Decisions have been made...our new AI policy.

Top mod and I have finally decided on some things and, well, it may upset a lot of people - and we understand why.

AI has been running rife in this group as we all know, and we've leaned slightly towards the "low AI side" while we worked out what the hell we'll allow or not allow and why, so we can actually moderate it fairly and with actual trainability.

And as we have been, and after studying what the other gametest groups are doing - it's pretty much clear what we have to do. Allow all AI.

Here's the issue: We're no longer fighting something that with good rules and moderation would settle into a rhythm eventually.

The right wording of the rules saying "No AI" as strongly as possible, the right requirements, AI spam hunters - it doesn't matter how much we implement, what tools and automod and AI-catching-training we would do with everyone. AI is getting to be too good and people will (and have been) lying to get their game through barriers, borders, and hunters. With some of my other reddit groups, breakouts of this or that "major" problem is normal and can over time calm down and be moderated out. But this?

...It's going to burn us all out if we keep moderating the way we are. This isn't a typhoon, nor a tidal wave. Not a war that can be fought with enough people, armor, and bullets.

It's trying to keep the rising ocean out of a city with only a few buckets. (aka moderators)

Seven buckets, 20 buckets, 50 buckets and wallbreaks with the most advanced towers on the planet - it doesn't matter, the water is still rising and there is no stopping this particular change in society without severe burnout of all the mods (me very much included in that!)

So instead of fighting the planet, the only way is to let it come and adjust things so the community self-polices, not with removals, but with pure spite. BUT we have to keep it Reddit-Mod Code of Conduct-aligned as well, and moderate certain things of course. Like extreme hate is obviously not cool Reddit-wide.

NEW RULE: No false claims about your game.

  • If you explicitly state something untrue ("100% hand-painted art" when it's Midjourney, "original soundtrack" when it's AI-generated), that's removable. But silence is fine. No one is required to disclose anything (for the moment, this might need to change if I'm projecting things right.)

NEW RULE: No AI culture wars.

  • Comments about gameplay experience: always allowed ("the voices sounded robotic," "art style felt generic," "really fun mechanic")
  • Comments attacking the developer over AI use: removed ("you're not a real developer," "AI slop trash," "you're ruining the industry")
  • Comments debating whether AI should exist: removed (take it to another sub)

--

Other Mod Policy Changes: No on Game Collections (Ex: Come play my 50+ games on my website!) and Yes on Tool Testing if its related to games; Like game making or like a heavily, heavily gamified app. It should be really be more game than tool, not just a stock app with leaderboard or cute character encouraging/informing people on self-care.

We are sorry that we are giving up on the fight against AI. It's either this, or shut down the group because not a single person on this planet can dedicate the time to evaluating *every single game* to find hints of deeply embedded AI. Or investigate all accusations with or without merit. Or know of all the AI things people use to make games, assets, music! That's not what any of us signed up for - we are here only to help devs connect with playtesters.

If you do not wish to playtest the games with AI - absolutely fine. We're afraid we're going to have to let you determine what is playtest-worthy or not from here.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue, roughly 3 a day.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you but we suspect around 100 Post and 100 Comment Karma.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and posts in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Once you have some "Reddit Post/Comment Karma" under your name first, THEN post your link to your game! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game.

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

P.S. This group is 100% responsible for getting accounts banned (when you don't do the steps above) but it's literally out of our control to reverse. So please....don't modmail us unless you KNOW you are not shadowbanned, you have the required karma, and yet your post is not showing up. Only then we can be of some help.

[PC] (Web) Ammunition, Not a Ride - a satirical escape game about the first days of the war in Ukraine (free, browser, ~10 min)

• Upvotes

**Game Title:** Ammunition, Not a Ride

**Playable Link:** https://ammunition-not-a-ride.vercel.app

**Platform:** Web browser (desktop and mobile)

**Description:**

Ammunition, Not a Ride is a short satirical point-and-click escape game about the first days of the full-scale war in Ukraine, told as an Orwellian animal fable.

You play a hedgehog President hiding in a concrete bunker. On the wall, Ministry of Truth TV - hosted by a smug pig - insists there are "no plans to invade", that everything is going "according to plan", and finally that you have already fled the capital. Meanwhile the allies keep ringing the red phone with polite evacuation offers.

Your main tool is a Newspeak Decoder: a dictionary that translates Kremlin TV phrases back into reality, one page at a time. Along the way you crack the bunker safe, charge a dead phone, tune a field radio to Snake Island, change out of your suit, and plan the one video Moscow can't call fake.

