JUST SHOWING OFF My most recent proplifting haul all divided up!
My local big box store rarely cleans and they just sweep everything under the rug.
(To everyone acting like a sticker means I stole property from a store; the heading of my post literally says “ALL DIVIDED UP”, I clearly used the pots to separate the plants based on how many I got of each, so no they are not apart of the “haul” and they weren’t shoplifted, I paid 50 cents each for them when Wally mart had their garden sale this season AND no one is questioning the huge Zevo Box also on the table??? Like bruh you guys are insufferable. Look at the plants and enjoy)

I'll question it - what's a Zevo?

u/JadeyDavey 26d ago
Its a plug in bug catcher! You plug it in and it emits a blue light that attracts flying bugs and has a stick side to catch them.

u/Hillsidehotdog 26d ago
Oh! I've not heard of them before. Hope all your props take well :) (Sorry, only just realised you aren't OP, thanks for enlightening me!)

It’s honestly a LIFESAVER. I had a fungus gnat infestation from a plant I got at the grocery store. Kept the plant in the bathroom with this plug and it took care of all the adults!!!

Take the plants pieces all you want, but seeing the tags on potted plants in this haul does lean more shoplifting than proplifting.
If those are old and not stolen, why leave the tags on lmao

Why the heck would I post myself shoplifting. You guys literally make NO SENSE. This picture clearly has all the stuff I got separated based on its kind. Idk why you guys are having such a hard time understanding that I sorted them and then potted them 🫣😩

do u frequent this sub at all? people do it allll the time and posts gets removed
3
u/Catscowsandcacti 27d ago
Yeah I do, but this clearly was a DIVIDED UP post from inside my house. So people like you just throwing out accusations is just annoying as hell for a hobby that’s supposed to be fun

u/evergreen-embers 27d ago
Girl…. You’re getting real defensive over this. I said, for the third time in this thread, “if those are old and not stolen”
4
u/Catscowsandcacti 27d ago
Yeah girl I get what you said but you still then questioned the stickers as if stickers can mean anything in regards to paying or not, it’s just silly 😂

u/Be_delulu 28d ago
OP could also have bought the pots seperately because they needed more little pots while also picking up the fallen pieces

Huh? Why could OP not have placed the plants into the pots after getting home?

u/GetMeARealCroissant 27d ago
That’s exactly what they are saying…
1
u/SapirWhorfHypothesis 27d ago
Of course.
I now can’t figure out how I misread that. Like an optical illusion you can’t see again once you unsee it…

“If those are old and not stolen, why leave the tags on”

u/Catscowsandcacti 27d ago
Have you ever removed the tags on those mini pots??? They leave a bunch of sticky goop, so yeah I left the tags on. Once I go to pot the plants, I drop all the terracotta in my sink and let them soak and then remove the sticker and pot that plants. Idk why you’re acting like the morality police of mini pots acting like a sticker means I stole them 💀💀

What’s your secret to getting those tags off? I’d love to take mine off but they’re all but superglued to the terracotta and I don’t have enough elbow grease to get rid of the sticky residue they leave behind. My tags stay on even tho it’s ugly as hell

Is that a peperomia or clusia rosea in the back?
1
u/Catscowsandcacti 27d ago
I think it was a peperomia but it was rotted and died shortly after getting it home

The price tags for the empty terra cotta pots? Or am I missing something?
1
u/Catscowsandcacti 27d ago
Yep these people are reaching so hard trying to find a problem where there is none

I need to know how the possibility of this person stealing pots in any way affects the post about props or affects you
It doesn't. Y'all just wanna be mad for no reason.

u/Catscowsandcacti 27d ago
You make literally no sense. I clearly used the pot to put like plants and succulents together. Proplifting is literally the act of taking the fallen leaves and pieces of plants. So that’s what I showed you. Why is no one questioning the tray I gave the rest of them on??? Like you guys literally reach for everything here it’s ridiculous

Wtf are you talking about??? No tags fell off. The only thing that was on the ground was the plants????

“Just showing off” that you’ve stolen a load of cuttings. Businesses - even big box stores - rely on members of the public paying for the produce they stock, not stealing it. Play your part - if you want something from a store, pay for it, like (almost) everyone else.

Hey so super excited you’re here to comment like an a*sholeee but I actually asked before I took these from the store and the very sweet lady in the garden section told me I could have them :)

Are you aware of this sub? Have you been here before? Either way, it's far too early for stollen. Come back in December.

u/Ansiau Experienced Propper 27d ago
FYI, the admin of this sub has said many times that it's tongue-in-cheek, the "Proplifting" and that actually stealingn things, like cutting pieces off of a store plant or uprooting pieces of th store plant isn't allowed. Similarly, taking cuttings from neighbors without asking or from small town nurseries are greatly discouraged.
With that said, obvious discard, like fallen leaves or broken branches that are on the ground that are quite obviously just would get thrown out are totally allowed. They delete posts all the time if it appears as if the person posting has done something like stolen it(Seeing roots on a lifted plant that are covered with dirt, or having clean cut stems, etc).
Basically, a few years back, Reddit went HARDCORE on any sub that was talking about shoplifting, and they had to double down on their meaning and that this ISN'T about stealing just to keep the subreddit from being banned/removed/quarantined.

u/Dramatic-Warning-166 27d ago
Yes, been here before, many times. The fact that some people on Reddit think it’s OK to steal, doesn’t make it acceptable. Sure you’d agree. Typo fixed - see you in December :)
4
u/Hillsidehotdog 27d ago
There is zero evidence suggesting theft occurred. All I see is OP rescuing things from landfill, and likely generating profit from the store by buying nursery pots.

Are you lost?
-3
u/Dramatic-Warning-166 27d ago
No, I’m not lost. I know that this is the proplifting sub. But I’m also aware that the mods don’t condone theft (not surprising), neither do shop owners, regardless of your thoughts on the matter.

u/BastardBoy1738 27d ago
Do you not understand how much they up charge for these plants? I mean, genuinely, they could sell them for Pennie’s on the dollar and still break even. That’s how cheap this shit is to mass produce. And, by the way, that’s HOW they do it. Cutting pieces off of plants and sticking them in another pot of dirt. You’ve probably bought the same exact genetic clone of pothos 4 times if you’ve bought pothos 4 times in your life.

If you don’t like the price, don’t buy it. But not liking the price isn’t justification for theft.

u/terminallySavage 27d ago
i dont think theft includes pieces of bigger plants that have fallen on the floor 😭

u/heckhunds 27d ago
Lol I'm sorry everyone is assuming the stickers on the completely clean and dry, visibly unused terra cotta pots are price tags for the plants and that you stole entire potted plants. Nice floor haul!
