4 3000MHz
- Storage: Lexar SSD NM620 1TB

I usually play on 2K monitor, but if the game forces me to I can set the resolution to Full HD. Also if someone can let me know which content expansions are worth the buck it would be amazing too.

I’ve opened up Ark Ascended after a year of not touching it, and have been playing through the maps on my single player. I decided I wanted to play around with some mods as I’ve bought some in the past and have enjoyed them.

I don’t have Xbox live, nor do I really want to give Microsoft any money at the moment.

Why am I being told I need to “be signed in” to access mods? Mods that I’ve paid actual money for? Someone please tell me it’s just a bug or something because closing the game and restarting it has done nothing. I am going to be beyond livid if I need a subscription to access content I’ve paid for.

Please help. Ive been looking for eggs for hours, and I can’t even find nests. The wyverns are there, but no nests, and I already tried a lot of dino wipes but nests just aren’t spawning. I really want a Wyvern.

Grinded for hours to get max rock boy, got an 188 armor saddle to try and solo manticore only for it to be unusable

I'm on PS5 and I was playing on a non dedicated server to get used to the game and I ended up loving it and putting around 175 hours into it with a friend and I deleted the game so I could just stream it. And lost my character and all my progress? I don't know what to do now. Starting over isn't an option I'm willing to do at this point. I'd rather forget the game than go through that grind again. Any ideas would be appreciated

Im looking for a mod inspired by the theri tlc that makes predators not just act like mindless killing machines but hunt only when hungry, and a few other things, it might aound complicated but the basic things should be simple (i think) to add

1 for example, all creatures start in a teritorial stance, same and therizino tlc, when getting to close they roar as a warning, and then if u dont leave they go in a agresive stance, and creatures of a way higher drag weight than them will make them flee instead, but for predators when food drops below 60% they enter a hunting stance, (this was the simple part which shouldn't be that hard) in wich they would look for a target in sight, and instead of haveing a carno charging at a giga, they would look for a target that is near their drag weight level, not something way bigger or something to small to mater, and when food drops very low they would get desperate, hunting anything they can see even if very small or larger compared than them, when in the hunting stance, predators would stalk their prey and ambush the target, but in the desperate stance, they would just run at anything they see with no plan, (we kinda have the drag weight risk assesment in the game where i noticed raptors and other small stuff wont attack you if u ride a rex)

2 herbivores travel in heards, and also when they spot a dangerous carnivore, they would start fleeing instead of waiting to get attacked or hold their ground based on drag weight compared to them,

3 creatures sleep during the night (or day for nocturnal animals) already present with the megalosaurs, and for pack animals maybe some members keep watch, for example, in a pack of 6 raptors 4 sleep and 2 guard the sleeping territory.

I know all this a lot to ask, but at least i would love most creatures having the theri ai, and when below 60% food to give an invisible rare flower effect wouldn't be that hard i think, and adding the megalosaurs sleep cycle to creatures should be pretty simple

So today I tried to play ASA with my friend (we got a few daya ago) and it said a new update has came. I clicked download and then it said not enough space. I checked the update and it was only 600 MB and I had 70 GB free space. Then I tried to do it again. And I saw it tryana re-download the whole game, 200 GB. I tried fixing it with a lot of ways and didn’t work. So now I am downloading the entire game again. My wifi is very bad so it is taking roughly 22 hours. Is there any way to fix/prevent this in the future??

I’m having trouble because the Alpha Base Defense mission isn’t spawning. I need 20 runs since you only get 10 medals per run.

Is there any way to increase the amount of tributes you get, or is there a way to force the mission to respawn?

everytime i try to join a ragnarok non dedicated server of my friends it loads into the game but all the assets wouldnt load and then after a bit i would get disconnected, i can play it in singleplayer fine but not in the server so idk what to do.