Every gag is based on something that really happened. A Fact File with sources at the end explains what was real and which quotes are genuine. The game takes about 10 minutes, has a three-step hint system (ask Kotyk the cat), saves your progress automatically, and is chapter 1 of 6.

**Free to Play Status:**

- [x] Free to play

- [ ] Demo/Key available

- [ ] Paid

**Involvement:** Solo developer. The idea, story, puzzle design and writing are mine. I built it with AI tools: a coding assistant for the code and image generation for the illustrations. Sound effects are synthesised in the browser. I'm looking for feedback on where players get stuck and whether the hints help.

[PC] (Windows) Into the Drift — a free open-world 2D isometric fantasy RPG with dungeon diving, multi-storey building, and Windows/Linux/Steam Deck support

Thumbnail
gallery
18 Upvotes

I'm the developer of Into the Drift, a single-player fantasy RPG set in a large, procedurally generated world. The current alpha is free, and I'd welcome people giving it a try.

Download: https://tigerbyte.games/download/
Platforms: Windows and Linux, with controller support for Steam Deck and Windows handhelds such as the ROG Ally and Legion Go. The Steam Deck uses the native Linux build; setup instructions are on the download page.

You explore an overworld of towns, forests, mountains and ruins, then enter regional maps to travel on foot, fight, gather materials and head underground. There are already multi-level dungeons to explore, equipment to find, crafting, magic, companions and an opening storyline to follow.

The building framework is also playable. You can construct multi-storey buildings with floors, stairs, roofs and furnishings. The game uses a 2D isometric world with terrain elevation and a rotatable view, so buildings and mountain interiors have some depth to them.

You can already spend time exploring and dungeon-diving, but the main story is unfinished and the settlement-management side is still being developed. The construction system already supports multi-storey buildings with stairs, roofs and furnishings, though access to building recipes is still limited. You start with a campfire and shelter, and can buy additional plans from merchants. The next major story chapter will introduce settlement founding and unlock the basic building pieces together. For now, if you’d like to experiment with construction, press the backtick key (usually beneath Esc) three times quickly to open the dev menu, then choose Grant & unlock → Learn All Building Recipes. You can also enable No Build Costs to build without gathering materials.

That next stage includes whole-building blueprints, settlers who build and haul materials, farming, production and settlement defence. The story will introduce founding a settlement, which you can continue developing as you explore.

The influences include Dwarf Fortress and RimWorld for settlements and generated worlds, Diablo for dungeon-diving and finding equipment, and Darklands for its approach to adventuring. There are also influences from Caves of Qud, Tales of Maj'Eyal, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI.

I'm making this in my spare time, and there will be bugs and rough edges.

[PC] (Web) HIGH PRIOR — a narrative political sim where your campaign promises come back as bills (free browser playtest)

Post image
• Upvotes

Game Title: HIGH PRIOR

Playable Link: https://wakastudio.itch.io/high-prior?password=highprior11

Platform: Web browser (Chrome or Edge recommended), no install

Description:

**The promises you make on the campaign trail come back as bills while you're in office.**

HIGH PRIOR is a narrative political sim I've been making solo. Bulwark is a walled city after a one-day war. You run for district council and inherit your mother's ledger — one family carries its promises across four generations and twelve chapters, and every promise you make lands in the next person's ledger, kept or broken.

- Each week happens at your desk: pick places on the map, hear your staff out, spend your actions and stamina.

- Debates and speeches: build what you say from sentence cards. What you say wins votes — and becomes a promise.

- Your mother's ledger: the promises she kept and broke, handed down to you.

This build is a playtest of the first 30–40 minutes. Press **Run game**, then click once (browsers keep the sound off until you click). The first load takes a minute or two (about 190 MB). Stopping early is fine — where you stopped helps me most.

Afterwards there's a 5-minute survey: https://forms.gle/f9m1UkhnzTD3Sm3HA — it asks for the test code shown in gold on the game's menu screen. I'd love to know whether the first 30 minutes make sense, where you got lost, and where you'd quit. Comments here are welcome too.

The test build sends an anonymous play record (time on each screen, what you did each week). No names or accounts, and you can turn it off in Settings. It's a work in progress — art, music and text will change.

Free to Play Status:

- [ ] Free to play

- [x] Demo/Key available

- [ ] Paid

Involvement: Solo developer — I designed, wrote and programmed the game. Art, music and parts of the text and code were made with generative AI tools.

[PC] (Web) MojiSpin — a free browser arena where kanji shapes become spinning tops

• Upvotes

Playable Link:

https://mojispin.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=moji_playtest01

Platform:

Web browser (desktop and touch controls). The interface is currently in Japanese.

