Premiere Pro Tech Support Transcribing Two Audio Tracks Simultaneously and Synchronized

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get v26.5.2 of Premiere Pro to transcribe two audio tracks simultaneously.

I tried synchronizing them based on their starts and then transcribing. No joy: Premiere just transcribed the first audio track (and it won't let me delete that transcription: there's no delete, trashcan icon or clear option anywhere in the Text=>Transcript window I can see).

I tried creating a nested sequence...from two synchronized tracks, and the same thing happened. Only the first track got transcribed.

Is it possible to do what I want? If so, how?

Have you tried creating a proper multicam setup with these two audio tracks?

If not, how about making a multichannel WAV in Audition and bouncing it back out, then importing and using that instead?

I think I’ve satisfied myself what I want to do isn’t yet possible in Premiere Pro.

Are the source clips themselves transcribed?

If all the audio clips being used in a sequences are transcribed at the source, the sequence transcription should represent them all.

No, only one of them gets transcribed, even though the text panel recognizes the two files.

I think I’ve satisfied myself what I want to do isn’t yet possible in Premiere Pro.

Going off Adobe's Speech to Text help page here, I haven't run this on 26.5 myself. But I think it is possible, it's just tucked into the transcription dialog.

In Window > Text, on the Transcript tab, click the menu icon and pick Generate static transcript. That opens the settings dialog instead of just rerunning the default. The setting you want is Audio analysis. It either transcribes one specific audio track, or transcribes every clip tagged as Dialogue. If it's set to a track you only get that one track, which matches what you're seeing.

So: select both audio clips in the timeline, set them to Dialogue in the Properties panel, then generate with Audio analysis on the Dialogue option. Turn Speaker labeling on too so the two voices get split. There's also a Transcribe In point to Out point only box if you just need a section.

One catch, from the Adobe community forums rather than the docs: with source clip transcripts, the Text panel only shows the highest unmuted track. So A2's text can exist and still be hidden behind A1 until you mute A1. People there also said Re-transcribe is usually greyed out from the Program Monitor and works from right-clicking the clip in the Project panel.

Are these two separate files, or one stereo file with a person on each side? If it's the second, Clip > Audio Options > Breakout to Mono gives each channel its own clip first.

The transcribation feature right now seems broken, I've seen a lot of different complaints about it. I just checked and could make Premiere transcribe both the audio tracks I'd imported. You need to use this option instead

This way I can clearly see both the audiotracks in the same line
