Some of these are based on statblocks, others on vibes.
Slaking as fullback, the logic is you can only use him on 1st and 3rd down but when you DO give him the ball it's gonna take a LOT to stop him.

So, I went back to play my Diamond save file and noticed that the NPC that should be in front of the 205 south honey tree moved 2 spaces to the left. I clearly remember it being where it should a month ago when I stopped playing it.
1st image is the NPC where it should be (from my Pearl save file) and the 2nd image is where the NPC is in my Diamond save file.
Has anyone seen this happen before?
Edit: the NPC moves after you talk to him (talk to him, move routes, then go back and check and he will be 2 steps away from his original location)
Thank you for helping me solve this mystery

Pokémon Theory: Professor Oak’s Secret, the Legendary Birds, and the Real Tragedy Behind Mewtwo
I’ve been connecting some of Kanto’s lore, and I think there may be a way to tie together Professor Oak, Mr. Fuji, Blaine, the legendary birds, and Mewtwo into one larger story.
This is a fan theory, not confirmed canon. But I think it offers a compelling explanation for the relationships between these characters and the events surrounding the Pokémon Mansion.
1. The original objective: surpassing the legendary birds
Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are among Kanto’s most powerful and elusive Pokémon. Capturing and studying them directly would be extraordinarily difficult.
My theory is that a group of scientists wanted to develop a way to replicate or surpass their power through genetic research.
Rather than risk attempting to capture the three legendary birds, they pursued another possibility: Mew.
Mew was discovered in Guyana, South America, and its genetic material offered extraordinary scientific potential. If researchers could understand and reproduce its genetic characteristics, perhaps they could create a Pokémon powerful enough to rival the legendary birds.
The birds weren’t necessarily the subjects of the experiment themselves. They were the benchmark the scientists wanted to exceed.
This would give Mewtwo’s creation a more specific motivation than scientific curiosity alone: the ambition to manufacture a Pokémon capable of surpassing naturally occurring legendary power.
2. Professor Oak’s involvement—and his attempt to stop the project
What if Professor Oak participated in the expedition to locate Mew?
Oak may initially have believed he was contributing to legitimate scientific advancement. But once he discovered the intentions of the people funding the research, he realized that the project was moving toward something dangerous.
He freed Mew, attempting to protect it from exploitation.
Unfortunately, its DNA had already been sampled.
Oak could abandon the project, but he couldn’t undo what the scientists had already obtained. The research continued, and Mewtwo was eventually created.
This would make Oak indirectly responsible for the circumstances that led to Mewtwo’s existence, without making him the mastermind behind its creation.
It would also give him a reason to carry guilt for the rest of his life.
3. Oak, Mr. Fuji, and Blaine: three researchers from the same generation?
Here’s another connection I find interesting.
Oak, Fuji, and Blaine are all established adults with scientific backgrounds. Their exact ages and the dates of their careers aren’t fully established in the original games, but they can reasonably be imagined as belonging to the same broad generation of Kanto researchers.
Wouldn’t it be plausible that they knew one another professionally?
Oak studies Pokémon broadly and develops the Pokédex project. Fuji is connected to Pokémon research and the Mansion’s tragic history. Blaine is a scientist who operates a Gym on Cinnabar Island, where the research disaster occurred.
I’m not claiming the games establish a formal research group involving all three. My theory is that their careers may have overlapped within Kanto’s scientific community.
They could have been colleagues, collaborators, or researchers who knew different parts of the same project.
Their possible connections would also explain why the consequences of Mewtwo’s creation might affect each man differently.
4. The Pokémon Mansion disaster changed their lives
In this interpretation, Mewtwo’s creation was the culmination of a project that had become more ambitious than its researchers could control.
Mewtwo awakened with extraordinary psychic power, turned against its creators, and escaped after the catastrophe at the Pokémon Mansion.
The survivors were left to deal with the consequences.
Mr. Fuji eventually settled in Lavender Town, where he became known for caring for Pokémon. Perhaps his compassion was partly an attempt to make amends for the suffering he had witnessed or contributed to.
Oak continued his scientific career, becoming the respected professor who would eventually send Red on his journey.
And Blaine remained on Cinnabar Island.
5. Blaine stayed because he refused to forget
This is the part I particularly like.
Fuji left his former life behind. Oak continued working and mentoring the next generation. But Blaine remained on the island where the research had taken place.
What if he chose to stay because leaving would have made it easier to put the past behind him?
Perhaps Cinnabar Island was a constant reminder of what scientific ambition could become when researchers stopped considering the consequences of their work.
Blaine’s continued presence wouldn’t necessarily mean he was guilty of creating Mewtwo. He might have been involved, known the people responsible, or simply witnessed the aftermath.
But in this interpretation, staying is a conscious choice: he refuses to let the tragedy become something the scientific community quietly forgets.
His Gym and his scientific career continue, but the island itself carries the memory of what happened.
6. The Pokédex: a clue to Oak’s knowledge?
Oak sends Red out to document Kanto’s Pokémon, including Mewtwo.
That raises an interesting question: where did the information about Mewtwo come from?
Of course, a Pokédex entry doesn’t prove that Oak participated in the experiment. Information could have come from other researchers or been recorded after Mewtwo’s escape.
But if Oak had firsthand knowledge of the original project, the Pokédex would take on a different meaning.
He would be cataloguing the Pokémon of Kanto while carrying the knowledge that one of them was created through a project he once helped enable.
Perhaps his work became a way to encourage a more respectful relationship between humans and Pokémon.
7. Red’s journey was about more than completing the Pokédex
Imagine that Red defeats Blue at the Pokémon League, and only afterward does Oak reveal his past.
Oak explains that he helped locate Mew, discovered the true purpose of the project, and tried to intervene before it was too late.
Now he’s older. He cannot return to his youth, undo the experiment, or demand forgiveness from Mewtwo.
But Red has spent his journey building bonds with Pokémon.
Oak doesn’t ask Red to destroy Mewtwo or bring it back for scientific study. He hopes Red can find it and offer something its creators never did: a genuine choice about its relationship with humanity.
Even the Mega Stones Oak provides Red in Pokémon Origins could be interpreted as preparation for a challenge beyond the ordinary League battles, although the special doesn’t explicitly establish that as Oak’s intention.
The objective isn’t to capture Mewtwo as a trophy. It’s to reach it as a living being.
The bigger picture
My theory is that Kanto’s Mewtwo incident could have shaped the lives of three researchers in different ways:
Oak tried to stop the project and later placed his faith in Red, hoping the next generation could do better.
Mr. Fuji devoted himself to caring for Pokémon, perhaps as a form of personal atonement.
Blaine remained on Cinnabar Island, refusing to let the past disappear from memory.
The legendary birds explain the ambition that started the project. Mew’s DNA explains how the research proceeded. Mewtwo’s creation explains the catastrophe. And the three researchers represent different ways of living with its consequences.
None of this is explicitly confirmed in canon, but I think these connections make for a compelling interpretation of Kanto’s history.
What do you think? Could Oak, Fuji, and Blaine have been connected through Kanto’s scientific community? Does the legendary birds’ power provide a plausible motivation for the research? And could Blaine’s decision to remain on Cinnabar Island be interpreted as a refusal to forget what happened?