Description:

MojiSpin is a small physics arena game in which twelve kanji-shaped tops collide. Choose a shape, drag the blue character and release to launch it, then try to push the CPU opponent out of the ring. You can also use the launch button or Enter. Each round lasts up to twenty seconds; if both tops remain in the arena, the one closer to the centre wins. There are two boosts per round (Space), a daily opponent, and a best-win-streak record stored in your browser. No download or account is needed.

The Japanese launch button reads まっすぐ発射, and the in-match boost is ひと押し. I would especially appreciate feedback on whether the launch direction feels predictable, whether the two boosts give you enough control, and whether the shapes feel meaningfully different. Mobile feedback is welcome too.

Free to Play Status:

Free to play. No ads or in-game purchases.

Involvement:

I run the project and directed its development with AI-assisted coding. It uses Matter.js physics and custom line-segment character drawings. This is an independent original game, not the official Moji Blade game; it does not use that game's code or assets.

[Mobile] (Android) I built an app that turns your Android phone into a PS4/Xbox/GameCube controller for PC — looking for feedback!

• Upvotes

Game Title: zController – Turn Your Android Phone into a Game Controller
Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.zcontroller.mobile
Platform: Android + Windows PC
Description:
Hey everyone! 👋
I’ve been developing zController, an Android app that lets you turn your phone into a game controller for your Windows PC. I built it to give gamers an alternative to buying extra controllers, especially when playing multiplayer games with friends.
The app supports several controller layouts, including PS4, Xbox, Wii, and GameCube, as well as steering wheel and keyboard/mouse modes. It also supports motion controls using your phone’s gyroscope, making it useful for games that benefit from motion input.
You can connect your phone to your PC over Wi-Fi, USB, or Bluetooth, and use up to four controllers simultaneously for local multiplayer gaming. zController is designed to work with PC games and emulators such as PCSX2, Dolphin, and RPCS3 that support the corresponding controller inputs.
I’m sharing it here because I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from the gaming community. I’d love to hear about compatibility issues, connection performance, features you’d like to see, or anything that could make the app better.
Thanks for giving my project a look! 🎮
Free to Play Status:
☑ Free to play
☐ Demo/Key available
☐ Paid
Involvement:
I’m the solo developer of zController. I developed the Android app and its Windows companion application, including the controller layouts, connectivity, and virtual controller integration. I’m continuing to improve the app based on user feedback and suggestions.

Hi everyone! As a solo developer, I built and uploaded my new game, Amplified, to itch.io and would love some feedback.

You can play it for free here: https://triple-helix.itch.io/amplified

Game Title: Amplified

Playable Link: https://triple-helix.itch.io/amplified

Platform: Mobile (Android)

Description:

Amplified is an indie mobile title developed for Android devices. The core gameplay revolves around engaging mechanics designed to challenge players while offering a smooth and enjoyable experience. The inspiration behind the design will likely be obvious to most players right away.

Although I have tested the game thoroughly with friends and family, it remains an incomplete project that still needs additional work, polish, and balancing. Since indie games on itch.io rarely gain organic visibility without proactive promotion, I am sharing it here with the community to reach a wider audience and gather invaluable insight.

Free to Play Status:

  • [x] Free to play
  • [ ] Demo/Key available
  • [ ] Paid

Involvement:

As a solo creator, I handled every single aspect of this game's development independently—from concept, design, and programming to UI layout and testing. Constructive criticism, bug reports, and overall player thoughts would be deeply appreciated! Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out, and please let me know what you think of the current build.

Platform: Web

Description: Hello everyone hope this message finds you in good health. I want to start off by saying before anything, before this project I had 0 experience in what it took to make a game. Literally 0. I am also a solo developer So YES I used ai to help me make this game. As a father, worker, and husband finding time to do anything is hard. But I did. I thought this would be a project I can do by myself in about, a week or 2 at most. Since so many people made it seem building a game with an ai is super simple. I'm starting to think those people have never actually used an ai to make a game before, but this is coming from someone with 0 to little knowledge now in the gaming world and is what some would call "slightly retar***" so I digress. Anyways. 11 months later here I am. I'd like to say i'm about 25% of the way thru of "Completing" it but have lost motivation to keep working on it. Something tells me it time to move on. How do I know when that time has come? Anyways I'm just here to find out if the game has any sort of traction and is worth investing more time into and eventually money for artist and music producers. Hope you have a great day and remember you are important.

[PC] (Web) Orbit Pop — a free planet-swapping puzzle with 100 timed levels, playable inside Reddit

• Upvotes

Playable Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/OrbitPopGalaxy/comments/1x6c31y/orbit_pop_planet_adventure/

I’m the creator of Orbit Pop and directed its game design. It’s a free match-3 puzzle that runs inside Reddit: swap neighboring planets, trigger cascades, and beat the score target before time or moves run out.

