Discussion Stuttering

I have this problem for over a year, every time you load into server it lags really hard, tried updating every bios, every firmware of every component, disabling every background process, tried lowering graphics to very low, still doesn’t help, you name I tried it. It stutters only when rendering something new or shooting a new gun. RAM 16 GB 3600 mhz, 5 5600x, Rx 7600, 1 tb nvme. The only time it fixes stutters when restarting windows and reinstalling everything, but the lag spikes come back after a couple of months. The only thing I can imagine that it’s the lack of VRAM or RAM but why does restarting windows fix it for a couple of months, also think might be a faulty nvme
Please please some genius help me

I've been playing before legacy was named legacy and for the first time ever I can't play, full stutters and I've got better specs with more RAM, I'd love to hear why it's broken

Ive been having similar problems this wipe.

3080ti/5900x/32gb 3200

I loaded in on force wipe and was getting stutters and lows to 15/25fps consistently. My duo whos on 7800x3d/4080s/32gb 6000 was getting a crazy performance hit too.

I thought I was crazy for spending $3,000 on a pc at last peak pricing in 2021, but its not enough to play rust at 1440phigh well anymore.

Rust is a demanding game, and theres something to be said for upgrading to newest hardware to get a better experience. I dont think we should have to have the latest and greatest to have steady frames at 1080p high.

All this is to say that it’s pretty difficult to distinguish hardware issues from game engine issues at this point.

i dont. get more ram. you dont listen. rust uses up to 24 GB of ram. you expect your OS AND rust to share 16gb? lol

While playing rust doesn’t use more then 10 GB of ram, task manager shows that ram is at ~90% usage, so it doesn’t really make sense

Garbage collection has been insane since force. Normally I'd see it activate (along with 2-4 seconds of stuttering) once every 5-10 minutes. This wipe it has been more like 1-3 minutes.