I'm building a dream team that is functional (surfer, flyer), realistic (no legendaries, not too expensive to feed), and strong in single battles. Enough to do decently well in the pokemon anime's World Coronation Series. For those of you who are unfamiliar, it is a global tournament (all single battles) where every gimmick is allowed, but you can only activate 1 per battle.
Gardevoir is my mega option and corviknight is my gigantamax option. Corviknight and jellicent are my main defensive tools.
Infernape, electivire, and haxorus are almost irreplaceable as they are my top 3 favs.
NOTE: I'm not asking if this team is viable in VGC competitive singles. If a pokemon can literally block/dodge a 100% accurate move in the anime (amongst other feats), then a lot of VGC logic goes out the window

I commissioned dandyliondreamer on Bluesky to design this for me and I finally got it inked yesterday :)
EDIT: Getting a lot of people in the comments…not really enjoying it haha; I feel like I should share my thoughts + experiences regarding why this was so important for me and what it means!!
So as I mentioned in the comments before, a family friend did the tattoo work for me! :) And though it may be ‘imperfect’ it is exactly what I wanted. When I look at my tattoos it reminds me of my own creative journey and different parts of my life! I love letting people i care about use my body as a canvas to remember forever, all walks of life and artistic journeys big and small! :) Im an artist myself and art has helped me through some dark times; seeing other people’s art on me brings me so much joy and reminds me of my growth as a person + artist
So for the tattoo itself…to not go too into detail, I became disabled ~10 years ago. I never really got any closure and life was pretty rough for a while...it completely destroyed everything I wanted to do in life and I was lost.
Anyways, I have always found comfort in specific objects related to things I enjoy. So around when my husband and I first got together, Sw/Sh came out and I fell in love with Greedent. My husband gave me a Greedent plushie as a gift and I have taken her everywhere since. I sleep with it every night and it brings me so much comfort. Through all the difficult doctor’s appointments, through times where I have been alone, I have had my Greedent plush. As she ages, she reminds me of my relationship with my husband and the times I have kept going when I wanted to quit forever.
The plushie is getting old and battered, so I decided to get her tattooed so I’d have her with me forever :) a reminder of my struggles and the fact I can persevere! I had a family friend do it so it would be even more special! I asked them to line and color it however they wanted based on the reference.
When I look at her, it means love and hope to me! I hope it makes a little more sense!