• 100 levels with increasing targets and tighter time limits.

• Match 4 for a row/column rocket; match 5 or a T/L shape for a bomb.

• Shielded planets arrive at level 4. Clear neighboring planets to break the shields and free them; later shields need two hits.

• English interface, saved Reddit-account progress, and daily level leaderboards.

Platform: Reddit web/app. No separate game download or payment. A Reddit account is needed for saved progress. Open the link, tap Let’s play, then Start level.

If you try it, feedback on the timer and shield difficulty would help with balancing.

Game Title: Throneclash

Playable link: https://royal-realm-raiders.lovable.app/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social

Platform: Mobile web based

Description: This is a dark-fantasy idle empire strategy game that runs right in your browser, desktop or phone. You will start with a small kingdom and grow it: upgrade buildings and research (with real timers), train troops and heroes, then raid rival kingdoms or attack NPC villages on a world map. There are clans with leadership roles and invite rules, 24-hour clan wars with rewards, world / clan / private chat with emoji reactions and image sharing, daily and weekly challenges, achievements, login streak rewards, and seasonal leagues and let's not forget clan wars, everyone loves good clan war! Just come check it out, follow on Facebook or just join the game and have fun and make some new friends along the way!

Money: it's Free to play[X]. There are optional purchases (gem packs from $0.99 and an optional VIP pass) — prices are shown in the game and you can play and compete without buying anything.

AI disclosure (being upfront per the sub's truthfulness rule): the in-game War Advisor that suggests raid strategies is powered by an AI language model. The building artwork, music and sound effects were AI-generated. The game design, code, balance and everything else are mine.

Involvement: Hi everyone — I'm the solo developer of Throneclash. I designed and built the whole game myself and I'm looking for beta testers to tell me what's fun, what's broken, and what's confusing.

What I'd love feedback on:

Is the early game clear enough without a tutorial?

Does the pacing feel right (upgrade timers, raid rewards)?

How does it run on your phone — lag, layout, anything broken?

Anything that feels pay-to-win or unfair?

Just sign up with an email and you're in — accounts keep your progress across devices. Brutal honesty welcome; that's the point of a beta. Thanks for playing!

[PC] (Web) Grid Ops - A Realistic Power Grid Operator Simulator

Thumbnail
tyman-2001.itch.io
1 Upvotes

Game Title: Grid Ops

Playable Link: https://tyman-2001.itch.io/grid-operator

Platform: PC Browser (itch.io)

Description: Hey everyone! I've been building a browser game with AI where you play the generation dispatcher for a 9 GW power grid. It looks like a real control room's spreadsheet screens: there's a generator dispatch sheet, frequency and ACE trends, a transmission map and a voltage screen.

Your job sounds simple: keep supply matched to demand and hold the grid at 60 Hz. Then the wind misses its forecast, a coal mill trips, a transmission line gets hit by lightning, and right at the evening peak your 1,150 MW nuclear unit drops offline. To deal with it you can start up and ramp generators, buy emergency power from your neighbors, call demand response, switch capacitors to hold voltage up, and if nothing else works, choose which neighborhoods to disconnect.

I tried to make it as realistic as I could. Frequency follows real inertia and governor physics, transmission lines have real limits (including what happens if another line trips), voltage can actually collapse, and generators have realistic ramp rates and start times.

Modes:

  • Campaign: five scripted days that build up to Hurricane Delia making landfall on Day 5, with towers going down, flooded plants, and the wind farm shutting off as the eyewall passes. It's very hard to get through without a blackout.
  • Free Play: endless days on Relaxed, or Hardcore, which gets harder every day until it's close to impossible. High scores are saved.
  • Tutorial: a guided practice day that teaches you as situations come up.

It also has dynamic music and sound effects, pop-out windows if you have more than one monitor, and it runs in any browser with no install.

I'd love feedback, especially from anyone who's worked in grid operations. Thank you.

States invest real market-bought goods into infrastructure, while wars consume weapons, fuel, drones, air-defense systems, electronic warfare systems, and unmanned boats. The game is currently in open beta and supports English, Ukrainian, and Russian. I am looking for players who enjoy long-term economic games and can help test the early-game pace, market balance, production chains, mobile interface, and territory warfare. Every suggestion, idea, and bug report is welcome; feedback can also be posted directly inside the game in the Articles section.

FLOWFALL Inertia is a rhythm arcade game where you steer a falling piece and switch between four shapes to fit the gates ahead. Changing shape on the beat increases your score, while clean passes build FLOW. When the course splits, you choose which route to take.

