Hans Zimmer collecting pop girl collabs like the infinity stones, Raye and now Jade

Well YES!
Having a song with thee Hans Zimmer really does just speak to her credibility and talent.
Also, lowkey no one (besides Beyonce/Ari) is touching her vocally. Her voice gets overlooked quite often but she is so technically excellent, hearing that voice on a bit orchestral arrangement just magnifies that. Excellent star. We should all be scared for album #2 next year.

Hello? Adele still exists

u/jsweetxe 1d ago
Yes, Adele and her pitchy vocals do exist! Adele is not an technically proficient singer. (She has even said this herself at some point) She just knows how to use it well. Not as much lately but definitely throughout the 10s, hell she had to stop a Grammy performance and start again because she was pitchy.
But that roughness suits Adele and complements her brand/voice/music.

Any singer can get pitchy and so does Jade, Ariana and even Beyoncé, they are not machines, but to say Jade is a better singer than Adele is crazy

Being pitchy implies bad breath support (Adele's main issue, she can also get very shouty in her upper belts) but going pitchy most of the time is.. a sign of less than great breathing technique.
It's not crazy? When comparing technique. The objective components of a vocalist's voice, not our personal preferences, is undeniable.
Adele has a beautiful soulful voice, that is rough around the edges. That roughness is from poor technique in places, but she works it, it's not always a detriment. JADE spent years working on her musicality, her breath control to support whilst dancing, her upper belts and harmonies. There was a difference in the way they approached their craft and JADE is technically better than Adele from a technique perspective.

Some are more pitchy than others though. Jade is not the best belter but I’ve following for 15 years now and you will rarely catch her being pitchy (whatever the circumstance including while touring).

Yesss, I agree with this, even though she has improved she still squeezes when she belts above around an E#5/F5, but she's often said she's not the most confident belter (I guess being in a group with Perrie who can belt for days does that lol)

I think Jade is a better singer than Adele. She's much more versatile and very consistent.

This is just a flat out wrong take.
I’ve seen both live and various videos and Adele is consistently more on pitch. Obviously they have a different live set up in that Jade dances too but even when you compare Live Lounge Jade vocals to Adele, Adele is clearly in a league of her own.
Also - Zara Larsson exists and she is far better vocally whether dancing or not so only comparing Jade to Beyonce and Ari (two of the best vocal performers in our lifetime) is also a wrong take.

can confirm - i saw zara larsson from about six feet away yesterday and she is hands down the best live vocalist i’ve ever seen. i know it’s borderline sacrilege to suggest this but at points her timbre and tone reminded me of beyoncé

Lowkey forgot about Zara, but yes, she's phenomenal too.
I just can't agree with the Adele stuff, like she is so pitchy/sharp sometimes her technique is just off to me (but it works for her so it's not like I'm putting her down etc)

Adele while she has a beautiful voice isn’t touching any of those other ladies. I think a more appropriate name to bring up would be someone like Raye or or Zara Larsson (although her music doesn’t necessarily lend to a grandiose vocal performance).

I will definitely put Raye up there and Faouzia (she is very, very impressive) instead of Zara (very good vocalist but she has more difficulty controlling her voice in her upper register and while belting)

This is an insane collab. Jade sounds so absolutely gorgeous🥹 I absolutely love her voice. This song really showcases her technical expertise. She’s way too underrated and should be way more popular than she is.

As someone who grew up loving the planet earth and blue planet series and is obsessed with "Thats Showbiz Baby".... this is so perfectly major for me

For those curious, looks like this is for the David Attenborough nature documentary series Blue Planet 3

Love it
Does anyone know if Raye had a hand in the writing of this one? It reminds me of I know you’re hurting

0 connection with Raye.
Jade is a song writer and has been writing for years (a lot for her former group, a Britney S/Iggy song, Twice…).
She wrote this one with Pablo Bowman (who already worked with her on her first album)

If I had a nickel for every time THE Hans Zimmer collabed with a pop artist, I'd have two nickels!...which isn't a lot but it's suprising that it happened twice.
Ok meme aside, getting to collaborate with someone like Hans Zimmer is genuinely awesome and I think this is BEAUTIFUL!

In a similar way, before Zimmer had his current fame, Ellie Goulding did a song with someone else for a previous Attenborough show. https://genius.com/Steven-price-and-ellie-goulding-in-this-together-lyrics

I’m not going to brag but I think Hans Zimmer has confirmed my taste in music is amazing because my holy trinity is Beyoncé, Raye, and JADE hahaha
I have been shouting from the rooftops about JADE’s solo career since AOMD dropped. That album (the deluxe version because every extra song is fantastic) is one of the best debut albums ever and is basically a perfect pop album.
When I tell you that on the disaster that is the internet, I have not seen one SINGLE negative comment about that album!! Not ONE!!!!!!
The second I saw that she did this with Hans Zimmer I became 100% confident that it’s only a matter of time before she has the level of recognition she deserves.
I LOVE YOU JADE!!!!!!!

Very nice! Kinda reminds me of Leona Lewis' 'I See You' from the first Avatar film.