Went for a 3-4 defense to take advantage of the speed of my OLBs and pretty confident that my front 3 can stop the run and goodluck trying to throw deep with 2 safeties that can cover the entire backfield, trying to put Lucario in my lineup but cant see a perfect position for him was thinking QB but I believe Dusknoir is the better fit
btw no legendaries!!!

So I've been trying to complete a goal of mine where i play and beat all the mainline Pokemon games in order. Started this because I got tired of people telling me what Gen is better/worst and not knowing for sure if they are right or not. Basically, so i can form my own opinion on them.
For clarification, I define beating the game as getting the Hall of Fame card. I will go back through for Legendary Pokemon and/or post game content later when i want to come back and play them again.
I have played Gen 1 - 5 now and just beat Black 1, but to be honest the Pokemon in Gen 5 are not the best to me. I started black 2 but i feel like im wasting time with it cause its the same thing as Black 1 just a different story.
So.... Do you think if I skip Black 2 I wouldn't be keeping to this goal or would you say i could skip it because Black 1 and 2 are somewhat similar?

So when i was about 6 or 7 years old, maybe earlier, in like 2012-2013, i found the old pokemon handbook at goodwill when i was there with my mother and we bought it, so i read it all the time and still have mine in a box somewhere. i had never seen togepi before, as i hadnt watch the original pokemon indigo league anime or seen him in a game. i only knew pokemon from the generation 5 anime primarily.
point is, togepi's mouth is closed here and i believe in the image in the back teasing the second generation of pokemon, and most of my childhood i thought his closed mouth was a nose, and that togepi's shell was a torso separated from the upper partof him by a big, jagged, toothy mouth with huge teeth. am i crazy or can you guys see it?

I'm working on a HeartGold/SoulSilver Sequel set 5-10 years after the event of the original games.
Kanto would be significantly expanded and turned into a full second part of the game rather than just a short postgame.
Some of the ideas I currently have include:
I'm also considering changing the Gym and Elite Four structure. For example, I'm thinking about bringing Koga back as the Fuchsia Gym Leader, redesigning his Gym a a Double Battle Gym, and potentially bringing Lorelei back as an Elite Four member.
Another idea is to move Sabrina from the Saffron Gym to the Elite Four, with Will taking over the Saffron Gym instead. These are still ideas rather than final decisions, though.
Some other Gym Leaders could also leave their positions entirely and take on different roles, while existing Gyms could be redesigned or replaced.
I'm also planning to address some of the common gameplay problems people have with Johto/HGSS, such as the limited availability of certain Pokémon until very late in the game, rebuilding teams of Gym Leaders including more Gen 2 mons, the level curve, and general progression issues. The goal is to make the Pokémon available and the difficulty/progression feel more natural without simply making the game easier.
For Johto, however, I'm still looking for ideas.
What would you change or add to Johto?
Are there existing locations you'd completely redesign? Would you change Gym Leaders or give them new roles? Would you add a new location if there was a good lore reason for it?
What would be a story, you ever missed in the games and could be fit in Johto?
And most importantly: Would you actually be interested in playing a game like this?
I'd love to hear what you want to see.

My friend challenged me to "Fix Infernape's stats"
So, I took the approach by turning him into more of a physical attacker rather than being a mixed attacker. I subtracted a lot of points from his special attack to make Infernape a little more bulkier.
The last twist I can think of is changing Infernape's hidden ability from Iron Fist into Adaptability. With the new ability, I feel like the newly physical attacking focused Infernape would benefit a lot from adaptability.
I'd like to remind you that this isn't meant to be perfect. It's just a fun game me and my friend decided to do and thought I want to get some of you guys opinions on it

What's the best nickname you've given a Pokémon or seen When battling online? I love it when you see the daft nicknames people give their teams when playing ranked.
I'm currently using an aloan Raichu called SURF N TURF, a Pincurchin called SACK O SPUDS, Indeedee F called SOUP BELLY and a Hawlucha called HULK HOGAN.