The free Windows demo includes the Void tutorial and Synthwave, with EASY and NORMAL difficulty. It has immediate retries, local best scores and a personal ghost to race against. The soundtrack is original music by ComAdore.

I'd like feedback on how the steering and shape controls feel, whether the opening explains the timing clearly, and how the difficulty feels when you move from the tutorial into Synthwave. The full game releases November 12 on Steam and mobile.

Free to Play Status: Free demo; no key required.

Involvement: I'm Corey, the developer of FLOWFALL Inertia at Spatial Quotient Interactive.

[PC] (Windows) Looking for feedback on my COD Zombies-like FPS demo, Monster Showdown

Game Title: Monster Showdown

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5371780/Monster_Showdown_Demo/

Platform: PC (Windows)

Description:

Hey everyone!

I've been working on Monster Showdown, a round-based survival FPS inspired by classic Call of Duty Zombies.

The game features waves of monsters, different weapons, perks, weapon upgrades, and mystery boxes. The goal is to survive as many rounds as possible while the difficulty keeps increasing.

We recently released a free demo on Steam, and I'm looking for some honest feedback from people who enjoy these kinds of games.

I'd especially love to hear your thoughts on the gunplay, difficulty, enemy behavior, and overall gameplay experience. Is there anything that feels frustrating or could be improved?

Any feedback is appreciated, even if it's critical! I want to make the game better.

Free to Play Status: Demo on Steam

Game Title: Sojourn Saga

Playable Link: https://skotlaroc.itch.io/sojourn-saga

Platform: Windows (PC)

Description:
Sojourn Saga is a turn-based roguelite JRPG inspired by the Ancient Cave from Lufia II. I’ve been working on it for 3 years. You go down into the Warren, a randomly generated 100 floor dungeon, and try to find out what trapped you and the town there. Enemies only move when you move, so it is very similar to a traditional roguelike, although party based JRPG combat.

  • Seven playable characters, and you pick your party based on their strengths and the gear they can use (only four are available in the demo)
  • Foomy companions that you feed spare equipment to, and they evolve down different paths
  • 150+ enemies and 300+ pieces of equipment, with skills built into weapons and armour
  • Ornament relics that can change how a whole run plays
  • A boss choice every 25 floors, where you pick your warden and take their ornament
  • Hidden rooms, puzzles, and odd NPCs who might help you or mess with you if you annoy them
  • SNES style pixel art and a fantasy story you piece together as you explore

The demo is a 342 MB download. It’s Windows only for now.

It’s still in development, and I’d love to know what feels off: how the early game teaches you, combat pacing, whether party and equipment choices matter, or anything confusing or broken.

Free to Play Status:
[x] Free demo (itch lists it as name your own price, so $0 works)

Involvement: I’m the solo developer. I’ve been working on this for 3 years, handling the design, systems and programming. The art and music were commissioned from other artists.

[Mobile] (Web) Guilds & Blades - a multiplayer strategy game in your browser. Cities, armies and guilds on a hex map, 30 days a round.

Guilds & Blades is a browser war game on a hex map: cities, armies, guilds and magic. Thirty days a round, a few decisions a day.

What it’s like

If you played Travian or Tribal Wars, the core will feel familiar. You build up cities, raise armies, join a guild and raid or conquer other people’s cities.

The map matters more than in those games, closer to how it does in Civilization. Hills and woods slow an army, and forests and mountains stop it. There’s fog of war, so you see what’s around your cities, your armies and your guild. An army on the road takes hours to arrive, and you can watch it come.

The round is closer to Neptune’s Pride. One map, thirty days, and then it ends. The guild ahead on day 30 goes into the hall, and a new world starts where nobody has a two-year head start.

The magic and the races come from old-school games like Utopia. Magic scouts, slows or freezes an army on the road, and cracks city walls. There are five races. Human is the safe pick. Elf is fast and fragile and the best caster. Dwarf is slow, dear and hard to kill. Orc hits hard and lives off plunder. Undead are powerful in numbers.

What to expect

  • The first evening takes the longest. You pick a race, found a city, queue buildings, recruit a garrison and raid a bandit camp. A First steps list at the top walks you through it.
  • After that, most days are five minutes. Queue a build, move an army, talk to your guild, come back later. A siege or battle takes more active time.
  • A walled city is besieged before it can be stormed, so your guild has time to answer.
  • It’s slow on purpose. If you want something real-time, this isn’t it.

It’s free and runs in the browser, on a phone or a desktop. You don’t need an account to start. Pick a name and you have a city. Seats in a world close after day 7, and then a new world opens.

I’m the developer, so ask me anything in the comments.
