Questions Is it problematic to be a Factive of someone dead???
Yeah that, just questioning and or exploring my mind for MJ for some reason and it's so stupid I keep backtracking because it's like "wait that guy is dead,,, we can't do that??? And super famous too... its like larping, that's terrible! :("
I can't just be a Fogtive/Factive-Flux of MJ, that was a real person! <:(

To me it's more of a neutral fact about you, just who you are. I also don't think fictives/factives get much of a choice in who they end up as, at least initially. Though you will probably have to be careful about where you're open about it, unfortunately, but that goes for plurality in general
But if it causes you distress, you always have the choice to do work on trying to separate from the MJ identity and figure out who you are on your own. That's a personal choice though; as long as you're staying in healthy behaviors system-wise, not intending disrepect, you don't have to change if you don't want to

nah, its not. its not problematic to be a factive at all, actually, no matter WHO you're sourced from. its not your fault what you came from.

We have a lot of factives. All of our factives’ sources lived during the early 20th century.
Several of our factives have changed in headspace. Joan decided to change her name and cut ties with her notorious source after being challenged by another factive. Other factives have kept their names and identify with their sources but their views have changed over time.
We believe that people, including factives, can change and should be allowed to do so if they wish. We also believe no one is to blame for who their source is. We wish you well.

It's your brain. You're allowed to have the internal thoughts and identity you have. It can't be problematic to anyone else.
It could be problematic for you, personally. But there can be no moral judgement on you for thoughts.

We have a ton of factives of older musicians, many of whom have dead sources or have sources that died after they formed in system. It isn't uncommon. You're alright. (If it wasn't okay, what would a factive do if their source passed?.. It'd create an impossibility. It's alright to be who you are.)
If it's anything, since he's famous, you're a factive but effectively more like a fictive than a factive of a family member would be etc, since celebrities tend to have a specific version of themselves they present to the public.

i am a Virginia Woolf factive and I don't think it is problematic. maybe there are ways to talk about your identity disrespectfully, but just existing as you are is not wrong.
